How Many Video Games Do You Own?

Has anybody ever stopped to think about how many video games are in their possession? Some people have to have an absolute ridiculous amount of them.

After thinking about it, I myself have to be the owner of at least 40 of them, across at least 7 different consoles.

I think I have maybe 15 games, for playstation, PS2, and Wii. I'm a pretty pathetic gamer anymore, lol.

Without counting games on PSN or PC games, I have 400 games exactly over 10 systems.

I recently took a course where our first assignment was to list off as many games as we owned in 10 minutes (not limited to video games however). It's an interesting exercise that reminded me that there are a lot of games I still need to finish up.

It's pretty ridiculous, I'd estimate I own several hundred games dating back to the NES. It gets more complicated now however, since I am starting to own a lot of "collection" games that have several games included in them. I'm unsure of whether I should count these as one game or several (The Sega Genesis collection for example, has dozens of games, some of which are 50ish hour RPGs that should be counted in their own right).

Wow, it's impressive how many games most of you own. I probably have maybe 25 games (?)

I basically just have Zelda, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts games. I bought my first Tales game last month (haven't gotten around to playing it yet) because I heard they were good JRPG's, so maybe I'll start collecting those as well.

Which Tales game did you get? They're great, especially Tales of Symphonia.

Though if you're looking for a great JRPG, the mother of all of them is Ni No Kuni - a must play.

EDIT - Just realized I never actually said how many I own. I've been collecting games for nearly 30 years (technically my father started and passed them down) so I've got several hundred...maybe 400-500? It'd be a bit cumbersome to count them. Various games on the NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, N64, GCN, Wii, PSX, PS2, PS3, X360.

To be fair however, I've played all of them except for about a dozen current gen games (each of which require a substantial time investment).

sadly I only own 3 games right now, and they are

    1. Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance 3D
    2. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire
    3. Bravely Default

I don't plan on getting a PS3/XBOX360 but I might get a PS4 for KH3 so for awhile this is all I'll own.

The one I bought was the remake of Tales of Symphonia for the PS3 ! I've heard a lot of great things about this particular Tales game, so I'm hoping that I'll enjoy it :)

Also, forgot to mention that I own Ni No Kuni. I loved the storyline a lot, but what I really enjoyed was the Studio Ghibli movie references !!

The Tales games are all quite good, but I particularly love the anime-cliche-ness for lack of a better word, in Symphonia. It's got your typical anime build (which is great if you love anime, not so great if you're tired of anime), the tough/abusive female lead, the comic relief silly guy, etc. but it's refreshing in that it has a very flawed (but righteous/principled) protagonist for once. Found I could relate very easily to the characters: some were like me, some were like my friends, and the rest were like people I wished I had as friends and would mesh well with. I'm sure that goes for just about anyone playing it!

The plot is also a bit cliche, but if you take it at face value it's a lot of fun, and a very rewarding RPG. And as far as JRPG combat goes, it's quite interactive and also refreshing. It can be difficult, but you even have the option of having fights occur automatically without player input if you want to level up, focus entirely on the story, and/or find a battle particularly difficult.

With some recommendations from friends, I have reached the 500-game point (509, to be precise). The backlog is gigantic.

If I had that many, I know that there would be some that I would never ever play.

    *Bumping for activity. Sue me*

Having recently had my console and games stolen, I currently own 3 physical games: Dragon Age Inquisition, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and ARK. Hoping to restock my collection at some point but I rarely keep a huge amount. I usually trade games after I've beaten them unless I really love them or they are ones I play with other people
