Because we cannot continue our little discussion in the other thread, perhaps we can settle our differences here.

You claim that I'm being arrogant, yet here you tell me my opinion on what I was referring to doesn't matter, and that the only thing that is important is what you said. Honestly?

And another thing, "definitions are only used to confuse people"? Since when? Definitions are meant to clarify words. To give a word more than one meaning for various references. How annoying would it be to say or read "said" in a book. Exclaim, cry, shout. These are three words that can mean the same thing if you are reading or writing something. However, they allow for readers and writers to have a fresh word to use -or see- and not repeat themselves -or get bored-.

To say that there is only one definition for a word means that there is only one definition for every word, because otherwise you are twisting things to fit your argument.

The word pride doesn't just reference a feeling of superiority over others, it also means the view one haves of themself. If someone has an extremely high self esteem then that is called being egotistical which is shortened to "ego".

I beg to differ on that last comment. See above reply as to why.

That sense of arrogance you've been seeing in my posts is more than like attributed to my style of writing. I'd like to say that I'm not arrogant, but I know where that will lead.

As for my mod abilities on another site, it does matter. I never said it makes me better, however it makes me more well equipped to see where one post will lead. The little spat with you and Brandon would have -more than likely- lead to an off-topic "No you shut up" fight with both of you telling the other why you shouldn't "shut up". All I was doing was seeing to that both of you stopped. Not because I think I'm better than you, but because you both had an opinion that you were entitled to, and you were both in the wrong to tell the other to shut up.

Does it matter if I came off as arrogant to you, that I don't deserve any respect for my reasoning and my point of view? I was kind enough to allow you to express your opinions without berating you, yet you saw fit to say I was in denial, arrogant, egotistical, and annoying.

You have been difficult, but anyone with an opinion will be. I set forth my opinions and watched as you tried to shoot them down by saying all the mentioned views above. Now I ask for a civil debate between you and me here so that we may find some middle ground and hopefully resolve our differences.
