Chaos searched Sothe's mind, and found the name of his companion. Colm. . .

Using all his will, he called out to Colm.

Colm, don't be afraid of my voice. My name is Chaos, the one you saw before we were captured. Sothe is safe with me.

Chaos let the light inside him flow through is body. Linking his mind with Sothe's, he allowed him to borrow his power.

Give 'em hell Sothe.

 

Kyrian

"Enough!" Kyrian walked to Sothe.

"I must say that was impressive, however feeble it was." Kyrian looked him over. "What is your name?"

Mariana

Mariana was sitting in front of her room's fire, using the flames to scry out Kullyn, her High Minister.

Kullyn was in her palace's conference room, speaking to a messanger from Drakonia.

"And was does Lord Tourias want from us?" Kullyn asked.

"His Majesty Drakonis hold your country in high regard. He wishes for your assistance against Silivas."

Kullyn tossed his head, "Guards, Counsel, leave us!" He turned to the messanger. "With our noble queen dead, I am ruling in her stead. What can Lord Tourias offer me in return?"

Mariana nearly lost her focus, and the image grew fogged for a moment.

"His Majesty is willing to give all spoils of war, including half of Silivian territory to you. Including its massive Silver City. And all spoils."

Kullyn sat, stroking his chin in thought. "I see no reason to refuse, Lord Tourias will have full assistance from Ivania."

"My thanks my lord, and his Majesty's thanks as well." The messanger turned to leave.

Kullyn sensed he was being watched, and with a wave of his hand, Mariana's vision was gone.

She pulled back from the flames, and regained her normal vision. She tried to stand, and move to the bed, but she was frozen in shock.

So this is why there's been no help. Tourias, along with Kullyn will attack Silivas. Her abduction was a ruse. Her death was the excuse. . .

Even now, all she could see was. . .

Chaos

Sothe, wait! We must hold. If we leave now, we will be pursued.

Kyrian

"Wait! I would ask for your assistance! If you are indeed mercenaries, I have a job for you."

Chaos

Lets hear him out Sothe.

"And what is this offer?"

 

Kyrian

Kyrian thought a moment, then looked to Chaos. "I'll pay you both whatever you desire. Gold, weapons, property, anything."

Chaos looked Kyrian in the eye, "And you promise our freedom until you need us? We will need time to prepare."

Kyrian tossed his head. "Yes, just within two days."

Chaos

"All I ask is for my freedom, and before the king is executed, I want to speak to him personally."

"Of course." Kyrian nodded.

Tell him what you want Sothe, best include the safety of you and your companion.

 

Kyrian

"All shall be granted, a full pardon for both of you."

Kyrian turned serious. "You can let the guard go now. Guards! Leave us!"

"You two go to the inn and rest. Tomorrow, I'll go over what needs to be done."

Chaos

"My thanks your Majesty." He turned to Sothe, "Shall we go Sothe?"

 

Kyrian

"Guard! Get this man his equipment!" A guard came forward with Sothe's and Chaos' equipment.

"Now, as I said. I will brief you both tomorrow. Now, rest."

Chaos

"Thank you again my Lord." He turned toward the exit, "Now, lets go."
