Kingdom Hearts: Daybreak

Quick question. Which "A New Dawn" are you talking about? I participated in one that completely finished. Then again, it was rather long ago.

Anyways, Sho was asking me to jump in this too. So would anybody be against me joining?

 

Cool. So here the characters are. As a side note for them, I don't have much of an intention behind the choice of their keyblades aside from a bit of symbolism.

Name: Voltair

Born of: Darkness

Age: Appears to be in his early 20's

Personality: He acts playful with people, messing with people with an odd sense of humor that may be funny to only himself. He also uses this as a mask to make it harder for people to understand what he's thinking.

Powers, abilities, and strengths:
Being a denizen of the darkness, many of his abilities are related to manipulating the darkness. The wings on his back are created by the darkness, as is his weapon. He could make any kind of weapon he would want using this power but prefers the blade that he makes. In fact, he has made this weapon so many times that he can create it out of darkness in an instant and even imbue it with certain characteristics, such as harming creatures of darkness more than normal weapons of darkness would.

Voltair is also able to use this manipulation of darkness to create illusions, though it isn't something he cares to do too often.

He is also able to use darkness as a projectile attack, essentially spamming bursts of darkness at a target. In addition to that Voltair uses to darkness internally to strengthen his body for offensive and defensive purposes. He is even able to turn his body into darkness for short periods of time, becoming intangible during that time.

Taking inspiration from his internal use of darkness, Voltair has been developing a technique where he absorbs the strength of an opponent's attack and uses it to strengthen himself. This technique is not yet complete and will harm Voltair if he uses it.

Aside from darkness, Voltair's talents fall within the realm of the mind. He is able to project his thoughts into another person's mind, giving him the chance to have conversations with people that cannot be heard by anybody else. When doing that he is able to read the mind of whoever he is conversing with.

A more advanced form of this telepathy is a technique Voltair developed that enables his consciousness to dive into another person's. This is a great way to understand a person's deepest thoughts or even communicate with somebody who is asleep or comatose.

Finally, Voltair is a synthesis master. He can create powerful potions and other items as long as he has the proper ingredients.

Weakness: Light hurts. That tends to happen the further in the darkness somebody goes. Voltair also has a habit of not taking his fights seriously, which can lead to mistakes or missed chances to end it quickly.

Bio: He is a mysterious person. Rumors have given him plenty of feats without any way to check their authenticity. People have interacted with him for various things, but very few can actually say they know his personal life.

Name: Raven

Born of: Light

Age: Also appears to be in her early 20's

Personality: Raven tends to be a sarcastic person when she chooses to speak. She tends to have some trust issues, so the sarcasm is meant as a way to deal with that and keep people at a distance. Those who have gotten past that distance may find out more of her depths, but she uses her sarcasm more for humor with those people.

Powers, abilities, and strengths:
Raven is incredibly skilled in physical fighting, but her true strength lies with magic. She is able to perform spells that take years to master and she is able to fire them in rapid succession. She is equally skilled in offensive and defensive spells.

Another type of attack she likes to use is something she calls "Light Compression." The attack seems simple enough: Raven gathers light energy at a certain point until the energy becomes unstable. She then unleashes that energy on an enemy, causing what could potentially become an explosion of light concentrated on a target.

Raven is also able to be incredibly silent when she chooses to. She usually is when she is guarding Sophia and people aren't always aware that she is near Sophia.

Weakness: As a counterpoint to darkness' weakness to light, Raven has an odd interaction with darkness. Assuming the darkness is able to get past her light, darkness filled with malice and ill will causes short but intense pain. She is normally able to use her light to quickly remove any darkness harming her, but if there was a time where she was continually being harmed by darkness it becomes a real possibility that she would become incapacitated by it.

Bio: According to Raven, her life is the kind of success story people tend to dream of. Supposedly she was from a homeless family and grew up on the streets. As the story goes, her family eventually died and she was left all alone. Nowhere to go and facing the very real possibility of dying alone, a young Raven decided to sneak into the castle in the Twilight Realm. Undoubtedly though, she was caught.

The king and queen were impressed with her and instead of punishing her, they decided to have Raven trained as a palace guard. Raven grew as a guard and the king and queen decided to have Raven be one of Sophia's personal guards.

Unfortunately there are holes in this story of Raven's supposed past. As far as some people know, one day Raven was suddenly chosen as one of Sophia's guard and anything that happened before that is purely speculation. The only people who can verify Raven's story are the king and queen. Since they were murdered, it is entirely possible nobody will ever know what Raven's past was really like.

I'm not one to complain, though I do admit the no twilight powers rule did pop into my head when I read this part. That being said, KoD seems to have no complaints, so neither shall I.

I have no idea what his backstory is. You don't need to type it out though. Some links pointing towards the backstory is enough and I can then read it up on my own.
