How long should I give for everyone to be able to write something? If I make a thread now, with a horror/Halloween theme, could you have your entries in by Halloween? Or would you need longer?

 

It doesn't have to necessarily be HORROR. It could be some type of co-category like a THRILLER or GOTHIC!

 

I'm more concerned with how much time I should allot for submissions. I'm not a creative writer so I don't know what is a comfortable time frame.

 

November 10th. Due:Mid day [Gives us about two weeks time, over two weekends.]

No more than 3 pages in Microsoft Word. [MLA Format.]

Genres: HORROR/THRILLER/GOTHIC

I think that sounds reasonable. For those who only have time on the weekends. Although, I personally believe a week is good enough.

 

I'm going to give a roughly 1000 word limit (I believe that's roughly three Word pages). You can go a little over if you need to, but I don't want people submitting novels. I will not insist on a certain type of formatting.

November 10th sounds good to me if it works for you. I'll ask you to PM me your entries so I can post them anonymously as we did during the last contest.

I'll post a thread momentarily with the theme and rules, and where I'll also post the entries and start the voting on the 11th.

 

Yes, I think that will work given the time of year it is. Winner can choose the next theme.

I will definitely enter so no worries on my part. I love thrillers more than anything. So, I won't pass up this opportunity.

 

Notice is up- I hope you all can see it. Maybe we'll get some more entries and votes this way. And I might as well use my powers of awesome for good.

 

I haven't thought about it that closely, to be honest.

If it weren't a KH site, I wouldn't even care that much, but there be youngsters here. I suppose no very graphic depictions of violence, or potentially triggery things like child abuse or rape, that sort of thing, in addition to no "adult loving stuff" as you put it . Since it's for a contest and we want the majority of the site to feel comfortable reading the entries. Just use your best judgment.

Does that seem fair to you all? I'm very much against censoring and feel people should write whatever they want (because god knows I'll read it, probably), but I want to be as inclusive as possible here.

 

I look forward to reading everyones' stories although I must say. I am winning this contest! ^_^
