I'm gonna say this once, because nobody has corrected you.

Catwoman is DC. Didn't you see the Batman movie that had her in it?

We call it.... Avengers. It's supposed to have Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and I think Thor.

Iron Man has been the greatest superhero movie yet. It's better than the Dark Knight.

X-Men 3 wasn't all that good. They shouldn't have killed off Xavier and Cyclops.

Hmm... I don't think Spider Man 2 was too bad. 3, good plot line, but I really didn't like what they did, causing the symbiote to make Peter be all emo and stuff.

^This is going way off topic you guys.^(back on topic)

I for once think that Disney buying Marvel was an intelligent move for Marvel, Since Marvel Felt they needed to start to produce their own movies-(And stop asking wallstreet for cash)
Did you guys know that spiderman 1,2,3 was not entirely produced by the new MARVEL STUDIOS ?.No,It wasn't until Iron man,The new Hulk, and finally X-men wolverine origins that they became an independent studio, and guess what? Iron man did so great at the box office.
So in a way they are now backed up by one of the best companies in the world, and will have enough cash to continue making probably even better films.
Who knows right? I guess will shall see....

The discussion was actually entirely fine, so relax.

And disney is just going to butcher the gorier aspects of Marvel. So its just kinda like....

    There goes the neighborhood.
    I should also mention that Disney honestly has the most retarded casting abilities when it comes to blockbuster, action packed, gut buster game/comic transition flicks;

ITT; Jake Gyllenhal as the Prince of Persia.

  4. Well, we can rest easy because they also announced that they weren't going to interfere with the Marvel stuff. They're just getting like permissions for having certain things with Marvel. Hey they already made some crappy Spiderman thing on Toon Disney.

    x3pic I'll Kill You.

I beg to differ, Iron Man was ok, then Dark Knight came out, and everyone forgot about it.

I hate X-men anyway, but the movies were decent, out of the 3, number 2 was the best, followed by 1, and number 3 was the worst, but they still were decent movies

    Eh spiderman movies are horrible

umm not really, we are discussing marvel

:/, i saw the poster for this movie..basically FML twice,
im hoping they don't do marvel like this

really? Didn't see this, can you show me where you got it from?

Also, still waiting on my Hannah Montana comic book

May have been disneydx, which used to be known as jetix over here. Which usually shows stuff like old spiderman cartoons.

Yeah, they've been showing old superhero cartoons. They showed the old Spider Man cartoon before, showed the old Iron Man cartoon, the old Incredible Hulk cartoon. The stuff they're showing on Jetix is stuff that originated on Fox Kids.

Me, my brother, and my stepbrother had talked about this before. Iron Man and the Dark Knight were both great. But what made Iron Man better than the Dark Knight is that the Dark Knight could've been better. Iron Man couldn't have been better. But I suppose it all boils down to oppinion.

Iron Man will not and can "never" be better than TDK.

About 92% of everyone who saw both movies will agree with that statement.

Trust me. Iron Man had visuals, not depth that crept into the darker nature and question of 'fight or flight' amongst regular human beings.

That's basically why Heath Ledger kept winning awards from all over the country for his role because he basically /made/ the film worth the bucks. And what did Iron Man win in terms of ranking amongst super elitist status?

    Nothing except some dough.
TDK is now a cult classic.

Iron Man is just a blockbuster dvd to throw into a gift bag for elementary school kids.

It still boils down to oppinion. You, and 92% of people who saw both movies believe TDK was better than Iron Man.

But that doesn't mean that either side is right. One of my friends, who practically lives for movies, says that Iron Man is better than TDK. He says about how unrealistic TDK is. And that Iron Man should've come out during the summer. If it did, it'd have been more successful.

    Lol, no it wouldn't have.

TDK is ridiculously realistic? Are you KIDDING?
All you have to do is release a psychopath with that magnitude of intelligence and put him in a jazzy clownsuit with a spirit for doing dangerous things for the thrill of it --- and we basically get the real deal.

What gave TDK that quality was that it was a film that emphasized the 'anything can happen' sort of thing. Not to mention that it covered some things that actually go on behind closed doors.

If Iron Man was released during the summer, it would have came in 3rd place, 2nd being its highest point. There was no performance or heart wrenching 'engaging' factor that resided in Iron Man.

I mean, I totally dig the movie itself.
But when you put them against each other, TDK takes the cake because its so much "more" than just a movie. That's why everyone went to go see it.

There are some parts in TDK that aren't truly realistic. In reality, the Joker wouldn't have lasted as long as he did. Somebody would have killed him during the movie. Heck, a smart mobster would have shot him in the head when he was brought in for a reward for killing him.

Plenty of the movie is realistic, but some of it is too unreal. Maybe just because of the way most of us are raised not being show any kind of psychopaths that the Joker would be. I don't know if you've ever seen or read about a psychopath on the Joker's level, but I surely haven't. There are just times that he seems too unreal to truly be able to exsist.

Most Unreal version of the Joker was in the animated versions, the way I see it.
lmao. but yea, I see your point, love.

So I am guessing I am one of the few that didn't enjoy TDK... =/

Guess its not my type of film, sat there screaming "just fucking kill him" at the screen and getting really pissed off when he got away and killed more people.

When people are stupid in movies it drives me insane.

ontop of that I didn't get what the hype was about, everyone seemed to love it but to me it was just another movie, not Peter Jackson good but not Adam Sandler bad.

I cant stop saying TDK, yes...T.D.K...tdk!

    Anyway straight from Disney's mouth

    Source: Smartmoney.com

On a conference call Monday, Disney CEO Bob Iger said Marvel management has already been successful at extending its characters' popularity beyond comic book fans and that Disney could provide further branding and marketing power.

"In particular, they have shown a tremendous skill at increasing the commercial appeal of characters like Iron Man that traditionally were not well-known outside of Marvel's core fan community, and we believe there is significant opportunity to further mine Marvel's rich intellectual property portfolio," he said.

I ask is Iron man really that underground?Well, anyway I see where Disney is going with this, but I personally think that it really depends on the director who's making the movie not so much the hero.

  17. Umm, it means a real s**t-load if the director is changed. The last one did very well. So if the new Iron Man movie sucks so much that it makes the film's skin go red then people are gonna really hate Disney.

Iron Man specifically, no. But there are so many heroes you wouldn't know about unless you read the comics or saw a movie that had a hero like that. Examples:

The Silver Surfer: Didn't hear about him until I watched an episode of Scrubs. Didn't know anything else about him until the 2nd Fantastic 4 movie.

The Sentry: Didn't know until I read some comics.

Hades: Not until I read comics.

    Hercules: Same.

    Thor: Same.

The most popular Marvel superheroes would be Spider Man and the X-Men.
