Merrick breathed long and deep then exhaled slowly. They had made good time arriving in Barisor before the nights end. Travelling so far in such a short amount of time would have completely exhausted Merrick if not for Tess lending him some of her strength. The two had taken shelter in a barn, not the best smelling of places but it was warm, dry and other than some animals empty. Tess was away doing some reconnaissance and trying to confirm where exactly in the city Jaxx and Lilith were.

One of the horses let out a snort and began pawing at the ground. “You were right. They were exactly where you said they would be” Tess said moving to sit beside Merrick. “They are deep in the city. It will be difficult to get them out unnoticed.” “We’ll kill anyone who gets in our way” “Or, we kill the giantess and blame it on these barbarians. No one need know” Merrick looked at Tess in response. “No harm in asking” she said with a shrug. “No point in making a move now, the barbarians are on high alert.” Merrick gave a slight nod. “Here, build up your strength” Tess said handing Merrick some sticks of dried food. The two ate in silence, neither of them really having an appetite. “You want to take the first watch?” Tess said taking a water flask and having a long drink. She put her hand out to pass it to her brother. “Merrick?” Looking over Tess saw he’d fallen asleep. He still had a piece of dried meat in his mouth. Tess shook her head and with a slight smile moved closer to remove the food. She sat down beside Merrick and moved him so his head was resting on her lap. She watched as his chest moved in a steady rhythm. It had been a long time since the two of them had been working alone. Travelling with the group was exhausting. They slowed the two down and most of them were extremely disagreeable. “I wish you’d forget this fool’s errand and leave with me” Tess whispered. “There is nothing here for us”. Merrick shifted in his sleep and Tess thought she saw a hint of frown on his face. She shook her head once more and using her ability searched for anyone nearby before slowly closing her eyes.

Zamir stood at the prow of the ship. He and his men were heading back to Barisor to regroup with his father. Ilda had been ungrateful to him for saving her life, but he would soon prove her wrong. He would be King. The winds had favoured the travellers and the sea was calm. They would reach the city before dawn. Zamir looked forward to telling his father of his exploits and his defeat of the Emperors worthless general. Yes, he would make a fine King.

    * *

“Godless bastard!” Zamir shouted storming into the hall. Finnan and his Jarls were stood around a table in discussion. “You dare take my place as King!” he yelled storming through the gathered Jarls and flipping the table so he could truly face Finnan. “I am the son of Haldor Lothbrok it is my birthright! What say you Finnan Loch!” Zamir spat the name with venom. He stood but a few feet from the man who had usurped his inheritance as leader of his people. The Jarls had given the young Lothbrok a wide berth, only Sithtric sporting a freshly broken nose and blackened eye stood by his Kings side to intercede should the need arise.

Finnan took a deep breath and let it out as a sigh. He was in no mood to deal with the yipping pup. His men had failed to retrieve the prisoners and the bastard general Lucius had not moved far from the city. He expected an attack come sunrise. Looking up at the snarling face in front of him Loch lost any patience he had left. Cracking his neck Sithtric stood aside. He knew his lord well enough to know he wouldn’t want any interference. “What say you!?” Zamir seethed again bearing his teeth. Loch threw a fist and heard bone crunch as he met his mark. Zamir’s nose burst in a brilliance of blood. Staggered by the unexpected blow he didn’t have time to defend himself let alone retaliate as Finnan continued to rain blows down on the man. Finnan finally relented when Zamir was in a state near unconsciousness. “Remove yourself from my presence before I kill you for treason!”Loch spoke in a low threatening tone. “You are not worthy to call yourself King let alone the son of Haldor Lothbrok.” Zamir lay unmoving on the floor. Two of the Jarls moved to pick the man up. Once on his feet Zamir shrugged himself free of them. “This isn’t over” Zamir said spitting at Loch’s feet. “I will have my vengeance”. With that he turned and left the hall.

“What happened my lord?” a Karl said as Zamir passed. Without warning Zamir yelled his frustration. Grabbing the man by the neck he pinned him to a wall and punched, again and again until his own hand hurt. Releasing the man Zamir continued on his path to nowhere.

Jaxx continued to mentally berate herself for the awkwardness that had ensued upon waking up. Dumb Lilith and her smugness over the situation hadn't helped much either. Still, Jaxx would have to shrug it off for the moment. She had other things to worry about if she intended to stay alive until she was able to get herself and Lilith out of the city or Raven was able to find her. What a mess...
She examined the entrance to the arena prison, pushing her worries to the back of her mind by distracting herself with the task at hand.
The labyrinth inside would help for the most part even if the patrol had managed to find this place. But still, having some subtle way of knowing someone was coming would be nice in case they needed to prepare to fight or run away. With that in mind, got to work wandering the halls looking for anything that she could use to set a basic trap. It didn't take long before she heard something that startled her. A woman's voice. Shit... how did they find us already!?

"It was quite shocking really. I could have sworn Loch would have kept going until he was dead the poor lad."

Another voice, much more obviously male, responded to the first "Poor? Yeah it's no secret the pup wanted to be king. He went on about it all the way back from Carmella Sar! He was a fool to think King Haldor would ever willingly pass his legacy on to the likes of hi- OOF What the 'ell was that for?"

"You shouldn't speak ill of the son of our fallen king! He still commands you, you know."

"Heh... for now. Doubtful Loch lets him keep a damn thing after his display this morning."

Jaxx crept back into one of the holding cells as the two enemies passed. She was relieved to see that whoever they were, they clearly had no idea Lilith and Jaxx might be there. Still, she was wary. The two were obviously a part of the same tribe as the rest of the barbarians.

"Can't say I blame him for being upset. Wasn't told his father died, let alone offered to claim his birthright."

"Ah! Haldor never considered the pup his blood... Now, I'd say we're alone enough don't you? Doesn't look like this place has been touched since before I left with the pup and grand chieftain."

"Oh it hasn't. No one has found it yet and even if they had, who would bother searching it? It's a god damned maze..."

Jaxx paused, listening to the two as they were suddenly dead silent. Confused, she peaked her head out of the room only to instantly blush and quickly back away back into the room. Both of the intruders were clearly soldiers in the enemies armies. Though Jaxx was quick to realize they weren't down here searching for Jaxx and Lilith. They were lovers trying to get away from their duties to be alone. Still, this could be bad. If Lilith came out for any reason, they would easily be able to spot her. She would have to go back and warn her.

Trying to think of ways to do just that, Jaxx's mission was unfortunately cut short by the sound of the woman speaking again. "Even if they had, who would bother searching...." she sounded thoughtful. At first Jaxx didn't get it, and clearly her companion didn't either. "Yeah... lucky us." his head clearly no longer invested in the conversation.

    "No, you idiot! Lucky them."

"What on earth are you going on about, woman?"

    "The prisoners you gobshite!"

    "What about them?"

"Ugh! It's a good thing you're handsome because there is nothing but rocks in your head. We've searched everywhere for those two! But no one knows about this place but us! Come on we have to tell Loch!"

Jaxx listened to the two of them run away back to give away their position. She cursed, realizing there was no time to go back to get help from Lilith. She would have to go after them herself and kill them both before it was too late. Grabbing her sword, she took off running after the both of them.

In spite of her injuries, Jaxx was still quite fast and didn't have very far to catch up to them. She drew back her father sword and took a swing for one of the legs of the nearest one, the woman, who was caught unaware of her state of danger. She let out a startled scream as the sword bit deep into her calf and she fell over forward and rolled over to examine the damage, furious eyes meeting Jaxx's. "I knew it!" she bellowed, ignoring the injured leg as though it was nothing and grabbing a knife. She lunged back to her feet and toward Jaxx intent on stabbing her. Jaxx managed to avoid the blade, noticing the blood on her own was red. Jaxx felt some relief at that. At least this would be an easy battle. The man had also noticed Jaxx's presence and also stepped forward to help his ally. His attack, Jaxx wasn't prepared for. The man ran forward and used the force of his whole body to slam into Jaxx, tackling her to the ground. He grabbed a knife, pressing it against her throat "I'm going to make you regret what you just did before I take you back to our king." he spoke with venom. "but before I do, where is the giantess?" he added threat to his question by pressing the blade of the knife dangerously close to Jaxx's skin.

Surprisingly, it didn't take long for Lilith to come across a viable water source. A small fountain meant to clean off the dirt and wounds from the battles above... Not necessarily the cleanest of waters, but it would serve to keep them hydrated until they could procure something better. She gazed down at her chest and smirked, the idea of Jaxx grasping it was still fresh in her mind, and despite the scenario at hand, she was absolutely reveling in the feeling. It was... odd, given the circumstances, but she believed she was within her right to be a bit smug about Jaxx losing her composure like she did.

Regardless, now was not the time for such thoughts, certainly. She had found a water supply, and it would be prudent to relay this to Jaxx as soon as possible so they could begin preparations for their... extended stay. As she made her way back, she couldn't help but marvel at the design of the underground area, it was certainly built to hold the most dangerous of people, but even so, people like Lilith and Jaxx were... rarer in appearance in places such as these. Demigods always were in a class of their own after all.

She let her mind wander, only for it to be interrupted by a piercing scream. Taking a sharp breath, Lilith broke into a sprint in the direction of the sound, her mind racing at the idea of what she may find. Had Jaxx been discovered? Was she hurt? As wounded as she was, if enough people discovered her she could be in grave danger. The idea of her companion being in trouble simply spurred Lilith on, as she ignored the pain in her leg and pressed forward, easily covering a great distance in little time. As she rounded a corner, she found Jaxx pinned to the ground by a man, with a knife to her throat, and a woman above also brandishing a knife.

Anger. Her response was immediate. With a snarl, Lilith barreled toward the two, catching their attention just as she was upon them. She grabbed them both by the head and as they squirmed in her grasp, cutting at her wrists with their blades, all she could see was red, and she slammed their heads into each other with such force, that they practically exploded on impact, killing them instantly, and spraying blood all around them. Breathing deeply, Lilith dropped the corpses and turned to Jaxx, crouching down and looking her over.

    "Are you alright?"

Jaxx spat on the face of the man who was crouched above her. But she didn't have time to speak in response as the man was dragged off of Jaxx and into the air. Jaxx was only left confused for a moment as she propped herself up on her hands, reaching for her sword. Noticing Lilith, she froze as both of their heads were smashed together. Jaxx's face was spattered by red and silver blood as both of the enemies were killed simultaneously. Getting over the initial shock, Jaxx's eyes locked on Lilith's. The concern evident in Lilith's face was somewhat endearing though Jaxx immediately dismissed it. "Yeah, I'm fine. And I didn't need your help I would have-" she cut herself off, unsure what to say next. She sighed, "-I would have figured something out." She spoke, wiping the blood from her face and from her sword using a bit of cloth from her clothes.

Lilith smiled lightly, and got to her feet, rubbing at her wrists as silver blood dripped from them... "He was a demigod." She muttered, as she gazed at the broken corpse oozing silver blood. "It may have proven a difficult feat even for you, though I've seen you get through worse. I'm sure you're right, you'd have been fine." Turning away, she sighed, "I found water... It's a fountain used to clean up after combat. Not the tastiest, or cleanest, but it'll certainly do for now until we can find something better..."

Jaxx was a bit surprised Lilith didn't even bother arguing her point when scolded for helping. It defused Jaxx's temper and even made her slightly embarrassed for her own outburst. "Oh... well good." She responded after a brief pause. "Well I guess what we need now is supplies. I'll need proper bandages to redress our wounds and we will need food at some point as well..." she paused, looking around at the rooms "haven't had much luck down here considering no one was meant to be held down here long enough for those concerns. I'll have to go out there to find them while you secure the entrance so we don't get any more visitors."

Lilith nodded her head, before looking one final time at the bodies... Kill or be killed... That's what Lilith and Jaxx faced. Despite being angry, Lilith made the choice to kill the two people in front of her. There was a lesson to be learned in all of this... If she was to survive to take out Atticus, she'd need to swallow her pride and follow along with Jaxx. And in that respect, she'd likely not seen her last corpse in the depths of Barrisor.

"What do you propose we do? There's always a chance we could sneak some supplies from the city... And before you point out I'm far too large and would get caught easily, I'm also far stronger, and can carry more supplies in a single run. If we choose to go about it this way, certainly, it will be more prudent for you to go out more frequently, and I can go once in a while to get a large set of supplies for an extended time period. We haven't a clue how long we'll be here... And while we can hope it isn't long, we need to be prepared for anything, right?"

Jaxx considered Liliths words. She was correct in that Jaxx's first instinct was to leave Lilith behind to scout alone. But one single trip would make things much faster. The only issue would be that Liliths size would make stealth much more difficult, which limited where they could go without being caught. Still.... She glanced at the bodies on the ground, ...in our current states Lilith can make much quicker work of anyone who happened to spot us than I could alone.
Even still, Jaxx would prefer to go alone. But she knew Lilith would insist anyway. She sighed "ok... we go together. Let's find a room to stash them in, then we'll go." She gestured toward the bodies and the two of them got to work.

Paige yawned, stretching her arms over her head as she stepped up from behind Kable and listened to his comment. It had been a while since she'd been to Barisor. The sheer size of the city was still a surprise to Paige no matter how many times she visited it. It made the great wall that surrounded it all the more impressive. Aside from a few outposts and outlying homes, the city was completely encased in the massive structure. On top of it, she could see a couple of dozen massive soldiers scouting the perimeter. From this distance she could tell a majority of them were much larger than the average Azureth citizen. Even still, they looked tiny compared to the wall.

Below, the imperial army swarmed the outside searching for a way in. She finished her yawn as she spoke at the same time "This would be much easier if they just dropped into there. This would have been one hell of a city to take. Meaning that this army has brains... that makes them harder to get past. Good thing you have me here huh?" she winked before turning to Voltair.

"So, what is the plan anyway oh fearless leader?"

    --------------------------

"Your grace sent for me?" the assassin woman's smirk was annoyingly evident. She knew she had gotten what she wanted and she made no secret of it. If he was any less of a decent man, Atticus would have knocked the grin from her face with one well placed bolt. But that would only serve to soothe his pride, and ruin negotiations with her clan leader. So he stayed his hand by balling it firmly on top of the tilted back rest of the broken throne beside him.
He looked her over with a critical eye. The garb she had chosen for today's audience was a vast improvement from the various pieces of imperial armor stolen from Atticus's own fallen men she had worn the day before. Dressed casually and mostly in black, with her hair pinned up, Atticus could almost recognize her as a proper woman again. Almost. There was no getting past those teeth or that damned grin. Still, mentally insulting her wouldn't stop her from knowing she had won negotiations, so he steeled himself and cleared his throat.

"Yes. Tell your master I've considered his terms, and accept them. I will fulfill his demands in return for his assistance on one condition...."

Roxanne appeared amused slightly but stifled her chuckle, shifting her weight to one side with a hand on her opposite hip. "Condition?"

"The terms will remain untouched for the most part. Your clan will be allowed their independence, and the usurper will face justice among his own kind. But the girl's life belongs to me." This time it was Atticus's turn to be amused as Roxanne finally appeared surprised.

Roxanne's initial confusion was more apparently than she would have liked. What could the emperor possibly want with the likes of her? Whatever it was, Roxanne was confident that there was no way her master would agree to the terms. So she would humor the emperor for the moment "Your grace has given my master much to consider. I will deliver the message and you shall have your answer within the week."

"Good then. You and your comrades will be given whatever you need for your travels back to wherever your master has holed up now." The emperor motioned toward a servant near the door, who darted off to see that the emperor's promise was seen to. Right behind him, Roxanne also left through the door eager to be away from this god forsaken palace at last.

Atticus had only a moment's peace before a soldier appeared at the door. "Yes? Enter." Atticus spoke to the newcomer without really looking at him.

"Sir! Preparations have been made for your departure for Barisor. And your regent has confirmed they are ready to assume command of the house in your absence."

"Good. See to it that woman and her filthy comrades are long gone. At that time, we shall make our leave."

Rocking to and from with the motion of a rough-sailing ship, Marcus Maximus’ balance began to give way against an abnormal tide. Strange, how powerful that woman was, he thought as he braced against violent push from the undertow. Even after nearly two days, and now, a full day’s span inland along the river, the storm from Carmila Sar retained its pull on the currents, sending the occasional ripple of waves up to the surface. “To be expected of a Demi-Goddess,” he said, after being thrown back upon his cot by yet another surge. “If only we had saved a larger ship,” he spat. “Surely something more robust would stand better against these currents.”

In solemn silence, the Colonel lay back down upon his extended bedding, deciding to end his futile resistance and await the ship’s landfall. In spite of his musing of more suitable vessels, the nagging in the back of his mind made sure to remind him that the means of transportation had less to do with his imbalance as he was pretending. With a sudden, descending feeling in the pit of his chest, he set a blistered, gnarled hand upon his forehead. “Damn her to Orcus!” shouted, ripping his palm from scared bruise upon his forehead. “And Damn him there too!” he added, setting it upon the pained corner of his chest where the spear of an interloper had nearly driven him through. “Cheap shots… no honor to speak of…” he muttered.

“Retreat,” the word lashed out from his memory like a ninetailed whip. “We retreat to the Le Melr Blockade!” He slammed a bare fist against the hull next to his bunk. To think that such words could have ever escaped his mouth. “She should have killed me where I stood,” he mumbled, masking a sweat-drenched face behind his hands. “With it, or on it.” He glared to his shield, emblazoned with the Imperial regalia. “There can be no other way.”

“Colonel Maximus?” a voice called from the other side of the cabin door, accompanied soon after by a frantic knocking.

“WHAT?” Marcus bellowed, more than angrily.

“We-I-The ship is about to make landfall at the blockade.” The voice said, noticeably shaken by the Colonels’ outrage. The owner, fearing for his own safety, fled after delivering the news, the pattering of his feet resonating dully across the deck.

Laboring to his feet upon the still-swaying ship, Marcus found way to his spear, using it as a crutch as he emerged from his cabin.

Pathetic. It was his first thought, his first impression upon viewing the scene aboard the ship. What had once been a proud, strong regiment of over four thousand had been dealt a devastating blow. Upon the deck of his ship, the officer accounted for one hundred outside, with about fifty more still huddled below deck. Four other ships with similar head counts traveled in tow with the one he was on; nearly a quarter of his forces either slain or routed from the main force, and what had become of the troops already stationed in Carmila Sar was a guaranteed loss.

While the loss of life, and the splitting of a regiment was to be anticipated in the wake of such a battle, the atmosphere that lingered told a story of dismay and depression; the Regiment under Marcus Maximus was not used to being defeated like that. Even in their most trying of times, even when forced to withdraw, they had always done so for tactical purposes, and quickly regained their footing, as though they had planned to have been fighting at a loss. From the desperate expressions upon the faces of his troops, Marcus could see that none of them were sure how to reflect on their experience from the preceding day and night… and he was of no help, being at a greater loss still.

Yet, there seemed, at least some solace on the near horizon: as the mouth of the river drew closer, the span of the great sea, Le Melr revealed itself well-guarded by a swiftly coalesced, and growing naval blockade. If Marcus had done just one thing right in the past three days, sending word of the invasion back to the western Empire was it. With the fleet amassed from the northeast shores of Le Melr alone, even Ilda’s armies would be foolish to push further inland so soon.

Perhaps, Marcus thought as the ship came to dock. There’s still time. But where to go from here?

    “We rest here for today,”
he said to all who could hear. “Relax, replenish, nourish, and prepare while it’s still light. We bed down at nightfall. Come dawn, we march.”

Zamir had wandered deep into the city destroying anything he could get his hands on as he went. More than one unfortunate soul had crossed his path. Whether they were part of his army or one of the pitiful scum that call this land home he didn’t care. They all felt his wrath. None of it went towards quelling the anger he burning inside. He’d arrived to Barisor to find his father dead and that cur Loch had laid claim to his throne and armies. Not only had he taken his birthright but when challenged on it he had underhandedly beaten on him. Zamir would not allow that slight to go unanswered. Yes, Finnan would pay. And Zamir would claim his rightful place as King among his people.

Zamir washed his face in the water barrel he’d happened upon. Grabbing his nose with his index finger and thumb he heard it cracking as he straightened it. Exhaling a fresh blob of blood from his nostril Zamir took another handful of water and washed his face. Slumping against the wall Zamir leaned back looking up into the sky. Finnan would pay. No he just needed to decide how. Zamir chewed on a multiple of grisly and painful ways that he could dethrone Loch. Smiling to himself at one he was particularly proud of Zamir was disturbed from his thoughts by the sound of someone approaching.

“You should have woken me” Merrick said pacing a beam in the barn they were in. “I tried. But you were having none of it” Tess replied with a smile. “Besides. I slept just fine” she said he smile broadening. She knew Merrick wouldn’t be happy that she’d let her guard down like that, but he didn’t have any ground to stand on and he knew it. “Come, let’s get this over with” Merrick said making his way to window they had climbed in. “We are nearly finished” He said smiling at Tess.

Lilith and Jaxx had made quick work of disposing of the bodies using Lilith's strength and a garbage chute they had found in one of the rooms. Both girls felt somewhat guilty about disposing of the bodies in such a way. But they agreed there was no other way of getting rid of them that wouldn't draw attention. For now, it would have to do.
Jaxx considered a plan while the two wandered out to the entrance. Lilith's height would make traveling through the city without being seen difficult to say the least. And without Raven's powers cloaking her this time, it would be impossible. The best option would be to try to skirt around the outer edges of the city, keeping to the alleys and trying to move between guard shifts. She relayed her thoughts to Lilith.
"We will move slowly. And I'm going to take the lead. Because I'm not freakishly tall, it will be easier for me to stay hidden to scout ahead to make sure the path is clear. On my signal, you follow when it's safe, whenever I think is necessary. Got it?" Jaxx allowed herself a moment of rare pride in her height, as it would be much more useful in this case.

Lilith pouted as Jaxx insulted her height, it wasn't her fault she was wicked tall. She didn't ask to be born as a 4 foot baby. Wincing at the thought, she sighed and shrugged, allowing Jaxx to take the lead. "So be it, I suppose. Maybe my size will come in handy one day too." she added that least bit with sarcasm. Smooth comeback Lilith... Real smooth.

Jaxx allowed herself to pause and glance at Lilith incredulously over her shoulder "Like by ripping two attackers off of me and destroying them with nothing but your hands?" she scoffed "Recognize your strengths, Lilith. How can you expect to be of any use if you can't do that?" With the backhanded compliment out of the way, Jaxx led the way into the streets of the city. The execution of their plan was clumsy at best for the first few tries. But they managed to get to the outskirts of the city without too much trouble.

That was... actually pretty sweet of her honestly. Lilith let herself smile at the compliment, despite it being a bit backhanded. Following Jaxx onto the streets of the city, she looked around and to her disappointment, found nothing of value to them. That is until they rounded a corner where a suspicious looking barrel lay waiting for them to gaze upon its contents. "Hey, Jaxx, look over there. It's a barrel."

Jaxx rolled her eyes "I see that. Of course it's a barrel you idiot!" she whispered back impatiently. "Wait here. I'm going to go see if it contains anything useful." She used a hand motion to emphasize her meaning before creeping off to investigate Lilith's find. She was a bit disappointed to see the wooden container only held water. Useless... She cursed herself slightly and was about to turn around to leave. But when she looked up, she gasped as she made direct eye contact with a massive man who happened to be sitting against the wall on the other side of the barrel. Afraid they had been caught, she instantly reached for her knife.

"I'm not an idiot..." Lilith pouted, but remained behind as she was told, that is until Jaxx went and got herself caught. Oh but Lilith, you're the idiot. Hmph. That'll teach you to be a jerk to your ally. Despite her thoughts, Lilith stepped out and approached Jaxx, ready to fight if necessary.

Raven leaned against the wall of a barn, watching the foreign warriors scouting the upper wall of Barisor from a distance. She, Gerik, and Claire had arrived hours ago thanks to Raven's teleportation. Considering Raven had never attempted to teleport that distance before, let alone with multiple people, she was a bit surprised about how easy it had been. There was a noticeably larger drain on her energy than normal, which was to be expected, but not as bad as she had thought it would be.
Her first action upon arrival was to get Gerik and Claire somewhere close but hidden before she disappeared and re appeared inside the city, cloaking herself by redirecting the light around her body. Without being familiar with the city of Barisor, she couldn't be sure where exactly in the city she had seen the girls. Only that they were here. With that to go on, she listened in on a few conversations from guards to determine that Jaxx was at least safe for the moment. She had evaded capture and was hiding somewhere within the city. It was a good and a bad thing. If they were still in the prison, Raven would have been able to find them more easily. Maybe even go to the leader and try to barter or challenge him for their release. With Jaxx having escaped capture, she would more likely be able to rescue them without the hassle of fighting... that is if she could find them. Satisfied for the moment with the information she had managed to find, her next order of business was to find the assassins.
While scouting the outer edge of the city, Raven did happen to notice that Lilith's allies had also managed to arrive rather quickly. She watched them for a few moments, making sure to keep a fair distance to avoid being noticed. Their presence could complicate things. She would have to keep wary of that. With that in mind, she turned and continued her search for her allies.
It didn't take much longer to find the barn where Tess and Merrick lie resting. It was there that she stopped, and waited for them to emerge. When they did, she spoke without really taking her eyes off of the enemies on the wall. "Good, you're awake."

"Your useless grandpa ain't done shit for you!" Voltair randomly yelled, surprising Paige, Kable, and Oryx. He looked at their blank stares from his sudden outburst. "Umm... Sorry. I had this odd feeling that Lilith was saying something... Really stupid. Just a thought. Anyways... Getting in?"

He paused again as he thought what the group should do. "Well, given that you three won't let me go at the gate directly clearly the only option left is for me to throw you three over the wall." He could see their protests to his random idea forming on their faces. "Come on, no arguments, it'll be fun. Let's see, for starters..." Voltair randomly tracing some shape with his finger in the air, a small trail of darkness following. This was done to provide a distraction for the illusion he was about to place them in. Once he finished this, admittedly useless, action, he spoke up again. "Okay, so first things first, now as long as you stay close to me our enemies shall not see us. Come on." He began walking towards the wall, beckoning the group to follow.

Once they came into the open near the wall, there was hesitation from everyone but Voltair. "Come on guys. Trust me when I say they won't see us. Here, watch." Voltair picked up a rock and threw it at a guard who was scouting the perimeter. The rock hit the guard square in the head.

"Hey! Which one of you bastards threw something at me!" He yelled towards the other guards in his group, completely oblivious to Voltair standing out in the open near the base of the wall.

"See?" He said, motioning his head for them to follow him again.

Once reaching an unoccupied portion of the wall Voltair again stopped and looked at the group. "Alrighty then. Ladies first." Before Paige could provide any opposition Voltair grabbed her by her waist and tossed her upwards, her body feeling weightless as she continued to rise into the air without falling down. "Next." He spoke before tossing Kable and Oryx upwards as well.

As each person cleared the top of the wall, the weightless feeling dissipated and enabled them to land on top of the wall. Voltair landed last, smiling as he landed. "See, fun stuff. Anyways, now that we're here it should be easy enough to find them. Let's see..." He closed his eyes, trying to look like he was deep in thought. "They should be somewhere in that direction." Voltair pointed towards a spot in the city. He then pointed towards the temple of Neptune, where Finnan was located. "I'm bored, so I'm going to make my way over there. I'll try to catch up with you guys once you find Lilith and Jaxx. Oh, and I might as well warn you that once we're far enough apart people will be able to see you again. So do be careful. Have fun." Ignoring the stairs, Voltair jumped off the wall into the city and began walking towards the temple.

"Gerik, why are we always left behind?" Claire asked after Raven had left them.

"Does it bother you?" He replied, answering her question with another.

"Kind of. I was busy showing Tess stuff and then her brother takes her away to go without us. And then once Raven brings us here she has us hide here and then leaves.

"I see. I've noticed you've taken quite the liking to Tess. Almost more than me. I think I might be a little jealous."

"Don't be." She glared and spoke with a deadpan tone. "Tess is a girl, so it is different talking to her than it is talking to you. That doesn't mean I like her more than you."

    "I see." Gerik laughed.

"Gerik, you're ignoring my question again. You do that a lot." She spoke again, realizing that Gerik had attempted to change her earlier subject. "Why do we get left behind?"

"You know Claire, left behind isn't the proper term to use. We're in a very dangerous area. So we are keeping you safe by keeping you away from the danger. Once Raven finds Jaxx she'll come and get us and we will put this dangerous place behind us."

"I... See..." Claire replied softly, thoughts of the attack on her home beginning to surface.

"Come on, it's fine Hey, let's play a game to pass the time." Gerik spoke, trying to keep Claire's focus away from whatever it was she was thinking.

Merrick’s body had tensed when he heard the voice talking to him. Realising it was Raven he allowed himself to relax and put his dagger away. “Put it away Tess”. Tess had moved behind Raven and was holding her own blade at the woman’s throat. Whether she didn’t realise or didn’t care Tess couldn’t tell. But she was glad to have gotten behind her. “You really should think twice before sneaking up on us” Tess said putting the weapon away. “You made good time. Left the stragglers behind I see”. “Don’t worry about them” Raven replied. “They are someplace safe”. “I wasn’t and I don’t” Tess replied making her way to Merrick. “Emperors soldiers have the barbarians on high alert. Getting those fools out without being spotted won’t be possible. Merrick and you can go collect the impudent children and I’ll get to work on clearing an escape route. Meet back here when you have them.” With that Tess patted Merrick on the shoulder and headed off out of site. Merrick and Raven stood a moment longer and with a subtle nod Merrick began heading off in the direction they had seen them in.

    *

Zamir looked the girl in the eye and noted she reached for a weapon when the giantess stepped out from her hiding spot. “Piss off” Zamir said after a moment’s tense silence turning his attention back to nothing. He was shaking as he always did when he came down from a blood rage. “Fucking Finnan letting his fucking prisoners escape. Dumb bitch’s could at least do me the favour of killing the prick.” He mumbled mostly to himself. He looked at the two of them again “That is if the dumbasses don’t get themselves killed, running around like dickheads unwittingly into enemies. Fucking idiots.”

“Go on piss off!” Zamir yelled at the two again “I am in no mood for you!”

    *

Finnan rubbed his hand down his face. He was in no mood for this idiocy. “Shut it!” he said firmly as the group made their way to the top of the battlement. They stood on top of the gate where the gore of the previous fight stank. They watched as men prepared themselves getting ready to attack the city. The fool of a general had been trying to find a way into the city for quite some time now despite his warning of what would happen to the emperor’s daughter. “Build and executioners stand right here” Finnan said. “And by the Gods find me those prisoners.”

Jaxx’s expression changed from one of caution to one of confusion very quickly as she watched the strange man speak to himself. “Are you drunk?” she raised a brow and cocked her head to the side, her attitude clearly annoyed.

“Go on piss off!” Zamir yelled at the two again “I am in no mood for you!”

Jaxx rolled her eyes, “Ok then, right. Farewell crazy....” she backed off, choosing not to engage the man directly. He was very large and intimidating. Attacking right off would make noise and attract attention. But obviously they couldn’t let him live… not after he made it clear he knew who they were.

She glanced at Lilith once she had backed to stand next to the giantess “Let’s go.” She spoke, intending to make a plan on how to kill him once the two of them were out of his sight.

Lilith eyed the two wearily, listening first to the man, who clearly recognized them, and then to Jaxx who sounded like she was actually planning to back off. Raising an eyebrow, she looked to her companion and smirked; Jaxx obviously had a plan, she’d never run from a fight, not in a million years. However, in this case… Lilith had an idea of her own. “Finnan, you say. That same man has my weapon in his throne room. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and I think together we could kill him off. If you’re willing to listen for a moment to us, that is.”

Jaxx’s eyes widened with surprise and she ripped her gaze away from the stranger for the first time to stare daggers into Lilith. What the hell are you doing? Jaxx restrained herself from enacting physical violence against her thoughtless companion… at least for now. She glanced back at the lone enemy, silently awaiting his response.

    ****
Raven more amused than anything at Tess's attempt at threatening her. Still, she thought better than to humor her by responding to her threat. Either she didn't believe Tess would follow through with it, or she didn't care if she tried. Either way, Raven let it slide, as though it was nothing more than the tantrum of a child. Raven stepped up to match Merrick's stride as his sister walked the other way. "There is an alleyway to the south of the city, not as heavily guarded. Meet me there." without another word, her image vanished into nothing and she was gone.

Zamir twisted his head from side to side letting his neck crack. He stood up rolled his shoulders and taking a step towards the barrel he lifted it and threw its contents at the two girls standing opposite him. “I said piss off”.

    *

Merrick not wanting to exhaust himself decided to simply walk towards the alley Raven had mentioned. There was a fair amount of activity. Warriors ran to and from searching or moving to their positions. Not many paid him much more attention than a glance. It was only as he approached the alley that a guard and thought to question him. “Who are you?” a tall stern looking man asked in his own language. When Merrick made no move to stop or respond he asked the question again in a very broken accent. Merrick was merely a few feet away from the man at this point who annoyed by his lack of response made to grab him. Merrick ducked nimbly under the man’s lumbering attempt and rising up he brought a blade cleanly across his throat. The man gasped and attempted to say something causing the blood now pouring out to gargle. Merrick grabbed the man by the scruff of his top and dragged him into the ally letting him fall against a wall in the shadows where he was less likely to be seen. Merrick knelt before him and cleaned his blade on the man’s trousers. He was pleased to see a money pouch which he cut free and added it to his own pockets. “Much obliged” Merrick said walking to the other end of the alley where he waited for Raven.

    -

Tess pulled the man through the doorway and stabbed her blade unnecessarily hard through his chin at an upwards angle. Warm blood ran over the blade and her hand and when the body began to slouch she let it fall unceremoniously to the floor. Seeing Raven had put her in a bad mood. She had been hoping to find the emperors fool daughter, kill the giantess and be on their way. Raven put a stop to that plan. Tess made her way towards the next house and waited again for her next target.

Zamir twisted his head from side to side letting his neck crack. He stood up rolled his shoulders and taking a step towards the barrel he lifted it and threw its contents at the two girls standing opposite him. “I said piss off”.

Jaxx warily watched the man stand and step toward the barrel. “Nope…” she muttered once, catching on to his plan rather quickly. In one quick, simple movement the smaller girl stepped behind Lilith just in time to avoid the splash of water that would have drenched her. This was her idea…. I’m not about to be doused for it.

Lilith shook her head as water splashed over her clothes, completely soaking them, and giving both Jaxx and Zamir a view of the bandages beneath her shirt, and the scars the shirt itself hides from view. She gave the barbarian a cross look, before sighing and shaking her head, turning to briefly face the pointedly not soaked girl behind her, “Jaxx, I think it might be best to be reasonable here. Despite our friend’s…”

“No, no.” Jaxx cut in, stepping back in front of Lilith and trying to push her along. “He is not our friend.” She turned to look at Zamir “You are not our friend.” she repeated as if trying to reassure him. She gave Lilith, who would not budge, another shove much more forcefully this time. “Let’s go, Lilith.” her voice strained slightly with the effort.

“--- attitude.” Lilith continued speaking as though she didn’t notice Jaxx at all. She stepped to the side, turning back to Zamir, smiling. “I can give you what you want, if you give me what I want. It’s a very simple deal, and you get more out of it then me, don’t you? I just want my weapon. You can have whatever comes of dealing with this Finnan fellow. That’s more than fair, right?”

Jaxx bit the inside of her bottom lip, clearly growing impatient and annoyed with her companion. At this point, Jaxx was sure Lilith’s stubbornness was going to bring trouble. Mimicking a habit she picked up from Raven, she placed her hand on the blade of her handle in a way that would appear casual. Ready for whatever came next.

While she waited for Merrick to arrive, Raven did a little more investigation alone. So far, no one among the enemy party had managed to locate either of the girls, thankfully. But the sight of a group of men hustling to build a rough wooden structure on top of the southern side of the wall was a concern. By the appearance of it, it was either meant to be a sort of weapon or makeshift executioners stand. Either way, Raven would prefer to get the innocents out of the area before it would be put to good use. She was just stepping back into the alley when she heard the quick and faint sounds of Merrick's little struggle. She sighed, rolling her eyes, before walking up to him. The man still struggled and choked from his injury as the assassin robbed him. Raven pulled out a knife and drove it through the man's temple to put him out of his misery. She said no other words to Merrick about the incident as the blood seemed to roll off of her blade on it's own. She put it away as she straightened up to walk once again. "Let's get to work." she spoke to him over her shoulder.

Paige was a bit startled by Voltair's random outburst. She glanced around at everyone as though looking for whomever's grandpa he was talking about. She was met with no explanation to be seen. She shrugged it off though as their eccentric companion snapped back into reality and back to business.

As Voltair jumped at walked away, Paige suddenly startled as though waking from an out of body experience. "Woa! It's like I was suddenly overtaken by outside forces against my will." she shook her head and rubbed her temples "Did you guys feel that too?" she otherwise shrugged it off like a weird random headache and called after Voltair "Ok take care." she waved at him enthusiastically. "Now... let's get out of sight huh?" she turned her attention back to Kable and Oryx. "I'll race you guys to that alley. Don't get us caught though." she said those last words with a bit of playful condescension before she winked and stepped off the wall, disappearing between buildings. She was already formulating a plan but knew they couldn't talk about it until they were safely out of the sight of the barbarians. Jaxx, she didn't care for. She would kill the snobby princess if necessary. Maybe even have a chance to get revenge on the hot assassin woman who knocked her out. But Lilith was a priority. Her rescue would have to take priority.

OOC: I've already talked with Hope over this, but I'll be taking over for Oryx until an appropriate time we can find something for his character, with Caboose being out and all.

Kable wasn't a big fan of what had just happened. As Voltair grabbed him around the waist, Kable opened his mouth to protest. Suddenly, he was flying through the air. He cleared the wall. Voltair must've been working more of his dark magic, because none of the barbarians even flinched people began floating above the wall. He landed softly next to Paige on the wall and glanced down. Oryx was the next to go. Voltair launched him up and Oryx cried his mighty battle cry. He launched over the wall. Giggling with excitement, Oryx floated down and landed next to his friends.

Voltair soon joined them. The man casually pointed towards a temple and made his declaration that he would head there. Without another word, Voltair jumped off the wall and descended down, making his way into the city. Paige slyly challenged Kable and Oryx to a race and took off for the alleyway. Oryx took off after her, leaving Kable in the dust. He sighed and made his way after them, drawing his cloak around him.

Zamir’s patience had well and truly run out. He put the barrel on the giantesses head and after cracking his knuckles he punched it. Causing the barrel to crack and the giantess to stumble backwards.

“I’ve had enough of the two of you. Piss off before I kill you both”

Finally accepting the fact that Lilith was not going to drop it. And that the stranger was simply not receptive to Lilith’s way of negotiation, Jaxx reluctantly stepped in. Though she was mostly pissed off by the fact that both of them had worn down her own patience. “Moron!” she shouted as the barrel covered Lilith from head to torso and cracked. As Lilith stumbled backward, Jaxx grabbed it at it’s rim and jumped upward, dragging it along with her and roughly pulling it off of Lilith’s head. While still in the air, Jaxx put all of her strength into smashing the object into Zamir’s face. She landed on the ground and was showered broken shards of wood. One of the metal rings that had once held the barrel together had managed to loop around Zamir’s neck like an awkward necklace. Jaxx got on her toes to reach up and grasp it. She yanked the thing down, dragging the stunned man’s face to eye level with her own. Even though the man was caught off guard, it took all of Jaxx’s strength to move the massive man. She could tell she was only able to do so because she had the element of surprise. Which she ignored. “Annoying as it is, she has a point. And you’re just going to let your temper get in the way of an opportunity to get your way.”

Zamir grunted in pain as his already broken nose started pouring blood. A drop of which landed on the girl’s cheek, who glared unflinching at him. “Bitch” He mumbled, pushing her away and somewhat nasally gripping his nose. Standing up straight he again straightened his nose as best he could. But he didn’t move to retaliate. She had managed to strike a nerve.

Jaxx scoffed “Whatever. Judging by your prowess you could be useful, like Lilith said. But with that temper you’d just be in our way anyway.” She turned and spoke to Lilith more forcefully this time. “We’re leaving. Now.”

Zamir wasn’t sure what it was about the small girl, but something in her intrigued him. He was still pissed off, but he begrudgingly called after them “You-” he felt a spark in the metal ring as he reached off to remove it. He tossed it at the smaller girl’s feet. “-I know who you are. Pint sized bitch with Thor’s magic. You must be the daughter of the maolán emperor.” he spit blood on the ground as he trudged toward her “I’ll listen to what you have to say. But I want more than what you’re offering.”

Jaxx growled “Name your price and stop wasting my time.”

“I want the city” Zamir replied wiping away some of the blood from his nose on the back of his hand.

“Oh is that all?” Jaxx replied sarcastically. “Even if it was something I was willing to offer you I don’t control my father.”

“I can offer you that and more” Lilith said interrupting Jaxx. “I am building and army to overthrow Atticus and when I do, if you prove to be an ally I can offer you this city and more. But, go against me, and well, yours won’t be the first barbarian body I’ve had to hide.”

Zamir stared at the giantess for a brief moment before smiling. “Didn’t think you had any backbone” He said almost mockingly. “Agreed. We will work out the finer details later. But for now, we have a deal” Zamir said extending his hand.

“Deal” Lilith said taking his hand.

Merrick and Raven had made their way to the arena in silence. Once they had arrived they navigated through the arena until they arrived where the two girls had been in the vision. They spent some time determining that the two had left by themselves. Searching around they soon stumbled on the bodies that had been hidden. “Not the cleanest work, but effective none the less” Merrick commented squatting to examine the remains. Patting the body down he came away with two coin purses. “Hmm.. sloppy” he said pinching one and offering the other to Raven.

Raven rolled her eyes and ignored the currency extended to her. She had no use for that sort of thing. “Come on, we need to find them before they do something stupid” she said turning and walking away.

“Why not teleport us through the city?” Merrick asked standing and pocketing the second coin purse.

“I mean I could, but I just exhausted that ability by bringing three people across the country. I couldn’t guarantee you’d make it with all of your limbs intact if I tried again so soon.” Raven said without stopping to reply.

Merrick paused, glancing down over his body briefly as though trying to decide which limb he could most conveniently part with. “Walking is fine” he followed after his temporary companion.

"Who the hell a-" Two guards shouted, interrupted by a loud crack as their bodies were suddenly impaled by spears. The spears hit them with such force that they were embedded in the temple walls behind them. Cracks spread out from the impact site as each spear was stuck a good half foot in the wall. Voltair calmly walked into the temple, two spears floating behind his back. Footsteps became louder as additional guards came to investigate the noise. Voltair held his hand out towards an open door that led deeper into the temple, the spears re-positioning themselves to be parallel to his arm. They shot towards the open door, impaling an unfortunate barbarian as he stepped into the doorway. The two spears hit with such force the man was knocked off his feet and pushed back out of the doorway.

"If the remaining three of you step out here you will die." Voltair shouted out, a bow and three arrows forming into his hands. He took aim at the doorway. "I understand fear is weakness but there is a fine line between courage and idiocy. That line," Voltair released the arrow, managing to hit the heart of the man who next stepped into the doorway. "Would be the doorway." Voltair notched the other two arrows on the bowstring and continued shouting to the two remaining men. "You have my word I will not kill you if you remain there."

With a sigh he released the remaining two arrows. As the two men reached the doorway, one arrow hit the front man in the eye. The second arrow flew right past his head, hitting the final man square in the throat. Both of them collapsed as they died.

Now alone in the temple Voltair took the time to look around. The statue of Neptune was broken, its head removed from the remainder of the body. Voltair picked up the head and dusted it off a bit. "Not bad." He spoke before tossing it over his shoulder like any other worthless object. Next was Lilith's bisento. He picked it up as though it was any other object that fell to the floor. Part of him wanted to destroy this weapon, bestowed to Lilith's family by Neptune himself. That probably wouldn't be the best course of action though. Lilith was still dependent on the weapon. Additionally it also provided her benefits in battle. While it was something he himself would never use, there was no point in taking away anything that would help Lilith achieve her goal.

Setting those thoughts aside Voltair then sat on the throne the barbarians set up, disappointed Loch wasn't at the temple right now.

As Paige had been given an unfair head start coupled by her already superhuman speed, she beat her companions to the designated alley with ease. Still, she found Voltair's behavior puzzling. Would it not be easier to find Lilith and reclaim the city with his help? Still, she couldn't necessarily question him now. Besides, the prospect of an actual challenge for the first time in days intrigued her more than the curious nature of Voltair... at least for now. She wondered if Jaxx's people had also managed to find their way to the city. Were they already here? The prospect of actually getting to cross the famed warrior Raven this time was interesting. Though also somewhat troubling if she actually had intention of helping Jaxx harm Lilith. Either way, the most logical strategy would be to start by locating Lilith and figuring out who was in charge of the city now. Killing them would be the quickest way to regain control of the city. Then, just keep killing people until the rest of the barbarian army either falls in line or dies. As Kable and Oryx managed to catch up, Paige put aside her thoughts to greet them. "I win. Big surprise." She giggled, cracking her knuckles. "So... I guess we should start by trying to find Lilith and Jaxx huh? I mean, it would be better to find them before Raven assuming she has already caught up. But maybe you wouldn't mind seeing her again, huh Kable?" she winked with a devilish grin before clapping her hands together. "Now... let's see... what was that plan of yours again? Oh yes" she snapped her fingers "Distraction by mass violence. I'd say it would still work. Oryx, how many of these brutes do you think you can kill before Kable and I manage to find Lilith. Shall we make a game of it?"

Oryx was distraught that Paige managed to beat him. She wasn't even a demigod, just a simple human, like Kable. But then again, Kable wasn't exactly one hundred human himself. Oryx nearly ran Paige over as he made his own way into the alley. He skidded to a halt right at her feet and felt Kable bounce off him.

Oryx spun and helped his friend up. "Sorry, mate. This lovely lass decided to stop way too fast."

Kable grumbled and let himself be raised up by Oryx. Brushing himself off, Kable turned as Paige gloated at them. Her ego was one for the books, that was for sure.

At the mention of Raven, Kable grew slightly red. But it was ignored as Paige turned to Oryx. "Oryx, how many of these brutes do you think you can kill before Kable and I manage to find Lilith. Shall we make a game of it?"

Oryx grinned maddeningly as he held his hands out, open palm. Fire erupted from them, forcing both mercenaries back a step. "I will win this game, lassy. Just you wait." Right as he finished speaking, two guards rounded the corner. They immediately drew their weapons. Oryx spun around, crackling to himself. "The Lords of Iron shall have their fill in Valhalla today!"

Oryx launched himself forward. Kable had to raise his arms to shield himself from the blowback. Oryx was upon the two men instantly. He smacked away the first guard so hard that the man went through the wall to his left. The next guard swung his sword and it rang uselessly against Oryx's armor. The behemoth grabbed the guard by his shoulders and headbutted the poor guard straight into the ground.

Oryx spun around and held up two fingers. "That's 2-0, lassy. Better step your game up." And with that, he launched himself straight into the air and onto a building.

Kable looked over at Paige. "Look at what you started, you monster. Come on, we need to find Lilith."

A lovely collab from the minds of Kairu, Hope, and Sho.

Jaxx listened patiently while Lilith negotiated with the other massive person. She was adaptive, Jaxx could admit that. Still, she knew she couldn’t allow their deal to ever happen. Her job was to capture Lilith after all. Allowing her to have access to an army would be counterproductive. She would have to kill Zamir when all of this was over. Before his army was made aware of the deal. As the two shook hands, Jaxx clapped her own together, “Isn’t that sweet. Now if you two are done gabbing, we might as well get this over with. We need to get close to Finnan… as far as I can tell he isn’t going to let any one of us just waltz up to him.” she turned to Zamir, “Do you know a time when he is alone?”

“I don’t recall you being in on this little one” Zamir said not bothering to make eye contact.

Jaxx ignored the ‘little’ comment, though it did annoy her somewhat. She didn’t ask to be short after all. And at least her height allowed some stealth, unlike Lilith’s. “Oh trust me, I’d rather not be. But I need your king dead just as much as you do, and until that happens I’m allied with Lilith. So like it or not, we’re stuck with each other.” she sighed, “That said, would he still be at the temple or not? Let’s kill the bastard and move on with our lives.”

Zamir let the question hang in the air. “With all that has happened Finnan wouldn’t be sitting idle, unlike your kings we lead our men” He directed the answer to the giantess rather than the short one. “Chances are, he’s out assessing what the army outside the wall is doing.”

Jaxx cursed under her breath. Being among his army would take a stealth kill off the table. They wouldn’t be able to get close without being spotted. They would have to find a way to get past the guards and ambush him that way…

The answer she came up with wasn’t one she was thrilled with. But it could work. “We wouldn’t be able to get close enough without recapture if he or his men spotted us approaching. Not unless we appeared to already be apprehended…”

Lilith thought to herself as Jaxx spoke, unfortunately, it was on point. With her size, sneaking was out of the question, and as much as she hated to admit it, without her bisento she wasn’t going to be toppling any kings any time soon. “It seems… we may need to approach this differently. Zamir, would Finnan allow you to approach him if you had a prisoner, so to speak?”

“There is nothing preventing me from approaching Finnan in the first place!” Zamir responded hotly. He paced a few steps, “But, he would be off guard if I had a prisoner with me.”

Smirking, Lilith turned to Jaxx, “You heard the man. You get to play decoy. I’m sure you aren’t going to be thrilled about it, but you’re the only one of the two of us who could play the part properly without… getting distracted. While you two do that, I’ll search for my bisento.... After I’ve recovered it, wherever it is, I’ll meet up with you, somehow, some way. You have my word on that.”

Jaxx had a slight glimmer of empathy for Lilith’s hesitation to the idea. But she still grimaced at the idea of having to play the part herself. She didn’t trust Zamir… but then she didn’t really trust anyone. This was her only way to get close to the barbarian king to end all this madness, so she would have to play the part. “You should know, you can rule the prison out of your search… your bisento wasn’t in the room where all the other weapons were kept. I can only assume it was too big.”

Zamir was getting more and more irritated with the prattle these children insisted on. He had a man to kill. “If you are talking about the bladed stick Finnan had it in the throne room” He let out in a grunt of frustration. “Can we get moving?!”

Lilith stared at Zamir with a look of slight frustration, “It’s a Bisento, not a ‘Bladed Stick’, but thank you for the help. Anyway, let’s put this plan into action and take out a king shall we? I’m counting on you two, and Jaxx..” She turned to the girl and smiled brightly, “I trust you, you can do this. But be safe, okay?”

Jaxx only responded by rolling her eyes and waving Lilith off somewhat impatiently. “Yeah… good luck.”

“Oh piss off” Zamir said breaking up the lovers moment and reaching to grab the small ones weapon.

Startled, Jaxx pulled back and punched Zamir in the face. “What the hell are you doing?”

“You little bitch..” Zamir said through his hands as he covered his once again bleeding nose. “By the Gods hit me again and I’ll drown you in the goddam barrel.” He turned to face her. “You won’t look like much of a prisoner with a damned sword hanging across your back!”

Jaxx considered his words, before reluctantly undoing the strap that held her sword and handing it to Zamir, as well as the smaller one strapped to her hip. Her throwing knives, hidden in her clothes, she kept however. “Fine… but if anything happens to these, I’ll kill you.”

“You could bloody well try” Zamir responded snatching the weapons and putting them through his own belt. “Let’s get moving”

With one final look back at her two unorthodox allies, Lilith took off on her own, with the singular goal of finding her precious weapon.
