Because they may start believing in a certain religion. And we wouldn't want athiests to do that now would we?

    New Subject;
Are there such things as racial, gender associated, and social privileges in this country? Or is there just simply equal opportunity?

    Yes and no to both.

It is supposed to be (And usually is) an equal opprotunity thing. But depending on your environment (Such as living in a racist area), things may not be so equal.

And maybe your personal luck is a factor too.

    Oh, of course.

Even though its an apparent fact that we control our own destinies, some factors come into play:

    *Your Race
    *Your Gender
*The Socio-Economic Status of your Family
*Your Source & Amount of Education
    *Your Natural Presence/Beauty

    - help determine where you end up if you choose to pursue a career, go after a job, try to buy a house or a car, or try to make connections with the right people.

    Simple sociology, ladies and gentlemen.

They do a little bit in highschool, they mostly just brush over not even basic "basics".
I think we need a little more in this country. Its knowledge, knowledge thats important, so why not learn it in school?

    lmao, "right"

No, i'm not saying that to turn all athiests, i just said that becuz it plays to both sides advantage. Both sides of the arguement are "learning". I like having arguements with intelligent people, not people who think they know something and they dont. I find people like that to often at school, and i'd like to have an intelligent discussion with someone about things, and they understand everything i'm talking about, yah know?

    1. Why new subject??
    2. yes, ther are. Becuz man is sinful we are all imperfect, but we should strive to overcome such weaknesses as the judgement of others.

    agree.

    yep.

and thus we have pointed out the basics of "real life" here people. We've discuvered the problem of humanity, whoo-hoo for us.

But can we do anything to fix that problem?
    unfortunately....no.

And then there's the luck factor (I had just thought of this as I read your post). It depends on the luck of your genetics. Your parents may have combinations of genes A, B, C, D, E, and F. You may have those genes in any combination, or not have some of those genes at all. And those genes determine factors such as intelligence and other things that can effect your Socio-Economic status.

I'm not going to say "yes and no", because that simply isn't true.

There is just simply no such thing as equal opportunity in the world, no matter how hard we believe. It's based on conditions of the individual (be they gender, race, or any physical attribute; it could also be metaphysical, such as personality, psychology, etc).

Let me bring up some random topic for us since no one has posted for a while.
What do you guys think of Michael Moore?
In my psychology class we recently watched one of his films, Bowling for Columbine.
I thought it was interesting, and gave great facts about certain things, but his over all agenda was really left wing and he presented it badly. I've heard Fahrenheit 9/11 was really good, and his new movie looks like it will be good as well.

I was just woindering what u'r guy's opinions on him and his films were.

i would say it's the first one, cause white people do get more jobs and less disrespect in the working world and blacks really aren't respected there. so i dont really think equal opportunity is here, yes we all have it but sometimes we have to go though others to have it and if you a black person and it's a white guy, it's going to be hard. look a obama.

Flaming Liberal. Think he's wrong. Don't really care for his movie.

I saw that movie. Found it really funny. But didn't really care for anything else about it.

Michael Moore is very good in terms of questioning the establishment. But because it is almost satirical, I can't say his message can ever truly get across. Then again, if he were too serious, he wouldn't have too much of a fanbase I don't think. lol

    haha, ok then.
I agree with you that his agenda is VERY liberal, theres no question about that, but then again sometimes he gives out interesting information on certain topics. Now he puts his own spin on things, but the information itself is useful.

And yeah, its a pretty good documentary, i disagree with most of anti-gun stuff, because i am pro gun, but the whole fear and consumption thing is pretty cool.

Yes, he does do a great job or questioning, and i for one loike his satire, but for me i'll be watching it and i'll start to really agree with him, and then BOOM, he explodes with the Liberal agenda, twists words around to fit his goal and polotical view, and everyone either loves him or hates him for all the wrong reasons.

Dont like the guy that much, but you have to admit,he defintly uses his Freedom of Speech. Now then, also dont know much about him,but if he is not saying that certain things are not protected by free speech that could end up meaning anyone against his liberal agenda, then I will give him some respect points.

What is a 'Liberal Agenda?' To be honest, with the way this country has been going for the past 60 years, a 'liberal agenda' feels more like it'd be benefiting people by releasing their minds from social restraints placed on them by the past presidential administrations that originally worked to make them stupid.

We need another FDR, since we're not even in a 'recession' anymore.
We only use the word 'recession' in order to give us the illusion that we're still on top of things. When in reality, we're more than a trillion dollars in debt because of bullshit-mistakes on the country's part, and on the Bush Administration's.

We're in a depression, people. The poverty rate's been skyrocketing in percentage over the past 2 years, since jobs are being shut down and more houses are being foreclosed. Only way to get out of it is starting from the bottom. Meaning -- establishing free health care and re-distributing jobs.

Who cares if its a socialist move, honestly? Being afraid of socialism or communism is like you're still trapped in America during the Cold War when they tried to make you 'think' that each social system is terrible and too liberal because that's what businesses were really afraid of and wanted to control its consumers by thinking the same way.

I should also add that there's no such thing as 'traditional american values.'
That's a fabricated, racially centric BS created in order to make other people assimilate into a white-host culture.

    agree

Haha, if u dont know what a liberal agenda is, look in the mirror (belief wise)

Lmao, when I look in the mirror, I only see a human being, so I don't really understand the point of that joke.

Besides, what's so wrong with it? I don't run around calling the other side "A Conservative Agenda," when I talk about politics. They aren't really agendas. Calling them that is the result of fear stricken by paranoid administrations during the Cold War.

    Move on with time, seriously.

    lol, i said belief wise.
And agendas are agendas, no one created the term agenda. There is something called a liberal agenda, and a conservative agenda, thats basic polotics. It doesnt matter what YOU use, your didnt invent political debates did you??

You're not really debating anything. Answer my questions and my views instead of going off on tangents that don't correlate with the rest of the conversation.

i know, i'm srry if they seem like it, i just havent had time to give a good reply.

Explain more, becuz you sound like a classic modern day liberal, trying to blame everything on Republicans, when both sides are to blame.
A brief recap on Republican history, do you support slavery??
Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, he ended Slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation.
If you want to trace back history and blame it on a specific political party, then give credit were it is due as well. Neither side has a great history, and both sides have helped out our great nation a lot. But I do not believe in blaming mistakes on ideals. I believe in blaming people, not parties.
Such as our current War situation. I blame George W. Bush.

I never liked FDR. If you look deep into WW2 history, FDR knew what was coming and did nothing to stop it.

I am totally with you their sista! lol

I agree with all of this except for free health care.
We need to redistribute jobs, we need to lower taxes, cut government spending, get out of the Middle East, try and pay off national debts like Putin did in Russia, and we need to try and slowly ween ourselves off of low cost China crapola and start manufacturing more things here in America.

If u really think the world is so two sided, you are sorely mistaken. People's views range, they are not confound to Liberalism and Conservatism. That is a version of bias.
But it is OBVIOUS when someone's views are totally one sided.
