No Commitment on Versus XIII

    With this news I could sort of cry about. Some of you are probably wonder what could Final Fantasy Versus XIII have to do with Kingdom Hearts. Well let me explain, the team working on this game is the same team behind Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, the team in charge of creating Kingdom Hearts III when it happens.
    A little about FF Versus XIII is a RPG game announced at E3 2006 and not much detail has been released about this games, which is pretty typical of Square Enix. People from Gaming Union asked Yoshinori Kitase when the game will be released at the gamescon this year. Kitase replied quoting…
    “We have no release date information to update. Unfortunately we can’t say anything about that. We can’t commit ourselves to 2011 either.”
    This upsets me mainly because now, as we all know how slow the production team works, pushes Kingdom Hearts III back more.

    This is just sad! I am getting kinda pissed at Square! The seem like the company is really lazy in making games.

    It's not lazy, they're just putting a lot of work in on it and aren't committing to a release in 2011

    i really would like to know what versus xiii is about, is it like ffx games? two different stories or what.. but i hate that it means they wont work on kh3.

    Honestly, I couldn't care less for KH3. I want Versus, since it looked to be the best of the three XIII games. I'm glad I don't have a PS3 right now, because that would give me more of a reason to be upset.

    As a personal thought, if the reason as to why Versus is being pushed back more and more was to update it with constantly evolving technology, they shouldn't keep on updating it. Honestly, it would be fine with whatever is current. Now, if it is going to be a truly massive game and has still much work required, then it is understandable as to why it is taking so long.

    If KH3 is going to be created, and would be on the PS3, then stop and think for a moment. Versus has been worked on for for at least 4, if not more, years now. Has anybody besides me even considered the possibility that KH3, which isn't even being developed at the moment (At most they're thinking of a plot), will take several years to create.

    Exactly why I want it to hurry up because I'd like to have KH3 before I graduate from college with a bachelor's degree

    Versus wasnt the reason i wanted a PS3,so Im not exactly crying over this,though I do hope it comes out as soon as possible,though of course not rushed.

    While I also want KH III,I can wait for a while.Not all sequels come out a couple years after the one before after all.Doesnt mean I have to like it,but I already accepted that it wont be out for a good while.

    Bright side,we have other KH games to keep us interested!

    Soon as possible it does need to come out. They aren't lazy they are just taking their time.

    I just felt like they were being lazy....not litteraly! I just think they shouldn't be working on side projects and focus on the main series!

    Well,for Square itself,games like Final Fantasy and KH are not there only games.While they are well known for those games,they dont just make them.There are other games too.So really,I can wait.If the game is really good after the waiting,then great!

    Yes , but realize Square isn't stupid. They know they have a KH series to finish, if FFV13 gets outta hand, they will put it on pause again..trust me..or just scratch it all together.

    ^ I suppose it depends on where they think the money's at- will the KH fans put out more money for KH III than the FF fans will for Versus? (I think KH III would be the best bet, myself).

    But after working on Versus for so many years, I wouldn't think they'd be so wasteful as to scrap it completely.

    Well, I haven't been following Versus much, but from the few quotes I've seen, it sounds like the project has had its share of problems. They probably never intended for it to take this long.

    Ah the money is in KH right now. Versus is not worth it in my eye. The game looks sick, but if you wait for a game this long, it isn't worth it. Its been 4 years sense it premeired and we only have 2 trailers for it..really? I don't even think there is gameplay footage out..enough said.

    ^ I agree. I think they've probably alienated a lot of the fans who were psyched about the game when the first trailer was released. But if they've come this far, they may as well finish it.

    I think Versus is going to be disliked. Having this long of a wait means the expectations are going to be higher. And if it doesn't deliver, I think there will be a backlash.

    Well a game can't be too rushed or it will get out of control. I mean if they waited that long than it at least they're making it pretty big. It also depends how many teams are working on the main series, and on the side projects.

    I think they're all a bit pressured though, working on different things so many times. They're not having much time on their hands for the main parts. If its going to be really huge in an epic way, then yeah...I'm willing to wait, even if It takes a while and I might start getting irritated about it
