Weather: what's it like where you are?

It was 9 Celsius today with some overcast.

It was dreary outdoors, but I still went for a walk up some trails on the mountain. For the most part I stayed indoors, warm in a blanket. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'm not looking forward to it.

It's late, so it's comfortable outside now, but earlier it got really hot, especially for this time of year. This does not bode well for summer. v_v

Anyone else currently being pummeled around by Winter Storm Jonas, or whatever they're calling it? Less than 30 degree weather, it's been snowing for like the past 18 hours straight, intermittent power loss, and a snowed in car+icy roads the city won't be bothered to plow means I won't be going anywhere for a while. Northerners, don't laugh at me; I know you're used to it and it sucks way more up there.

On the plus side, snow day!

    ^ Me, every winter.

I'm not sure how much we've gotten so far, maybe a foot? I've only been outside a few times, earlier, and it was pretty deep then, but I could still walk in it. It's probably more now. I know that's not much compared to the snow places like upstate New York get, but we're not used to this mess down here.

However, I've discovered snow cream, which is pretty good and makes up for being stuck at home, a little.

Gee. Everyone is getting hit with something, except New England. Well, until tomorrow. We had some snow mixed with freezing rain a few weeks ago, but other than that, just a few dustings. Tomorrow my area is supposedly getting around five inches; we're in the 5-8" range according to the weather channel, but we all know how seriously we can really take those predictions.

And so we go from the blizzard of the century (shut up, Northerners!) to friggin' sunny, 60 degree F weather. Not that I'm complaining about the sun, and not having to wear a jacket, but c'mon. Make up your mind what season it is, Mother Nature! Stick with winter and get it over with as soon as possible.

It's dumb and confusing. Morning/evenings are chilly while the afternoons are gross and hot. But hey, that's Florida.

I lived in Florida for 17 years. That's an accurate account of the weather there. XD

Where I am now, it's actually a beautiful day. Sunny, and in the low 60s. We keep having these random bursts of nice weather, followed by rounds of nasty cold rain/snow that keep us in the house all day. So today's our nice day for the week.

The weathers refusal to turn Fall worries me tbh. Usually means it'll go to winter overnight and it'll suck.

It's kind of like fall. The 60s for highs and 40s for lows we've been seeing in southern KY is pretty decent weather. However, I did hear that the winter is supposed to be a harsh one, so you're probably right about the overnight winter and the sucking.

T-T Those nice cool weathers are too late though. It's how kentucky weather is. A late fall weather like now is usually a very bad sign for later. Sometimes fall lasts too long and then winter wont let spring come too.

Yeah, last year winter lasted forever, and I think I remember there not being much of a fall because summer just kept on, just like this year so far. v_v It'd be nice this year if I didn't get snowed in, and also if the road crews would learn how to plow a road properly so people can actually drive on them when it inevitably ices over. *not gonna hold my breath*

haha You minds well give up on the road crew. I've lived here for 25yrs and I've never not known them to be useless. Then again I knew few that are here. My area is full of the "lovely" first of the month bum and drug addicts.

My county only has a couple plows, so they don't get much done. And I don't know, but it seems like all they do is scrape the snow off the roads and leave the ice exposed, which to me seems to make it more dangerous than if they'd just left the roads alone. And they only seem to salt the roads when they don't actually need to. Hell, I was down in Nashville the other day, and they were already salting I-65, for literally no reason. Plus, basically everything shuts down every damn time there's snow, because the south just isn't prepared for that, despite us getting snow at least once a year for most of the 10 years I've been living here.

    Looking forward to winter. >_<

A lot of counties are like that due to how poor the state is or how pitiful the drugged populace are sadly. Like my grandpas house burnt down a few years ago and they didn't even have water in the truck when they got here.
haha I love how they do that state wide then make news of "salt shortages" every year. It's rather ridiculous and honestly its' best if it all shuts down so you dont have to drive in the poorly handled roads.

Tonight is rainy and windy and miserable, and I'm getting tired of this weather, which doesn't look to be stopping any time soon.

But at least maybe the rain will help put out the fires in Gatlinburg before the whole place burns to the ground.

Tbh I'm mad the fires are burning everything while leaving my shitty town in tact.
I'm not minding the wind and rain though. The fact that it's been so abnormally warm even up till yesterday is a worse concern for me. In kentucky weather if something is out of whack for such a long duration the odds are something worse is around it's corner.

Today was actually kind of nice, although it is starting to get a bit chilly. Maybe the weather is starting to get on track to where it should be for this time of the year.
