What became of Xehanort?

Now I know that Xehanort willing gave his dark to darkness, therefore creating a Heartless, which retained human form due to his strong heart, which he chose to be known 'Ansem, the seeker of darkness'. In doing so, this also created a Nobody, Xemnas. But what I am unclear about is whether or not, the original body of Xehanort remained, or did it vanish when he gave his heart to darkness? I also read that because of the order that Sora defeated the various forms of Xehanort, that this paves the way for him to make a return in the future - which I do not understand fully.

If anybody could share some 'light' on this issue and resolve my uncertainties it would be appreciated!

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

the heartless is Xehanort's 'heart' while Xemnas is Xehanorts 'body'. so Xehanorts body is gone.

and it has yet to be explained how he will return, though there are many theories.

Are you talking about Master Xehanort's body? I think it just vanished. Maybe it created a nobody.

As for how Xehanort will return in the future, it is simple. When you defeat somebody's heartless, then their nobody they are put back together. I don't know the exact details, but what I would consider an explanation is that when you defeat the heartless, the heart is left floating around. When you defeat the nobody, the body is left floating around, and the heart finds it's way to it.

Ah that's made me feel silly now, it's that simple, the heart becomes a heartless, then the body and soul that is left is then the 'nobody'.

Also, in theory all of organisation XIII will return to their original selves, if their hearts find their bodies again?

i'm guessing no since their heartless weren't defeated first.

then again since nothing is proven yet this is still all speculation. DW just said the most solid theory so far but it could be proven wrong when more info comes out.

I'm sure SE will concoct something so that Nobodies and Heartlesses can bring back their former body - it's pretty much the only way Sora will be able to save Terra in the next game.

I am so confused. Are we talking about Master Xehanort or Xehanort? Besides, Xehanort is just Terra possessed with a loss of memory.

both. MX and Terra both pretty much exist as the Xehanort that causes the trouble in KH 1 & 2. so talking about what's going to happen to one is synonomus with talking about the other.

Essentially MX and Terra shared the same body when MX invaded his body with his heart at the end of BBS (Terra's side) because Terra's will to keep going was so strong that MX couldn't get rid of him like he wanted. So when Sora ends up destroying Ansem the Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas, leader of Organization XIII, he unintentionally destroyed Terra for good - I think..

We don't know what happens to heartless and nobodies when the heart and body is destroyed, it's pretty much an answer that's been tossed up in the air by SE. Who knows what'll happen.

Coincidentally, Eraqus' heart was apparently also residing in Terra's heart, as revealed at the end of the last episode, so that means Sora actually destroyed 3 people - I don't think people care though..

    That's enough spoilers for now..

i hate that this forum doesn't have spoiler tags. it's not like i don't know but for those who don't... it gets annoying. cause if you use the black skin(like me) spoilers must be in black and the ones in white are clear as day. the oppostie is true for those using the white skin. this site really f***ing needs spoiler tags!

anyways, everything is up in the air right now since SE never really explained what happens when a Heartless or Nobody is destroyed.(the only thing we got was in 358; heartless killed by a keyblade have their hearts 'freed' while killed by other means just means they come back as a heartless later)

plus what's even more of a twist is what happens when a heartless of a specific person is destroyed, followed by the nobody. since none of this has been explained or hinted at, the best wecan do is speculate. though the theory DW posted is the most dominatn and most widely accepted.

@the above quote: Yes.. yes it does, very badly.

Anyways what makes it difficult for Sora to rescue Terra even more is the fact that he didn't technically release Ansem the Seeker of Darkness' heart -I'm calling him Ansem SoD, because it gets annoying righting the whole thing out. He kinda just exploded in front of Sora when the door to Kingdom Hearts opened..

I thought what I posted was confirmed in some interview with Nomura.

I think a gigantic burst of light would count for releasing a heart. If not that, the Kingdom Hearts Encoder should've finished the job.

    SPOILER
With Sora defeating Ansem SoD, and Xemnas, you would assume that in the process he has killed Terra unintentionally too right? But in the BBS secret ending, it shows Terra with the awakened Ventus, at their home Land of Departure saying 'Sora' together? I am one confused person right now!

Thanks guys for my initial question, which has been answered about what became of Xehanort's body after he became a heartless - the nobody is his body and soul.

Huh.. I found an interesting piece of information upon trying to confirm whether or not Ansem SoD lost his heart in that final battle. While watching the scene again didn't help none to enlighten me on the situation, trekking over to Kingdom Hearts wikia revealed that Ansem SoD was a heartless made up of only Master Xehanort's heart - it doesn't specify Terra's or Eraqus'.

I'm not sure if I can exactly trust wikia because anyone can edit the information to their pleasing, this seems like an interesting theory and if it's true, then when Terra, Master Xehanort and Eraqus all lost their bodies simultaneously to the experiments of Xehanort with the darkness, rather than share a single heartless they would each form their own heartless.

I think that should accurately explain things..
