Oh no, I'm just pointing out that it has a bug-like design, not necessarily that it's a butterfly.

According to Bulbapedia, I read that Sylveon (Ninfia) is the lightest Eeveelution. It really could be a light type.

And, for the X and Y legendary pokemons, I think they are Xerneas and Yveltal. And the name Xerneas is similar to Xemnas. (?) And, it is the titular pokemon mascot of X and Yveltal being the pokemon mascot of Y.

EDIT: Angel, you spelt Tornadus wrong. Tornadus, not Tornados.

Okay, so the one exception to the Flying type rule is a legendary.

This is the most solid guess towards type using logic I've seen in this thread.

    This one, not so much.

In sound, but not in meaning...

So the whole bug thing or flying type thing is plausible.

honestly, all this talk about a "Light" type pokemon is pissing me off. I just wish everyone would drop it. If a new type is added, then the whole balancing of the game is ruined. We've been fine with the current 17 types this entire time. Any more would ruin the game. And I will say this now: Sylveon is either a Flying type or a Ghost type. Mostly Flying

I agree with you about the light type but it's not like we're hoping for it; it's just another theory. I wouldn't dismiss it seeing as we know hardly anything about the new games.

Mind giving a reason why you think it's one of those types? If it is a flying type, how would it fly? The only way I could think of is the ability to levitate, and then it wouldn't be much of a flying type. I also doubt it could be ghost type because the eeveelutions have always looked very close to their typing, and Sylveon is blue, red and white mostly. It looks nothing like any other ghost type. Not only that, but how would you evolve an Eevee into a ghost type? Whatever you do, the implications would be that you killed the Eevee to make it 'evolve' into a ghost, and I doubt Game Freak would want to risk putting something like that into their game.

The ears of Sylveon. The way the ears are, and with all the color mix, flying seems to be the best bet. As for Ghost, it was a pretty good theory I read online explaining why. Forgot where though

    Thanks.

I admit, that section was a stretch. I was grasping for straws by that part of the post.

Good point. I'm going with either normal, flying or bug type, though I'm leaning towards bug.

I was checking the Pokémon website for no apparent reason and I noticed this pokemon.

    Remind you of any pokemon?

I believe that Mewtwo will be the first legendary to have an evolution chain.

Check this link out. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

I actually believe that it's a new form of mewtwo. Like how Giratina and Kyrem have different forms

It could be envolved in a evolution with Mew and Mewtwo, but its more or likely a new form,

Well, Sylveon's Japanese name is Nymphia... so what type would a nymph fall under? All I know is that it is suppose to come in some new episode soon so we may know what type it is by watching that episode.

Nymphs are usually associated with with wind or forests and even water in different forms of mythology. More or likely, it will be Flying.
