But here's how I see it. The battle with "The Unknown" could not take place after the battle with Xehanort at the Keyblade Graveyard. Aqua does not revisit The Land of Departure. So her battle with "The Unknown had to take place right before or after the Mark of Mastery Exam.

 

Actually there's a timeline that shows you all the worlds TAV visited and revisited. Aqua doesn't go back to The Land of Departure. The only opportunity would be the beginning of the game.

Yes he is only accessible when you beat the game. But it's likely because he is such a difficult boss.

Ah so all 3 defeated his Remnant at different times. Why couldn't his Remnant be a new threat? If it was abled to be destroyed 3 different times then come back?

 

Talking about optional bosses being the new threat or not.

 

There are still 3 games til the end of the Xehanort Saga why add someone new not involving Xehanort. It makes no sense.

I figure that "The Unknown" is some form of Xehanort. I really don't know if it's Master Xehanort, his sentiment, or his nobody if they do exist.

Anyway I figure it's him.

1. Birth by Sleep is about "Xehanort's memories".
2. "The Unknown wields his blades similar to Ventus which his original Master was Xehanort, so I assume Xehanort taught his pupil to wield in a similar way.
3. "The Unknown" wields blades similar to the Ethereal Blades.
4. He wears a black coat which Master Xehanort is only seen wearing in Birth by Sleep.
5. Nomura has said Xemnas may have had a keyblade but intentionally hasn't used it which raises the question could Master Xehanort do the same.
6. Master Xehanort released his heart but his body and soul vanished either a sentiment or a nobody should have been created.
7. Fast pace movement and advanced magic does describe Master Xehanort.

I only see "The Unknown as only one person!"

Actually Dream Drop Distance is about the data within Sora. Even this game has some form of Xehanort.
