Level 5
Many gamers have been wondering if Japanese RPG’s are going to fade away from our shelves and who can blame them? Recently Nintendo have not shipped The Last Story or Xenoblade to the US, while only making it available in Europe and Japan. However, the hope of rekindling the J-RPG market may begin because Level 5, the creators of Dragon Quest VIII and White Knight Chronicles have now began to create games from within North America for the Western audience. In addition to that, the CEO of the studio, Akihiro Hino, stated “Level 5 will […] release games developed in Japan.” This is big news for Japanese RPG fans and gamers alike because this will finally supply us with some fantastic games from overseas and also may help convince Square-Enix to release games in the US, that are only available in Japan. After all, Level 5 was the studio who brought the first Dragon Quest game over to the US and ever since then, Dragon Quest has sold over 1.5 million copies in North America.
