My Five Suggestions for KHPlanet

    Ventus Kickass Keyblader!

    Here are my five suggestions for KHPlanet.

    1) Change the name and broaden the audience. Expand the name to something that is Square-Enix, not just Kingdom Hearts. Our community is maturing .

    2) KHPlanet Podcast. I want to organize this and advertise this every week on n4g.com. As far as I know, there are no great Kingdom Hearts podcasts out there. We need TradeDemon/Rai to put the podcast on iTunes with an RSS feed.

    Topics:

    News of the Week
    Games we're playing
    Game of the Week - The game does not have to be released recently. It can be on the PlayStation, Genesis or the Xbox 360.
    Topic of the Week - If you had to pick someone other than Square to make Kingdom Hearts, who would it be? etc.
    Special Guest - celeb or someone from the forum
    Closing comments - current projects

    3) A Website Redesign - we need a new design to appeal to new audiences, old and new. The Kingdom Hearts community is growing in age and having it colorful makes it look unappealing. It needs to look sleek with a blog interface rather than blocks of text. Also, the main picture on the front page is a HUGE spoiler, which should have been taken off immediately.

    4) Twitter (DONE) and YouTube

    5) Have all links work or take them out. I hate it when I click on a link and I'm redirected to the main site again. It makes the site look unprofessional/unfinished.

    BONUS: I need accurate web data for the site so I know what is important to our readers and focus on the big hitters so we can raise viewers. To get interviews, I need to tell possible guests how many views we have and how our website can be important for them. In the future, I want to become a part of the press for Square-Enix but without the proper data, that is impossible. I do not know how important we are. By the way, I am in contact with the community manager of Square Enix.
    To get review copies and have exclusive access to their products/staff, I need to become press. They may have an interview with us, nonetheless, but this would help the site dramatically.

    Yeah I always did think this place needs a new name, who would come
    to something called KHPlanet, It should be like KH3 or KH-3. A redesign would
    be good, I don't want so many boards, we should morph them together like
    the series:
    Kingdom Hearts 1
    Kingdom Hearts 2
    Kingdom Hearts 3
    Other Games

    The other games aren't talked about much, so therefore also we should redo
    the Roleplay section:

    Sign Ups(Canon or Original):
    Production(Canon or Original, where you showcase the roleplay):
    Fanfiction(Solo roleplays made by one person).

    You should PM or mail TD for suggestions about the site, the staff here can't do much about it as TD only has the power to do so.

    Personally, I don't think a name change is a good move especially to something broader.

    Expanding makes it that much more to cover! (We can barely cover Kingdom Hearts) We'll definitely lose Kingdom Hearts Fans (If we could lose less) and Square Enix is too broad. People usually search for a specific niche. Broadening to something Square related is opening up to competition from Final Fantasy and other Square franchises/installments sites.

    -_- The site's name was KH-3 and a lot of us disliked the name (The old members before you guys (From 2008-2009) and we switched it to KHPlanet. Why should we change our name back to the old way again? As for the Roleplay "Fanfiction", why not just go to the Traditional Showcase and make your story in there? Better that way.

    -.- Yes... sadly none of us have that power.

    Glad to know that you are someone who challenge this idea. This all of us will have to vote on. Square Enix is broad from Final Fantasy to Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, Grandia, Dragon Quest, any game. Seeing that you also are saying that changing to a different style will also mean more site writers, I can understand that you are saying that it is TOO big of a step in this direction. Well, let us tell that to Vox.

    Exactly, plenty of writers are needed. Before we even consider a big step like that, we should at least have activity going around here and an abundant staff.
    More like "who can podcast with you?"
    That makes absolutely no sense?

    Edited but I do not see the difference between "who wants to" and "who can." Yes, the show would be great with three stable podcasters and one guest but it wouldn't hurt to have rotating hosts.

    Pretty simple!
    You want to but are unable. For whatever reason: time, lack of proficiency, or equipment. To be a legit/professional Pod Cast if that's what your aiming for, a quality mic, headphones, mixer, and/or software is needed.

    I have all that I need. Yes you are correct. I am aiming for a weekly podcast every Saturday or Sunday (depending if one of the hosts has to go to church on that day). No podcasts air in that time frame.

    I was thinking we could test this out with a daily recap of E3 and a discussion of it. We'll see if we gel together.

    First, you need a good microphone. I recommend the Snowball Ice.
    Secondly, you need Skype for us to communicate.
    Thirdly, you need to be knowledgeable about gaming in general, especially Square-Enix.

    I will record the conversation, convert it to MP3 and then edit the clips to make them sound crisp with intro music and outro music.

    If the podcast is anything like the monthly interviews, it would be audio so it wouldn't matter.

    I heard these work well and less expensive. That would be pretty good and all you need.
