FINAL FANTASY XVI DLC Chapters Announced at The Game Awards 2023

LOS ANGELES (Dec. 8, 2023) – During The Game Awards 2023, SQUARE ENIX® unveiled exciting news for fans of the critically acclaimed action-RPG, FINAL FANTASY™XVI. The company revealed a new trailer showcasing two paid DLC chapters for the game. The first DLC, titled “Echoes of the Fallen,” is already available on the PlayStation®5. Players can purchase it from the PlayStation™Store. The second DLC, titled “The Rising Tide,” is set to release in Spring 2024.

Echoes of the Fallen – New Storyline and More

“Echoes of the Fallen” offers a new storyline, battles, weapons, accessories, level cap increase, and more. This DLC takes place before the base game’s final battle, as mysterious dark crystals start circulating on the black market. Players will join Clive and his team as they investigate a group of suspicious traders, leading them to the long-abandoned Fallen tower known as the Sagespire. Within the tower, they uncover terrible secrets that await them.

As a bonus, players who purchase “Echoes of the Fallen” or the Expansion Pass will receive special items, including the iconic Buster Sword from FINAL FANTASY VII, allowing Clive to wield Cloud Strife’s legendary weapon. Additionally, they will receive the “Away (1987)” Orchestrion Roll, which features a chip-tune version of the song “Away” to be played as background music in the hideaway.

The Rising Tide – New Challenges Await

In the second DLC chapter, titled “The Rising Tide,” players can look forward to new challenges, including the confrontation between Clive and the legendary Eikon, Leviathan. More details will be announced soon.
