    I say any body but Obama. McCain isn't any better, but I've heard some things that lead me to believe Obama is a bad person. Not because of the terrorist thing or anything, something different. As to your McCain Bush relation KD, well, Obama is like sixth cousins with Dick Cheney, and eleventh cousins with George Bush. A vote for Obama is more a vote for Bush than a vote for McCain is, at least McCain isn't related to Bush.....

    Good gravy man, YOU are probably eleventh cousins with Bush...you know how far spread that is on a so-called 'family tree' ? I guess I'm not really seeing how that's a link to Bush at all.

    I'm not going to post my opinion because I don't know all the facts: I'm not American. I did want to point out though, that Figure's absolutely right.

    You DO realize that both, Obama and McCain are REPRESENTATIVES of their parties right? And not the entire parties themselves?

    Obama/McCain's personal opinions will likely have very little to do with how the country is run, as all legislature must be approved by more than just Obama/McCain...that's how democracy works.

    You are voting for a PARTY, not for a person. Obama and McCain are merely the people selected to be the single representative of the party (for instance, to the media).

    ah, no, i'm not. There are 6.4 some billion people on this planet, that tree to the length of eleventh cousins probably stretches to about 150 people, at the most. thats 0.0000000234375% of our current population, thats counting those that are dead in the his family tree to.

    I support John McCain. Mainly because he is against abortion. I hate abortion and it is wrong. Anyone who is pro-choice will never get my support. Obama said that he will advise his daughters not to get knocked up but if it happens he wont punish them with a baby. A baby is not a punishment, it is one of God's most wonderful blessings. Abortions are wrong and savage. If someone is raped and they don't want the baby then give it to an adoption agency and someone who does want it will adopt it. Give the baby a chance to live. If it has a problem mentally or physicaly then it still has a right to live. Just stop killing babies. I feel sad because of all the babies that have been aborted. This is 2008, the human race needs to grow up and stop such savage things as abortion.

    Hmm...this will be fun...I'm told I enjoy math.

    Simple graph theory...so let's construct a family 'tree' in a graph theoretic context. (EDIT: Now before you get confused, I thought I should add this note: This is NOT the same as a biological family tree. This is a mathematical tool which can be used to model MOVEMENT through the family tree. Coincidentally, it can be used in this case to measure the number of people moved over, while moving through the tree...thus it's an appropriate tool for this discussion).

    Most people (ie. all people) have 2 parents. Most people (ie. all people) are one person. Most families in the last 11 generations have had 2 or 3 kids...to prove my point, let's use the larger number and say each family has approximately 3 kids (Keep in mind, 11 generations ago was a long time ago...infact, if a typical generation is 20 years, that's 220 years...which is around the time the US was being populated: I think I'm justified in assuming 3 children). 2 + 3 = 5.

    That means each generation consists of 5 'leaves' on the family tree. To be 11th cousins, one must be linked through 11 such generations (note that 'generation' in this context is a misnomer. A generation in a graph theoretic context means 'one level' on the tree). Of course we know to be an 11th cousin means we must move 'up and down' the family tree, not just up as we would do for say, an 11th grandparent...thus we must take parents into account, and not just children.

    That means 5^11 = 5*5*5*5*5*5*5*5*5*5*5 = 48828125 people are somehow affiliated with you, over the past 11 generations (this includes dead people), by rough estimate. (You can already see your "probably stretches to about 150 people, at the most" estimate is quite retarded (yes, I don't appreciate being called a dork))

    Now we prune, and by the 'last level' estimation technique, we can estimate how many LIVING people lie on the tree. (ie. we take 11 rows and assume the first 10 rows have died):

    5^11 - 5^10 = 4*5^10 = 39062500 LIVING people now affiliated with you, by means of being an 11th cousin.

    Numbers don't lie...39 million, is (a fair bit) greater than 150. (Feel free to ponder that one for a little while, I know it's a bit confusing). That's approximately .6% of your estimate of the world's population...seems a lot more plausible now, doesn't it?

    Keep in mind, most of the population also belongs to some ethnic group, which Bush does NOT belong to (ie. asian heritage groups). So now, the number grows considerably. Consider the U.S.A.'s population, approximately 300 million according to MSNBC in 2006. U.S. population nearing 300 million - Environment

    That means more than 1 in 10 Americans are likely 11th cousins with Bush. This is an over estimate of course, as not everyone in this tree resides in the US, but it's probably a more accurate estimate than taking the entire world's population into account.

    So all you proved was that you're an idiot who's failing 'estimation.'

    Hmm...*raise eyebrow* Offense taken.

    11th cousins are distant enough to procreate without any observed genetic abnormalities. Obama could knock up Bush's daughters and their children wouldn't be 'inbred.' So again...what does being 11th cousins with Bush have to do with anything?

    I'll tell you what, if you can follow the logic behind my calculation (ie. crack open a graph theory textbook, and read the chapter on "Tree-Theory"), I'll be impressed enough to respond to your accusations...right about now, you're making me wonder how anyone can stand reading what you post.

    FYI: Not everyone lives in (or cares about) the USA...but anyone can argue with bad reasoning. Mental note for next time.

    Haha and honestly, if Obama being 'biologically related' (loosely speaking) to Bush is a reason not to vote for him, why not choose not to vote for him because he's got a big nose? It's just as stupid a reason.

    Mcain well i don't like his policies nor his personality. the fact that he tries so hard to dog obama out every chance he gets is just desperate and pathetic. i mean its right out sad.
