So if I had a sexual affair with the toaster-oven you'd be ok with that?

(Note that I'm not poking fun at gays, I'm trying to argue with the point of view that "anyone can be sexually attracted to anything they like").

    What about beastiality?

Ewww...that is just nasty. I mean, you can't score a chick or a dude, and you have to do an animal.

There are some fetishes that I consider to be very strange. Pick a body part, and someone's turned on by that body part: even the elbow.

Some people are turned on by vegetables (really!), some are turned on by animals. It's actually funny, because being turned on by animals doesn't seem as strange to me as some other fetishes...I mean going out and getting it on with an animal, I would never condone. But a lot of times it's like, a certain animal is a symbol of say, power, grace, stamina, etc. which are all characteristics that say, a woman might like to find in a man, or vice versa. So for example, a woman may fantasize about (being, or being with) a bear, or a tiger, or something like that, while making love.

But the point I'm trying to make is that everyone has their thing, even the allegedly 'asexual' people who don't have any sexual drive whatsoever. Everyone is into something which should be ok, lest we give into hypocritical arguments. My previous post however, was saying that we need not always act on these impulses. I bet you there is, has been, or will be at least one person who has been turned on by a suggestive toaster oven, sometime in the history of mankind...whether or not they actually did the deed with it...I don't know. I should hope not.

EDIT: And for the love of God, if anyone misconstrues this post as me condoning bestiality, or worse still, being INTO beastiality, I'm going to pack my bags and leave right now. It wouldn't be the first time, and I'm tired of that happening.

as i said, it's likes. people see beauty in many ways. for some people, only the interior counts. not exterior. i find that strange, though, i wont lie to myself, i'd like to marry someone or stay with someone that would be attractive inside and out.

but really, i dont have nothing to do with that.
they deserve to be happy. i just dont like all the criticism around that, like it happens in many countries around the world with color racism, they put them down for their color (in this case, because of their sexual attraction)

Very true. But there's one issue that may either be a miscommunication, or you're misunderstanding what homosexuality is exactly. You said the following:

I'm going to assume you meant exactly what you said, but if you made a mistake just let me know. I know English isn't your first language (it's great that you're participating in debates despite this :) )

When you say that, it almost sounds like you think two men (as an example) being gay, is like two best buddies who want to live together more than with any girl they've met. So they get married and live together. "For some people only the interior counts" makes it sound as though they can ignore the exterior (ie. the 'unattractive genetalia') because they've grown to care for the person's interior.

However...homosexuality is a real attraction to the same sex. If a homosexual man married a woman, he would have to ignore her unsightly features, and make due with her inner beauty...kind of like you were saying. Whereas if a gay man married a man, they would like the internal...and external features.

I just had to make that distinction to you, in case you've never realized that fact...it's pretty vital to the discussion that you know that. But as I said, it may be a miscommunication/misinterpretation.

Now to discuss the idea you presented in a different context. I think it's a very positive message you posted. Many times people marry unattractive people (regardless of orientation) for love...and I think that's a testament to how powerful it really is. Unfortunately though, it's regardless of orientation...so it's an independent property, not really related to being gay or straight. As I explained above, gays like the external features of people of the same gender.

For me, I don't care how you look. I just need a person that can keep up with me, have a great personality, and can take harsh jokes.

^^Does that go beyond gender? Or are you just attesting to my closing remarks?

It doesn't matter the gender. I am friendly! I just don't what a committed relationship. That is why I get along with gays and straights.

I am a person that knows a bit about gays. I have 7 family members that are gay. I have seen it all. Some of which is more than you would want know, LOL. But anyway, I fully support gays. I feel that everyone can do as they feel in privet. I only have a problem with people that feel the need to either dress extremal bare, or have sex in public. There are somethings that no matter who does it, it needs to stay in privet. I also feel that people don't like gays because of the small % of gays that are bent on hell to get equal rights. Im talking about the ones that go around streaking in protest and doing crazy things in public. I fully understand protesting, but most gays are very peaceful about it. Its the crazy ones that you seen on tv, and everyone thinks that all gays are like that, but they are not. I only hope that people understand that.

Just to add to the one point you made; I don't think it's only the extremist gays who spoil the bunch. (Those are the ones who, if they were straight, would be arrested for that behaviour).

I think in general, the stereotyped behaviour is what irks most people. I mentioned earlier in this topic how I don't really have a problem with someone 'being' homosexual, but I do have a problem with someone 'acting' homosexual...because talking with a lisp and dressing in colourful clothing IS a choice, a choice of behaviour I find annoying (It isn't the only behaviour I find annoying, but I'm not going to look past annoying behaviour simply because they're gay).

It's like how some people don't like loud people, or some don't like shy people. I don't care for flambuoyant people, be it flaunting sexuality(whether gay or straight), race (ie. 'aznpride'), intelligence (boasting), or anything of that nature. It's one thing to be proud of one's accomplishments, it's another to be proud of something that allegedly can't be changed.

Thank you! Finally some who make sense!

The only thing that I hate about gays is that they can be loud and dramatic. You be talking to them and then they start bursting out like "Oh My God! Like totally. Like you can definitely go for it. Hehehe" In the high pitch tone.

    Kyuu your worst nightmare.

Well, one of my friends is gay. I don't care about it, he is a very nice guy! They're same as straights. It doesn't matter, I don't understand people who can't stand gays!

i don't actually ate anything about gays. i find them funny.
the way i see it, they are just like us.

EDIT: and to Mike, I just saw your post back there:

you're right. for the homosexual part is being phisically atracted to the person of the same gender. but well, likes is likes.
*if you ask me, it's all about sex, but i'm not lesbian, so i dunno. gotta ask my friend about that.*

it's their choice, and no one should have a bad comment about that, as no one can predict the future. there are people who change sex becuase they feel they weren't born to be a man/woman, there's always that option.

All I am saying is that they can be a tad annoying at sometimes.

Most people who do not like gays do not make the time to get to know them.

actually, most people who don't like gays, won't even approach them to say "hello", they seem to start running... it's like guys run from gays and girls run from lesbians. they usually keep it quietly, just to themselves/closest friends. it's not like a lesbian's gonna grab my boobs as i'm walking the street, i don't know why some people really seem to be afraid of them
