This is a story that I just started writing, I'm not even kidding just started today. Anyway, it's the story of a young Girl moving away from her home and learning of many things about herself and a certain prophecy. She is also learning a few secrets of the world. Anyway I hope you'll enjoy. Please post your comments, I might publish it in either my school newspaper or next year in the school's literture and arts magazine. Plus there's a special student section in my school library where students wrote the books.

    Chapter 1~Moving Day

“Mom no, why must we move, I don’t want to.” Aqua said complaining in her room filled with moving boxes.

“Don’t worry Aqua, you’ll like the new house, we picked it you in mind.” Aqua’s mother called in.

“It’s right down the street from Steve’s old house.” Aqua called back. Steve was her new step father. Her real father died in a car accident when she was 10 years old, 5 years ago. She was sad her mother worst, but in her real estate business she sold a house to a client who hooked her up with Steve. Aqua likes Steve, but just she rather have one father and only one father.

“Oh, Aqua don’t worry, every summer you can come up here to visit all your friends and stay with Grandma and Grandpa on the farm.” Her mother called in. Aqua and her mother live in Lancaster, PA. They were moving to the Florida Keys.

“Grrr, whatever it’s school that’ll miss them, in the summer they’ll be taking their vacation to places like the Florida Keys.” Aqua said.

“See then they can come visit you and meet all your friends.” Her mother came and stood at the door way. Her mother was a tall medium skinny lady. Beautiful and kind. She was a great business person. Aqua heard the movers finish the basement and coming up the stairs. Everything was moved down to the new house and Steve and a few friends unpacked and arranged. Due to the expense Aqua could only bring a few things with her to her new house and all her furniture. Her furniture was already moved, but her mattress. All her cloths, but a few outfits. Aqua sighed as they finished up quickly. Her completely empty dolphin blue wall, and sandy color carpet was going to be left behind once and for all. The people who bought their house is tearing it down and turning it into a business place. Aqua was mad by this, but ok besides that.

Aqua followed her mother out to the taxi waiting for them in the front yard. They drove to the airport, Aqua started listening to her ipod and started texting her friends. She already missed them not even leaving Pennsylvania let alone Lancaster. After an hour the plane took off and Aqua had to start all over. New school, new friends, new home, and a new adventure. Aqua looked at life as an adventure and her adventure in Lancaster Pennsylvania had come to an end. It’s hard to start a new one.

After a two and a half hour flight they landed in Fort Lauderdale. Aqua stepped out and was immediately blasted by the heat of Florida. She quickly took off her sweat shirt and threw down on the ground in anger of the new place. Her mother picked it up and took care of it. All their stuff was on a moving truck. Aqua’s mother looked around and out in the parking lot a man was waving to them. It was a dark brown hair, tan, muscular, handsome man. Also a very nice guy. Aqua was happy for her mother. For it was Steve. Aqua still rather have her real mother. They finished up at the airport and drove off following the moving truck to the Florida Keys.

    Chapter 2~ Home?

Aqua sat in the back silent the entire trip. All she was cars for the longest time and businesses. She started feeling like she was at home seeing all the orange orchards. Though after a long time she got tired. They’ve been driving for a total of four hours. Steve’s car was comfortable, but just not for a long four hour ride. After awhile she got tired and fell asleep. She woke up to feel many stops which meant they were close to their destination. She woke up to feeling like terrible and probably looking terrible.

“Hey sleepy head.” Aqua heard Steve call back. Aqua moaned and took the pillow she had laying it over her face. The sun was setting. It was beautiful she had to admit, as they drove she saw beaches and surprisingly for the keys very little people, no hotels yet neither. The only people she saw were the locals out walking and local kids playing, teens skateboarding. She even saw a few surfers out in the water mainly local looking. They pulled into a white and ancient sky blue wooden color house. One thing Aqua was really surprised about was it had a small white light house tower. They headed in. Some of Steve’s friends were helping the movers unload. Aqua walked inside. The entrance way was a new white oak hard wood floor. Off to the left was a foyer, right a library, and straight forward stairs. Off of the stairs through a small door way was a small hall way. Aqua went through finding doors leading outside to a deck and big back yard, and a white oak kitchen. It was beautiful, all beach like. Aqua turned around seeing her mother and Steve come in. Steve turned to a door behind Aqua heading downstairs. Aqua heard a few squeaks. She looked outside and headed outside finding a very deep pool. Then a dolphin come swimming out doing a jump. The pool was huge, bigger than the public pool almost the size of the Sea World pool. She also saw a small tunnel that was opened.

“Steve wanted to surprise you with this. He works at home and they built this special pool and stuff for him to keep dolphins in. Steve said you can help him whenever with them. He also has a few other fish, a small baby California sea lion trying to see how he does with Florida water and weather. Plus a few turtles. Go ahead downstairs then I’ll show you your room.” Her mother said walking back inside to unpack and maybe rearrange some things. Aqua turned to leave as the dolphin squeaked. She went over and pet it. She headed back in. She then heard the bark of a familiar animal, her golden retriever Sandy.

“Sandy!” Aqua exclaimed running over to her dog she also saw a small cat as well. They were her pets her mother was going to give her cat to her aunt and take the dog to the shelter only due to him being strictly a pet and wouldn’t be able to help her grandparents on the farm. She was happy to see them. She stood up and headed downstairs making sure her pets didn’t follow. She found a whole laboratory. Another pool filled with dolphins a glass wall stood in between her. Another glass wall on the other side being a small pool with a California sea lion in it. She walked more seeing an office with glass walls and pretty nice size zoo like aquariums filled with fish. They had labels and stuff on them. Aqua saw Steve’s dog, Spot, an old beagle basset hound mix. She walked over to the door leading to the dolphins. She saw Steve inside feeding them. All the dolphins were there then seeing a tube. She came to conclusion that the two pools connect. She walked in.

“Hey Aqua, want to help me? Just wash your hands.” Steve said. Aqua nodded walking over to a sink. It had three faucets and six actual sinks. She saw fish in one, equipment another, medicine, water testing, and two to actually wash your hands in. She did with hot to warm water and soap. She walked over and Steve smiled.

“This is Hercules, Apollo, Aquarius, Athena, and Uranus.” Steve said. Aqua nodded memorizing their names.

“Over there is Zeus, the California Sea Lion.” Steve said.

“That’s cool. So could I?” Aqua asked. She was asking about feeding them.

“Sure go ahead.” Steve said giving her the fish. Aqua took it and fed it to them. They seemed happy about her, comfortable for her being new to them.

“Thanks, I better go check out my room.” Aqua said.

“Yeah no problem, maybe next time plus when we can get you a wet suit you can swim with them, you can swim in your swim suit though whenever I’m around.” Steve said. Aqua nodded grabbed a squirt of hand sanitizer and headed upstairs. She headed upstairs and found her mom sitting in the foyer.

“All the rooms are unpacked, but all your minor stuff.” Her mother said. Aqua nodded.

“Where is my room?” Aqua asked. Her mother smiled and took her upstairs. She opened a door with a tad bit rough white oak flooring. A white rug in the center of the room. The whole back wall with windows and two door leading out to a deck. A roundish door way room stuck into the room. The door was opened a tad bit. Her mother walked over opening it showing stairs. It was the lighthouse. Aqua walked fast over to it and practically ran up the stairs to a small cranny. It was surrounded with windows all around and up high about 4 feet above her head were windows and the light.

“This light house is still functional, the owner died, and the government is paying us to keep it active. It’s been updated so like the old days we don’t get a fire. Plus this is done up like a small sitting room type thing, and you can come up here and relax and unwind. The light might be a bit bright at night, but even then…” Her mother was saying then pulled a metal wood cover across separating the light and room. “Just pull that across.” She said. Aqua smiled and hugged her mom.

“Thanks mom, I guess I was wrong, this house is great, I’m just now worried about school and stuff.” Aqua said.

“Don’t worry you’ll get adjusted and I’m sure you’ll make many friends.” Her mother said. Aqua nodded.

“Now unpack some of your stuff, for your deck tomorrow after school we’ll take you to get some stuff for it.” Her mother said leaving. Aqua headed down to her main part unpacking her stuff in her room.

After awhile she finished up and headed outside. She walked past the pool in the back and found a small walkway and steps within the steps. She saw someone sitting on the beach. A boy about her age. He had a bit of a wavy honey color hair. He was very strong. He was a surfer sitting there with a surf board and in his swim pants. He looked up towards her he had handsome blue eyes dark blue like her old school’s one color. It had a bit of grey in it. Aqua felt her black bluish color hair blowing in the wind. She had blue eyes of her own much like the ocean. She walked down the path wearing Capri and her sweat shirt from her old school.

    Chapter 3~ Jake

“So you’re the people who bought the house, marine biologist I see.” The boy said while Aqua walked down to him. She nodded.

“Yeah, just my step dad is a marine biologist.” Aqua told him.

“Oh that’s cool. So you guys are pretty lucky, you have one of the most famous beach coves on the island, one of the oldest light house in America, and you get to prove the guy before you wrong.” The boy said.

    “Prove what guy?” Aqua asked.

“The guy before you living in that house was a fisher man and he said he heard a women singing at night, he created this little legend and myth and he said he was part of it, yet he did not get possessed.” The boy said.

“Legend? What kind of legend?” Aqua asked.

“The Legend of Singing Cove. This is singing cove, the nut said he saw a mermaid and she had the power to posses men and women and even children. He said with her singing qualified men to be wed would approach her when singing if she did not like them she turn them into her own child. Any women would be turned into dolphins. Any child I’m not sure about teens would become a mermaid or merman.” The boy said. Aqua looked at him in a way saying he was the nut. He saw and laughed.

“Sorry been random all day I guess, oh by the way Jake.” He said extending his hand.

“Aqua, so what is this legend, it’s interesting, but at first you telling it to someone you don’t even know made me think you were the creep, no offence or anything.” Aqua said. She went and shook his hand.

“It’s no problem, I get that a lot, ok no I don’ only on days I’m very random. Yeah it’s quite interesting, all of us on the island though the myth was sort of bad, and well you know, except all the marine biologist, they thought it was false and don’t even talk about it, because well they’re marine biologist.” Jake said.

“Didn’t anybody say anything about the people going missing?” Aqua asked.

“According to the guy he said that she had the power over memories and once she take someone, she had the power to mess with everybody else’s memories and change them making it, he died at a young age out at sea according to him was the popular one. He said his best friend was taken and when he told his wife, she said that he died at sea. Then the mermaid took his wife, he cried and all of his family and stuff said she got lost out at sea.” Jake told her.

“Is it for real?” Aqua asked.

“Well according to the guy he said she took my sister and father, but I know they died when their boat sank.” Jake said.

“So how do you know though she messed with your mind?” Aqua asked.
“Because we found my sister’s body.” Jake said.

“Oh sorry, my father died in a car accident.” Aqua said.

“Really sorry? How long ago?” Jake asked.

“Five years ago.” Aqua told him.

“Oh really!? My father and sister died five years ago as well!” Jake exclaimed jumping up. “They died in Febuary.” He told her.

“Oh creepy that’s when my father died.” Aqua said. The two looked at each other surprised then broke into laughter.

“Weird, but not coincidence.” Jake said laughing. Aqua giggled.

“Yeah, impossible.” Aqua told him laughing as well.

“Hey you being home school or going to school?” Jake asked.

    “Regular school.” Aqua said.

“Oh that’s cool want to ride with me and my friends tomorrow?” Jake asked.

“Sure I like that.” Aqua said standing up. The two headed back up. Aqua saw her mother in the kitchen looking outside smiling.

“Well I’ll see you tomorrow.” Jake said.

“Ok see ya.” Aqua said. Aqua went in.

“Who was that?” Her mother asked.

“This boy named Jake who lives next door, he’s going to help me get settled in.” Aqua said.

“See it hasn’t even been a full 24 hours and your getting settled in.” Her mother told her. Aqua nodded and headed upstairs. She went up to the lighthouse sitting room so she called it. She saw Jake was out surfing. She had her sketch books upstairs. She began drawing Jake. He seemed like an amazing surfer. The sun was setting and his body looked solid black with the pink sky and the sun going under the water. Aqua closed up her sketch book got out her poetic journal and wrote her day in poetic terms setting it off to the side. She grabbed her regular diary and in correct English wrote her day out.

    Chapter 4~ School

Aqua tossed and turned in her bedroom. She was having a dream, neither good nor bad. Just a dream. This one was bugging her. She ended up waking up. She felt all sweaty like a nightmare, but she felt good about herself like a good dream. She looked at her clock and saw the pitch black out. She got out of bed and walked out on her balcony. She leaned on the wooden fence looking out to the sea. It was a crescent moon, not a cloud in the sky. Many stars were seen. Surprisingly it was 7:00am; back at home the sun be rising, it wasn’t though a tad weird. She got dress and headed downstairs to see no one. Nobody’s lights were on outside yet, not a soul around. She began to ponder why, her time zone did not change, and it was the same. She shrugged and headed upstairs. She went up into the lighthouse, the light was going, surprisingly none got to below it, but stretched out nor was it that bright. She became to draw the ocean at night. At about 7:30am she finished the drawing just in time for the sun to be coming up. She walked down to her room. Just in time for her mom to be entering her room.

“You’re up!? It usually takes you an hour to get you up.” Her mother said. Aqua just shrugged. She was already dress. Her mother left and she turned on her TV and began to watch TV. After about 30 minutes the sun was up and the door bell rang. Aqua ran downstairs and saw Jake on his bike. Aqua usually rode the bus to school so riding her bike was new. She went in the garage and got her bike and rode out to them. There wasn’t many people. Just Jake, her, another girl, and another boy that seemed to be like a nerd type boy. Aqua was fine with them.

“So Jim, did you get the history report done?” The girl of the group asked the nerdy boy.

“I always get my stuff done. You?” He asked.

“That’s what I was afraid of, it’s not due till three weeks, and for once can you try to be normal.” The girl said.

“Those two always fight over stupid stuff. Anyway the guy is Jim, girl Karen, she is actually related to the person who lived in the house before you-“Jake was saying before interrupted by Karen.

“Except I’m not nuts like him, nobody in my family is, but my brother.” Karen said.

“Ty isn’t as nuts.” Jim said.

“Yeah he is he’s following in his footsteps. He wants to drop out of school and become a fishermen and buy your house.” Karen said to Aqua.

“Oh how lovely. Well he better pay double what we did.” Aqua joked.

“You like your house?” Jim asked. “Isn’t haunted by old sailor Johnny?” Jim asked mysterious in his voice. Aqua shook her head.
“No. Nothing weird has happened, then again I came from Amish country up north in Pennsylvania, and so I’ve seen some weird stuff.” Aqua told them.

“Oh you know I’d never guess you were from an inland state, I would think more Hawaiian or something.” Karen said.

“Nope, just your average Pennsylvania Yankee girl.” Aqua said remembering what her history teacher in ninth grade told her how southerners called him names when he went to Hilton head. Her friend obviously knew where she was getting at because they laughed as well.

“Yeah you dang Yankees.” Jim said laughing.

“Last year we learned about the civil war and stuff, the South should have won you know.” Karen said jokingly. Jake stopped his bike and his face was mad.

“Jake is Native American and like the Africans they were used as slaves his great grandfather was a slave Indian.” Jim said.

“Don’t worry I think the winner of the war is right, which would have been the north. We won so hah, but that’s behind us, not even our generation so let’s get with modern times.” Aqua said. Jake smiled some catching up.

“Yeah, so I’m going to get that new game.” Jim said.

“What game this time?” Karen asked sarcastically.

“The new Pokémon game of course, what else?” Jim said sounding serious.

“Jim is a huge Pokémon and school nerd person, you should see his room, and everything is organized and labeled. Plus he has a Pokémon bed spread and posters.” Karen said. Aqua nodded.

“Does sound like a mega fan, I’m not so much of a person to label everything of mine and get nothing, but Pokémon stuff, but I do play Pokémon.” Aqua said.

“Well here we are. Florida Island High School, home of the Dolphins.” Jake said sliding his bike to a stop. The group walked to a bike rack and locked their bikes. Jim turned around and was lifted up by the shirt by what looked like a high school twelfth grader.

“Hey nerd, did you do my report? Plus my homework. I’ll also need your lunch money.” Jake saw this and walked over.

“Put him down now.” Jake said in an angry tone.

“Why is it isn’t Jacob, the surfing creep.” The bully said throwing Jim on the floor.

“I beat you at it, rember? You used to love it, you always bragged about being the best, and then I beat you with it, now you say it’s terrible, yet I still see you surfing.” Jake said getting in his face. They were the same height even know Jake was a sophomore and the bully was a senior. Aqua didn’t feel well about. She walked in between the two boys.

“That’s enough, you, why do you need money from him, Jim why not give him a bad grade, Jake, who cares, I think surfing is awesome.” Aqua said.

“Wait who are you, oh yeah you’re the new kid, making you just as good as freshmen.” The senior said leaning over Aqua cracking his knuckles.

“That’s enough, all of you stop. Jim you ok? Jake, I bravo you for standing up for your friend, and you must be young miss Aqua, you just moved here yesterday and your standing up for friends, boy are you a quick friend maker and a strong hearted person. TJ I believe this is the fifth time this year I had to stop you from bulling.” A teacher showed up.

“I’m sorry Mr. Granit, but you see this nice kind sophomore-“TJ the senior began saying, but interrupted by Karen.

“Your eye is twitching.” Karen said. Aqua, Jim, and Jake broke into laughter. TJ looked at them angry. The group stopped laughing.

“Yes, but Mr. TJ I had to stop your four times this year when school started last Thursday.” Mr. Granit said. Aqua came to conclusion he was a principle.

“Sorry, so what is it this time? 2, 4, 6, 10?” He asked naming hours for detention.

“I believe I’m going to do something a lot worst, you’re off the football team for the rest of the year.” Mr. Granit said.

“But sir, I’m a senior and this is my last year, plus I have a chance for a scholarship…” TJ started rambling on.

“No buts, I will be notifying Coach John soon.” Mr. Granit said then walking away. TJ glared at the group then walked away. Karen helped Jim up off the ground.

“Thanks you guys, I would have been dead meat there. I didn’t do his report, just mine, nor did her give me any other homework assignments.” Jim said.

“Oh it’s no problem Jim, glad we could all help.” Jake said. Aqua nodded. The bell rang and the group headed inside. Jake and Jim went towards there homeroom. Aqua found out she’s in homeroom with Karen. They went in to see it was by the swimming pool, and it was a bio classroom. However the pool was not full of students or empty, but full of dolphins. A man was walking around throwing fish in. The minute the bell rang everybody sat down. Aqua grabbed the only empty seat way in the back next to some boy who smelled like fish. Aqua held her breath.

“That man in there, he be one creeper, he has magic abilities much like the mermaid or dolphin queen for they say, you young lady…” The boy started saying then turning to Aqua getting her attention.

“You be new with no houses for sell, but my granddads. You the one who bought it?” He asked. Aqua knew it must have been Karen’s twin brother, a real creeper. His name was Ty. He smelled like fish and talked with a sailor Irish accent. He had a tad bit of facial hair starting to pop up. Aqua turned her head everybody looking.

“So it be true, some child did buy it, for you will be cursed, plus I shall get my house back.” Ty said standing up.

“Hey Ty sit down and leave the new girl alone.” The teacher came in. Surprisingly unlike Ty he barely smelled like fish.

“Your Aqua right? Ok I’m Mr. Shi. You can call me Mr. S, or whatever.” Mr. Shi said. Aqua nodded. He began taking role. Surprised Aqua saw the high school news she had at her old school, Channel One. Soon Aqua’s first day of school started.

The bell rang and students went walking or running out of the school. Some went over and sat around palm trees doing homework or talking a few headed to the football/ soccer/ baseball/ track/ field hockey field. Aqua headed out and leaned on the bike ramp where the group had their bikes. Aqua began to smell him, many other apparently did as well picking up their stuff and running one got bad and went and threw up in the trash.

“Aye there be the young maiden. Aqua’s your name huh? Weird you be buying the house of mermaids most hated and feared man in the sea, is it so your family can still strive there?” Ty asked.

“What? No, my name is Aqua because my mom chose it.” Aqua said. She was getting mad for him calling her a mermaid.

“Aye, how do I know you be not lying?” Ty asked.

“Leave her alone Ty.” Karen walked up saving Aqua from her misery.

“Yeah why not leave us all alone.” Someone yelled.

“Go jump a bridge like your grandfather did, unless you already did and your mermaid saved you.” Someone else yelled people began yelling things to be offensive to Ty. Aqua saw Ty’s face change to a normal sad high school student.

“Guys stop, maybe Ty is right, maybe I am a mermaid, or maybe I’m not. Does it really matter? No, sure he reeks is annoying, and believes in something that normal six year old in fact not even that believe in. So what it’s just the way he grew up. His atmosphere.” Aqua said defending for Ty.

“His sister isn’t a creep.” Someone yelled.

“Maybe I am, let’s face it, who is and who isn’t, you all think he’s a creep, well I think Jim’s a creep yet I hang out with him.” Karen said. Whispering and talking began among the students.

“I guess you’re right, many people think I’m a creep yet I’m dating the most popular football player in eleventh grade.” A fattish kind of girl stepped out saying.
“Yeah come on guys, nobody is a creep, everybody is the same, we’re all equal, created equal.” Aqua said. Then someone broke out.

“She’s a Yankee!” He yelled. People began talking and so on.

“Go back to your hole, rat!” Someone yelled.

“Stop, yes I am a Yankee, but that’s like 200 years behind us, if you’re calling me a Yankee, I think you guys are ancient history, in fact you would be.” Aqua said.

“Just go back to what you all were doing.” Jake broke in. A few gasps were heard. He was all wet and in his swim trunks. A few girls began talking about how hot he was. Aqua smiled. She walked over to him. Everybody went back to doing what they were doing.

“I’m so sick of this. I think we need to try and turn that boy normal.” Jake said.

“Swimming again?” Jim asked coming up with many books in his hands. Karen sighed walking over grabbing them and throwing them towards the laughing football players.

“Come on, Ty, you up for it, we’ll change his accent give him eight showers and new cloths. I bet he be good as new.” Karen said. The group nodded at the idea and looked at Ty who was holding his head. He perked up and nodded.

Chapter 5~ Grandson of a Sailor
The group took off to their own homes. An hour later they all met at the shopping mall. It was small it had a grocery store, a clothing store, a dollar store, a gift store, and a pet store. Ty came up hair all wet shaved and actually smelled like nothing. ‘The group nodded and headed in.

“Ok we need to start on appearance. All you have is these old fashion sailor outfits from grandpa, guess what they’re ugly and trash. So time for some new cloths.” Karen told him.

“What’s wrong with them? They were all grandfathers.” Ty said. Aqua shook her head.

“Well one reason is grandpa was 98 and your 15. Huge age difference, now that clothing store has many stores with clothing in it. I think for this sailor boy, Hollister might work.” Karen said. The others nodded. They walked over to the guys clothing for Hollister and gave Ty many outfits. After a half hour they had a total of 12 outfits picked out.

“Now let’s go get him some sport outfits, just down the road dicks opened.” Jim said.

“Your one to be talking sport outfits.” Karen said rolling her eyes. Jim didn’t do anything as the group hopped on their bikes and headed down the road. They picked out 3 outfits. They also picked out a few running jackets and a sweat shirt. They all headed home. Jake went inside his house as did Aqua. She went to her room and she stopped thinking she saw someone out on her deck. She looked and someone was on her balcony. They walked over to the door and knocked. Aqua went and answered it. It was Ty.

“Hey what are you doing here?” Aqua asked.

“I wanted to see if you wanted to go on a boat ride, I was about to take my boat out for some time.” Ty said. Aqua shrugged.

“Ok I guess.” Aqua said. She ran downstairs and told her parents where she was going and followed Ty to the harbor. She boarded the ship. It was a sail boat and motor boat. He put the sail up though. They sailed out. They were about a mile out from land when Ty dropped anchor Aqua was sitting looking back at the harbor. Ty came and sat down.

“My grandfather always dropped his anchor here for what he calls the magic hour.” Ty said. Aqua looked at him.

“So I want you to spend this magic hour with someone special.” Ty said walking off. Aqua looked to see Ty open a closet and Jake come walking out smiling holding some flowers. Ty went below deck. The minute Jake sat down in front of the sun set three dolphins leaped out of the ocean. Aqua was amazed as more followed. Jake put his arm around her and smiled.

“How did you know about all of this?” Aqua asked.

“My grandfather who died when I was 5 was a sailor and a friend of Ty and Karen’s grandfather and they would come out and both anchor their boats and watch the magic hour with their families.” Jake said. Aqua smiled at Jake.
“Thanks.” Aqua said snuggling close hiding from the cool ocean breeze watching the dolphins with her curious blue eyes. After about an hour and the sun was completely down, they took the boat back into the harbor. Jake walked Aqua home. She knew though that she got her first boy friend, a surfer, and a grandson of a sailor.

    Chapter 6~ Adventure at Sea

Aqua went and fell asleep. She dreamed a magical dream. Her swimming with the dolphins, laughing with them, eating fish, and jumping out of the water during the magic hour. She though herself was almost a dolphin. She was a dolphin in her dream, but she walked up on landing seeing Jake. Jake walked over to her and hugged her. They laughed and played and both fell in the water going on an underwater adventure. Unlike before she was more like a mermaid in that part and Jake was human. Then Jake began to speak, but a dark old voice came out.

“Stay away from singing cove.” The person said. Aqua then woke up hearing her alarm clock. It was a good dream till that happened. She put her hand on her head as it was pounding. She got out of bed and got dressed. She walked outside and saw the others at Jakes house they all had frantic looks on their faces.

“Hey guys what’s going on?” Aqua asked they looked at her.

“Right after you two had your date Jake went out surfing and never came home, he’s missing.” Ty said worried. Aqua felt her world come down hard on her.

“What!? We need to go find him!” Aqua exclaimed.

“The coast guard already headed out.” Karen said worried as well. Jim’s face was down and depressed. Aqua was also sad and down now.

“Come on I got an idea.” Ty said. He led the group down to the harbor. They got on his boat. He gave them all wet suits.

“We’re going to look for him, he usually goes out surfing at singing cove so let’s go there and look.” Ty said. The group nodded as they all got in the wet suits. About an hour later they were at singing cove and looking around.

“Hey Ty where is that island grandpa talked about where that women and the women and men she took in go, maybe Ty’s surf board caught another wave taking him to that island.” Karen said.

“Hmm, oh yeah, it’s worth a check.” Ty said. About a half hour the group came to a small island covered with trees.

“Ok I’ll anchor here because I don’t know how it’s like closer to the island. You guys can go and check it out.” Ty said. The group put on the rest of the scuba diving gear and went down. Aqua broke away from the group trying to get to the island quickly. She stopped when she saw something swimming in the darkness torwards her. She saw it was a bunch of dolphins. They seemed like they wanted her to follow her, she did. She saw it got shallow and stood up then she saw him, Jake. He was on shore waves washing over him but not touching his face pasted out.

“JAKE!” Aqua yelled running up. The others heard her and looked and saw her run up on the beach. She knelt down next to him and saw he was all white and cold. She began to cry she laid her hand on his cheek. Was he dead? She was not sure. She had to help him. She saw out of the corner of her eye Ty dive in soon he was over there. He began pushing down on his chest. Aqua looked though and notice his eyes were partially open.
“He’s alive, Jake come on move do something.” Aqua pleaded. He began to move a figure somewhat.

“He’s alive, but he doesn’t have any energy we need to get him to the hospital.” Ty said as the others got up on land. Aqua turned and looked seeing the coast guard. She stood up and moved her arms. They saw her and quickly got to them. They took Jake and headed back to the island. Aqua was worried. It was an adventure at sea she never wanted to take again.

While swimming back she looked to see the dolphins that showed her where Jake was. She smiled at them then noticed one of the dolphins winked at her. She blinked some and was confused as they swam off. They got back on the boat and headed back to the harbor.

Chapter 7~ Mysteries of the Key West Coast Guard

When they got back they were met up with a coast guard there.

“You kids did some dangerous things back there, but if it weren’t for you we would never would have found that kid, so we thank you for your assistance.” The coast guard said to the group.

“Thanks, but Jake’s our friend so we needed to help.” Karen explained to the coast guard. The coast guard nodded.

“Well we’re still grateful, but don’t do that again, nor go near that island again, a few reasons, a bunch of new baby dolphins are there and we don’t want to bother them, and the other reason is its dangerous, for some weird reason the waves have been getting stronger pulling victims under water even small sail boats like yours.” The coast guard said in an eerie voice. They all looked at him and Ty nodded.

“Yes sir.” Ty said. The coast guard smiled at them then walked off.

“That was a tad weird.” Ty said.

“No it wasn’t the coast guard just told us not to go there.” Karen said.

“Yeah, but grandpa nor have I have any troubles going there, in fact it’s calm water, very nice to fish in.” Ty said. He rubbed his chin.

“Well let’s not worry about it, we need to think of a good reason why we skipped school and get back to school for the next hour left of it.” Jim spoke up and said. Everybody in the group nodded. They all ran off to school. When they got there everybody looked at them, especially Ty, it was his first day in his new school and didn’t smell like fish. They got in school fine due to the coast guard calling the school and explaining everything. Towards the end of the day, Aqua was stopped by her homeroom teacher.

“Hey Aqua, I heard you and your friends were helping the coast guard in finding your friend.” Mr. Shi said to Aqua. She nodded.

“I even heard you went to that dangerous island, ship wreck cove, it’s a great place for dolphin research unfortunately only a selective few can go there, and I got a notification in the mail about that yesterday. I guess it’s brand new.” Mr. Shi said to Aqua. Aqua shrugged.

    “I guess so.” Aqua said.

“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.” Mr. Shi said. Aqua nodded.

“Yeah.” She said walking off. She got on her bike and saw everyone was gone, was she talking to Mr. Shi that long? She looked around confused. She rode off. Mr. Shi, back in his room was looking at his dolphins smiling, an eerie smile.

When Aqua got home she saw her step father getting yelled at by the coast guard. She dropped her bike down.

“Sir, we need to take possession of your dolphins, we’ll be releasing all of them back into the wild.” The coast guard said to him.

“I’m sorry, but again you can’t do that, I have papers from high up to do this for all of you in the Navy, these dolphins are smart, I’ve been training them and researching them, I have papers to prove it.” Steve, Aqua’s step father said.

“I’m sorry sir.” The coast guard said again pushing him to the side.

“Steve, my husband is right, you can’t posses our dolphins, their like his kids.” Aqua heard her mother said then she heard glass break.

“Mom!” Aqua said running in to see her mother on the floor a glass vase next to her broken. The coast guard looked at Aqua and had a small grin. A coast guard picked her up and held the entire family off to the side as they began to unload all the dolphins and put them on a truck. After the truck left the coast guard let them go and left. The family went over to the door and watched them leave.

“Honey are you alright?” Steve asked Aqua’s mother.

“Yes I am, but what about the dolphins?” Aqua’s mother asked. Steve shrugged; he was obviously hurt about losing all his hours of research. Aqua felt bad and headed outside. She sat down on the beach, she looked out to sea. She saw someone out of the corner of her eye, it was Jake. He came over and sat down next to her.

    “What’s wrong?” Jake asked.

“The coastguard took all of Steve’s research and broke a valuable family err loom vase.” Aqua said. Jake looked at her.

“They can’t do that.” Jake said.

“There the law, they can and they did.” Aqua said. Jake wrapped his arm around her.

“Well I don’t think it’s fair.” Jake said. Aqua smiled at him. They looked out at the setting sun. Aqua though saw off in the distance the coast guard, what was up with it though, it the mystery of the key west coast guard.

Okay,I noticed a few mistakes here (I think) it's quite hard to read, due to bad English here and there plus,I don't know if this is a mistake but
That was a very confusing mistake you made there,ad I think the stor is going to be an adventure/romance one.

Chapter 8~ Mythical Legend of the Child of Ship Wreck Island
“So that class is the mythical legend of Ship Wreck Island.” The teacher in social studies said to the class. Aqua sat in class listening to the story carefully. She glanced over at Ty who was biting his lip. Aqua knew by that, that Ty knew a bit more of a legend from his grandfather about Ship Wreck Island. She ignored him and looked up at the teacher. Aqua raised her hand.

“So this kid on Ship Wreck Island is said to still wonder the island and swim around to this day, is there any records of the coast guard seeing him or her?” Aqua asked. The teacher shook her head.

“To what I know, no, but who knows with government.” The teacher said. The bell rang and that marked the end of the day as the class headed out.

“That was so hard; there is about a billion more things with that kid then just him swimming around.” Ty said.

“Really like what?” Aqua asked Ty as they met up with the others.

“Well that kid was said to be the only man who escaped the mermaids curse, but so he couldn’t run away back to the main island he was turned into a small boy who is forced to swim and live in the water like a mermaid, but he’s a full human form and not a dolphin boy.” Ty said. Aqua rolled her eyes.

“It’s interesting, but come on when you going to let go of that?” Aqua asked Ty. Ty looked at her and walked ahead. She ignored it.

“Well why don’t we go look for him then?” Ty said.

    “We can’t though.” Aqua said.

“I’ve been sailing those waters for forever, I don’t care what the coast guard says, and we can go out there.” Ty said. Aqua sighed.

“Hey guys.” Aqua said getting annoyed with Ty.

“Ty what are you talking about now?” Karen bugged in.

“How we should go to Ship Wreck Island.” Ty said.

    “We can’t though.” Jim said.

“Well we might be able to.” Ty said looking at Jake.

    “What?” Jake asked.

“The coast guard told us, but not Jake, and if I rember right, your family has you grandfathers sail boat still.” Ty said.

    “Yeah, so…” Jake said.

“All of us will hide on board while Jake will go through carefully.” Ty said.

“We make it, we make it. Plus his sail boat has a flat bottom meaning we can put on land and hide it.” Ty said.

“I don’t know…” Jim said. Aqua nodded with Jim.

“Heh why not, what could go wrong?” Karen said. The group looked at each other. Jim, Aqua, and Jake let out a sigh. They headed home then walked back to the harbor. They got on Jake’s family boat as they hid in a cargo bin on deck. Soon they headed off. For about an hour they were behind the island and hidden from the coast guard. Jake got the ship up on land and helped everyone out while they hid the boat.

“See we made it.” Ty said.

“Fine I guess you’re right, now where’s this boy?” Aqua asked.

“He lives in the water rember.” Ty said. The group took off their swim suit cover ups having there swim suits on diving in the water. They all broke out separate everybody with their own water proof cameras, all but Aqua. For a while Aqua has been swimming then found a little under water cave. She swam down enough to see that in that cave it came up revealing land. She swam up through and came out. She walked up the sure there to find herself in a secret cave. She could tell by the walls that the cave filled up during high tide. She looked around and saw carvings in the walls. In the middle of the room was a little statue. A girl who looked like a mermaid was holding a gem it was an aqua color and dolphins were with her around her stone body. Aqua walked up to the gem and went to touch it.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Don’t touch that!” Aqua turned around to see Ty found the secret cave as well.

    “What is it?” Aqua asked.

“It makes anybody a dolphin or mermaid by touching it.” Ty said.

“How do you know about all this?” Aqua asked.

“My grandfather.” Ty said. “Now come on, high tide will be soon.” Ty said. Aqua nodded. Ty dove in the water, but Aqua stopped and looked to see a little boy behind a rock who looked like he was crying then he ducked down underwater and disappeared. Was that the kid of Ship Wreck Island?

    Chapter 10~ The Dream
Aqua lay awake. She stared out as she saw the occasional light house light go out and over. She put her hand down and scooped up some sand and let it fall through her fingers. She stood up and walked out to sea. She kept walking as the water got deeper and deeper. Soon many dolphins greeted her and out came a little human boy holding the hand of a mermaid hold an aqua color gem. The mermaid held it out to Aqua. Aqua laid her hand on the gem as it glowed bright. The next minute she knew she was swimming and leaping out of the water, herself a mermaid as well. She swam with the dolphins. She stopped and talked to Steve’s dolphin now a wild spirit just like herself. As Aqua swam in her kingdom and home she saw a sail boat and popped up to great the people on the boat, it was all her friends, but Jake. They looked down on her in disgrace and shook their heads.

“You touched the gem, and now look what you have done.” Ty said as a newspaper fell in the water marking the death of a teenage boy, not any teenage boy, but Jake, the ink smeared off the paper and onto her body. Aqua looked to her friends as they threw a fish net at her. She kept dodging the nets as they kept throwing them. Aqua swam and swam down till she found a dead body, not anybody, but the body of Jake his eyes wide open staring up at the moon outside the water. She began to cry, it was crying sending articles above to the ocean top, girl drowns boy, boy dies of love, boy suffers terrible death. Soon before she knows it she’s captured by fishing net and is in Mr. Shi’s biology class pool getting fed fish.

Aqua jerked up and looked outside as she was in her bedroom. She breathed in and out. Aqua checked and moved her legs in scissor action making sure they weren’t fins or something.

Aqua has been living at the key west for a month now, and having the same dreams over and over of her being a mermaid swimming with the dolphins. She didn’t get the dreams to well. She sighed and fell back in bed. She looked at her hand and examined it.

“Why do I keep having the same dream?” Aqua asked herself. She lay back down in bed. Some weird things have happened when she moved to the key west. Aqua pulled out her dream diary and wrote down the dream she just had. Her dream diary had every dream she waken up to or remembered the next morning written in it. She wrote the dream and began flipping through all the dreams she had. They were all basically the same thing, nothing different nothing new. She sighed. She began to wonder what her mother, Steve, and all her friends would think if they knew of the dreams she has been having. She closed her diary and put it back in the drawer. She lay back down and looked at her dolphin poster.

“Dive into your Dreams.” Aqua read the words on the poster aloud. She wondered if she was meant to dive in the dreams she has been having. She got out of bed and walked out on her balcony.

“Dive into my dreams…” Aqua said when she finished a group of dolphins were leaping in and out of the water towards the cove. Aqua looked at them and ran downstairs. She grabbed her wet suit and put it on. She walked outside and down to the cove. She began walking into the water the dolphins swimming around her following her. The minute she was two deep to walk she dived under and was swimming, where she wasn’t sure. After a while she saw a bright light and someone swimming towards her. She stopped as it turned out to be a mermaid! The mermaid was swimming right up to her and held a gem in her hand.

“Young Aqua, it’s great to finally meet you, I’ve seen you up on land, your such a beautiful girl, more then what I could expect you to be, I guess I should introduce myself, I am the guardian of the sea and Aqua I am your mo-“The mermaid began to say before in the corner of Aqua’s eyes she saw a group of people dive in the water. The coast guard.

“Oh no, come this way.” The mermaid said grabbing Aqua’s hand and swimming off. Aqua looked and saw a lot more boats. Then she saw her bio teacher.

“We got her.” He said in an evil and good way inside his helmet echoing through the water some way. Aqua soon saw herself blacking out.

Aqua woke later her vision all blurry. She was shivering and felt real weak. She saw her mother and Steve standing over her worry looks on their face, when she looked at them she saw some of it lift off her face.

    “What- what happened?” Aqua asked.

“You almost drowned to death. You and Jake went missing and we came after you, it must have when you went swimming.

“Huh? Jake where is he?” Aqua asked. Her mother looked away.

“He was not found yet, they believe by now he’s dead it’s been almost a full 24 hours.” Steve said. Aqua shot up like a rocket despite feeling weak.

    “WHAT!?” She yelled weakly.

“You and Jake went out swimming and never returned your parents came to us to go and find you.” Aqua looked to see her bio teacher Mr. Shi in a coast guard uniform.

“Swimming, with Jake? I went alone.” Aqua said.

“Well we hollered down to you to hurry up swimming we didn’t hear you call back so we went to the coast guard.

“But I was at home asleep and Jake he went out surfing after I went home.” Aqua said.

“Well you must have missed each other because we found you in the water half drowned to death.” Mr. Shi said standing up and looking over at her. Aqua saw something in his eyes that he was hiding something. He saw that she was looking and turned.

“Well why don’t we let you get some rest, Steve, Linda I’d like to speak with you alone, please.” Mr. Shi said stepping out of the room. Linda was Aqua’s mother’s name. They tucked her under the covers and stepped out of the room flipping the lights down low. Low enough to see. Aqua turned and looked in a mirror. Her body and face was all white around her eyes they were red. She looked up at her ceiling. She refused to believe Jake was dead.
Was that mermaid real? Or was it all just a dream?

“The dive into the dream.” Aqua said aloud soon falling asleep.

    Chapter 11~ Staring… Merman!?
After three months, Jake’s body was never found and he was confirmed dead and lost at sea. Aqua returned home and never wanted to leave her little lighthouse sitting room. She stayed up there looking out into the water looking for Jake hoping he would leap out of the water with the dolphins ready to explain everything to her. She sighed and picked up her sketch book and flipped through them looking at all his sketches of surfing or swimming or just sitting on the beach. Aqua sighed and closed it up. She didn’t and still didn’t believe he was lost at sea. Something told her that he was out there, out there waiting for her. She leaned on her knees prompted up and felt tears landing on her bare arms. She was sad because she lost the person that got her settled into her new home, told her of the story of singing cove real or not, her very first boy friend. He was gone, just like his father and sister and her father who died in a car accident. She glanced out to sea. She could almost hear Jake’s words. ‘Don’t cry Aqua I’ll be back soon, I promise.’ It said to her. She shook her head she was so sad. She heard footsteps up the metal stairs in the lighthouse. She looked to see some people she thought she never see. Real quietly her friends and Jake’s friends came walking in and sat down next to her not saying a word, but looking out to sea.

“Life stinks.” Jim finally said about a half hour of them staring out to sea.

“You got that right, hey I better get going.” Karen said standing up. Jim got up and grabbed her hand. When Aqua was in the hospital the two unlikely couple became a couple. They headed down the stairs. Aqua still looked out the window not paying attention to Ty who was still in the room. Aqua did see him perk up his head and slightly move his arm forward.

“Look! See that, it’s a merman!” Ty whispered. Aqua looked and saw a teenage boy sticking his head out of the water. When Aqua looked and the two of them locked eyes he vanished below the surface of the water. Aqua moved and stood up. She knew those eyes, they were eyes she loved and dreamed for so long and wanted very much. Jake’s. She ran down the stairs. She ran outside and ran down to the cove and stood at the water’s edge. She looked out and saw the boy again. Neither one said anything. She wondered if she was dreaming. No she wasn’t dreaming, Ty saw him, saw the merman, but not Jake. Aqua took a step out. She kept her eye on him.

“Jake?” Aqua finally asked. The merman looked at her. She saw a small grin show up, Jake’s grin. He went down below.

“Wait! No! Jake…” Aqua said completely up to her neck in water. Was it him? Was it really Jake? Or was it just a staring man, a staring merman?

Chapter 12~ The Secret of the Pool
Days again have gone by. Aqua has refused the fact that Jake is dead. Only with Ty she shares what she really thinks has happened to him. Only him no one else. It was March. Aqua was losing sight of hope. She hasn’t seen the merman Jake since February. At the end of the day she sat in her homeroom. She did not enjoy being in this room, something never did feel right like she was being observed. She sat in homeroom finishing a biology test. Mr. Shi stood up and walked over to the door. He opened up the door to the pool with only three dolphins in it. He walked over to another door and looked seeing if anyone was looking. He opened the door, Aqua glanced up in doing so she felt like something dear to her was in that room then she saw something a giant fish tank and a hand with a tail, it was either a mermaid or merman. She shook her head. She had completely gone crazy just like Ty’s grandfather did and Ty almost did. Though she felt something in there. She needed to find out, how though? She finished her test she got an idea. She walked over to the pool door and erased one question she knew the answer to. She erased it well. She walked over to the door and knocked on it. She waited for him.

“Might I help you Aqua?” A voice said. She jumped around startled.

“There’s a back door I had to throw away some stuff in the back of the school. So do you need something?” It was Mr. Shi. She nodded.

“Yeah I’m confused on this question. What exactly do you mean what cellular respiration supplies to photosynthesis?” Aqua asked.

“Well how does cellular respiration help photosynthesis?” Mr. Shi asked.

“By Ummm oh wait would it be c?” Aqua asked showing him the paper. He smiled and walked away.

“Ok C it is.” Aqua said circling it while they walked. She stopped hearing a yell of a familiar voice, Jake, screaming for help.

“Come on I’m sure you want to get home. It’s a weekend so what are you and your friends up to?” Mr. Shi asked bringing Aqua into his room.

“Well we were going to possibly take the boat out.” Aqua said. He smiled.

“That’s good, well I’ll see you next week.” Mr. Shi said. Aqua nodded and waved leaving. She had a bad feeling about Mr. Shi and that secret room. Surprisingly she saw Ty sitting outside waiting for her.

“So how’d your test go?” Ty asked.

“Ok.” Aqua replied and got on her bike.

“Hey Ty, are you any good in breaking into buildings?” Aqua asked. He tilted his head.

    “Yeah sure, why?” Ty asked.

“Good you’ll help me tonight; Mr. Shi’s one room has me very suspicious about it.”Aqua said. Ty shrugged as they rode off. Once Aqua got home she changed into tight sweatpants, tennis shoes and a workout tight tang top. She was going to find out about Mr. Shi’s secret room and hopefully find Jake. She would solve the mystery of the pool.
