My point in that post was that God gave us free will so that people wouldn't be a mere species of robots. If we abuse his gift to make a wrong choice, then why doesn't he have the right to punish us?

As a Christian, what do you think is more important? Love for God by abiding to his rules (see below), or love for a human because we have a desire for him/her.

Also,I really don't care who's gay either--I'm just saying that if a gay person is Christian, that person should try his/her hardest to avoid gay relationships.

God didn't directly warn us of a bunch of other things either, like cheating on a test or looking at pornography. Through interpreting the bible using contextual analyzing skills, we can imply these things are wrong. An example of this would be that in the Book of Genesis, God created man and woman, commanding them to be pure and to fertilize; and Christians interpret this as a disapproval of homosexuality.

Well I want to put my two cents in here. What ever. I support gay people because they are people, just that their views are different. Why judge people even tho you don't you know them? I have gay friends and they are cool. I HEART Lesbians!

    Love is love.

I'm gonna bring up something else, as your post reminded me of it. The acceptance of gays represents a double standard. Mostly among guys. In the eyes of so many guys, someone being gay is pretty much the same as them not being a real man. But at the same time, it's really hot for a girl to be a lesbian.

    WTF people?

If you're ok with it, be ok with it. If you're against it, be against it. But double standards really annoy me. This tells me that very few people truly have a problem against homosexuality. What they have a problem with is people thinking they are gay because society has set some unwritten rule that it makes them less of a man.

Well I have no problem with gays. They are like regular people!!! Lesbian get along with straight guys more than gay guys, and it is the opposite for them. I have gay guy friends, and one of them is my best friend. I only talk to him if I need to get my feelings out..hehe... but they cool. Just because they are gay doesn't make them less manly. He can fight... Girls are tough too.. It is my mission to convert lesbians...LOL XD

Gay straight or lesbian doesn't matter imo, God made it possible for people to love other people, somewhere along the way someone added to the bible that its bad to love someone of the same sex (and I am a Christian too XD but come on..)

My observation is that its nobodies business what someone else does, because its not our decision or right to judge other people. I have had gay, bi, and lesbian friends, just as often as straight (well.. the few times that I accepted having friends XD) because it doesn't really matter as long as I'm not being "hit on"

I'll probably offend a lot of people, but I don't buy using the Bible as justification for homophobia. From what I've seen, people will point to specific passages that outlaw whatever they're against (ie homosexuality), then pointedly ignore passages that speak against something that they themselves are into. I think people just use the Bible as an excuse to explain away their own prejudices.

Everything in our society has a double standard, it seems. Better get used to it.

He gave us free will to make the choice on our own, as an outcome the choices we make cannot be incorrect as God has a plan for everyone of us and it would be a part of Gods plan.

The final Commandment passed down to us from Jesus Christ the son of God:
"Love thy neighbor as thyself" (Note Jesus said this, thus God said this)

I'm a Christian, raised as one but more along the lines of forced into it, baptised at a young age and thus was sent to catholic schools, and eventually rejected God. But not before being taught a load of what I believe to be bullshit.

Anyhoo, Gays don't bother me, Its there choice and even if they are Christian then the choice is even greater as it shows courage.
As a Libra I firmly believe for equality in the world. LoL.

    I agree...

You can't really use the bible as a justification for anything. Why would God blame flawed humans if he created them himself?

Honestly, while God gave us free will, it also says in the bible that he doesn't want to send us to hell. Wouldn't it be easier to have not just created gays or something?

That's the problem with the bible...

I'm surprised there isn't a book of contradictions in it.

Right, since no one else will say it I will. WRONG!!!!!!!
People are treating gays the same way as the they treated African Americans a while back. They only ever think this because that is THEY'RE point of view. Everything else is just supporting that view.
Now that that is said I will express MY point of view. I believe that people should be able to do whatever they please when it comes to love. Even if they are gay they should still be allowed to marry if they want and anyone who doesn't think so had better be able to post something real good. I don't want something from the bible. We changed a lot of that into a load of contradicting view points and edited out a whole lot of stuff. Stuff I am sure would lead to very good reading but as it is, I think it is a load of bull. Some of that stuff is still true but how much is a mystery.
Now to pull myself back onto the subject, people can love each other, marry if they please, and all others don't get a say. Gays will eventually find a way to beat the system so trying to stop them will only postpone the eventual results.

I find nothing wrong with gays and gay marriage because I have a few friends who happen to be gay. The thing I hate though is how some people try to turn gay marriage into a political issue. If you love someone you should be able to marry them instead of being told no and have to keep dating unless they go to a different country just to marry. Eventually though religious views will take over the actual meaning of the constitution of the USA which all our laws are based off of and to which we count on as being fair as well as the Supreme court justices interpretation. Religion should stay within an environment so it doesn't bias opinions. Nothing against those who are religious because I happen to be a proud Jew but i'm just trying to make a point because it took a little bit for me to allow myself to think freely away from some of my religious bias's.

Rakdos you should read before you type. I said that everyone is treating gays badly not because of religion but because of a point of view. Religion is just there to back peoples point of view up. I am all for gay rights.

I wasn't typing that to anyone specific I was just stating a fact that tends to happen in our society.

I have no problems with that. Be proud to be yourself. I happen to know a lot of people that are homophobes. I am friends with just about all of them.

And at this, I cannot resist.

Your name gives you away, DeDeDee.

Give me one GOOD reason why you're a homophobe. And this does not include the bible, or 'I don't want a guy to hit one me.'.

And as for Ven_Roxas, I have to ask. How is it anymore wrong or immoral when a heterosexual goes out and has sex before marrige. That's right NEITHER are wrong or immoral. And the same goes for you as it does DeDeDee. Give me one good reason why homosexuality is wrong or immoral. This also doesn't include the bible, or 'I don't want a guy to hit on me.'.

I honestly have nothing agains homosexuals, but I REALLY don't want a guy hitting on me. Seriously, akward.

But I do think that if a homosexual couple wants to marry, in the US, they should have the right to do so. I don't agree with it, but I'm talking form a constitutional standpoint here.
