Nintendo Wii U Games Will Cost $59.99 At Launch - G4tv.com

See, I would love to buy the Wii U but the problem is that the Nintendo Wii is still having games coming out so fast on that game console that the Wii U may not be able to pick up speed with just the games that it will come out at its current stage. $59.99? Maybe not. The price should be lowered a bit.

I actually read an article about the release details. Here's the link; Wii U priced, launching November 18 in US | Joystiq

Im in a hurry so I'll have to leave that as-is. But I honestly think it's slightly over priced. Once again greedy grubby fingers i the gaming industry looking to empty peoples' pockets.

And foe those of you who dont feel like viewing said article, here's a quick summary. They're asking $300 in N. America. For just the basic set. Then $350 for the deluxe version. And here's the only difference; you get NintendoLand in the Deluxe version. And the color is black instread of white. And that's what is bothering me most... if I want a black WiiU i HAVE to buy the deluxe set. And if you want white but want the deluxe set, you are out of luck there too.

So as you can see, I don't much approve of Nintendo's marketing strategy. Which is sad because I am a bonified Nintendo fanyboy.

And I agree whole heartedly here. Many recent consoles have suffered upon release because they were too eager to make big profit on release. They aren't taking into consideration the fact that people like you and myself are still looking forward to WII titles that are soon to release. So they dont make the intended killing on release day.

If they really want to make more money, they should save the games for the Wii U instead or just have the games be on both... actually, cross out that last part. the Nintendo Wii users will just buy that faster than the Wii U users. I still want Xenoblade and two of the Legend of Zelda games too and withthe update of many new Mario games coming out, Nintendo need to think better in terms of selling and interest. Trust me, once the Nintendo fans who did not have money at first get some, they will run t the Nintendo Wii games first.

Terrible idea. They'll suffer in sales.

A Nintendo example: Pokemon White/Black 2 is for Nintendo DS. If it was on 3DS, the DS owners could not play unless they were to buy a 3DS. Maybe some would and some wouldn't. But since its on Nintendo DS not only DS users can buy but also 3DS owners can buy. Everyone benefits including the consumers and producers.

Not saying they should constantly do this, because that would be stupid. It's a slow progression from one console to another as games and prices lower then holidays and tax rebates come in. The DS will become obsolete. The same with Wii U vs Wii.

The worse of any business decision.
Might be deserving of negative rep! Just Kidding!
    They are.
    (Direct Object: thinking (adj:better))
    (Indirect Object: Nintendo)
(Sometimes Direct and Indirect Objects are implied in English from a previous sentence.)

They're starting with one of their top selling products for launch. Plus, they are in the HD Game now for Hardcore Gamers. Not to mention, releasing the product near holiday season.

I remember the PS3 used to cost $500 dollars. People in my town was standing outside of Gamestop waiting to buy the thing. It just depends on how much your willing to pay.

But what if there are games that is still coming out for the Wii? Then what? Not only that, the games now cost $40.00- $60.00 right now? Many people will hardly ever want to pay that much unless the game is good. New Super Mario Bros. U and Assassin's Creed III may be able to give the Wii U a good start but other than that, people are now thinking more wisely, making sure that they are not wasting money on a game that may be good but ends up not being satisfying in the long run to them.

Wii games will continue to produce and over time. There will be less and less titles released. A new console is meant to stay ahead of the competition, and earn more revenue which inevitably makes the predecessor obsolete.

You wouldn't spend your money on something you don't want. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean people will buy it. I'm not going to buy Dora the Explorer: Dora's Big Birthday Event for $19.99.

If Wii production continues for a much longer time then it should. Nintendo will suffer a lost for Nintendo Wii U that is the reason you don't constantly put your efforts into an old console. Not only are you wasting resources to promote your new product but your losing from the new product not selling.

Never would a sane person want to pay more money.
It just depends on your preference. I'm willing to pay $50-55 dollars for a game as long as its third person shooter, rpg, or action-adventure. Not that I need too because I'm a gamefly member who rents games.

I seriously doubt that. Some maybe rationing money but if most people were like that then our economy would be in some serious trouble.
