Dude, that is the entire point of a debate thread. Why do you even post in here if you don't like it when people point out things you disagree with?

And bless you for your last post, Haresuno. I could not agree with your "rant" more. ^_^

And some people could say the same thing about Christianity.

I agree with this statement for the most part, but I think people can still get some benefit (like comradery) from belonging to a church and attending services. I think people just have to remember that they are hearing their priest/pastor/what-have-you's interpretation and that it's okay to have a different take on the topic.

(SummonerBrandon's Post about the Apostle crap)

^Everything you just freakin' said basically means that all hardcore, ignorant, "My way is right, your way is wrong, Gays must die," - esque religious freaks are the people that the Apostle is warning about.

Have you SEEN how hostel some super-religious fanatics are?
Back when slavery was mainstream and prevalent, the Bible also said that the white man was god's gift to the earth and all other ethnicities weren't human.

The bible's been rewritten over the centuries by people in control of power at the time to fit their specific preferences. Meaning, that everything post Jesus that condemns and skews perceptions of select groups of people is basically BS.

    Hello Old-World ignorant perspectives everyone.
    Have you answered yet?

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

-___- I said that because I'm seeing what Mythril be talking about certain christians & I don't feel like repeating myself over & over. It's annoying when I do that. -__- & Autopsy, I said about the part that whoever try to even change or take out something in the bible will be condemned. (In other words, a white man must've add that in there just so they can start acting like slavery is needed & that blacks are filths.)

I think that christianity has it's secrets the same way hinduism & the other religions have their secrets but why should people should even hide the truths from people so that everyone can actually try to gain eternal life?

What religion are you on about? I know the church has its secrets but I have never heard anything about eternal life...

So you're saying, every time the Bible mentions slavery (which it does, often, and not specifically about blacks), a white slave owner edited that in later to make themselves look better? *raises eyebrow*

If that's true, why should I believe anything in the Bible?

Some passages describing slavery in the Bible

This is a DEBATE! You're supposed to debate back and forth and continue defending your position.

Gawd, does anyone else miss Mike right now?

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

-___- I KNOW THIS IS A DEBATE! I just hate repeating the same sentence that I've said in the past 5 or 6 times & that be annoying me. That's just me! Anyways, I do believe that someone must've went & changed some things in the bible (Don't know if my bible has that because I don't be reading a pasage that actually states about slavery) but even if someone did add some things in the bible that slavery is needed, I wouldn't go far & start having doubts that God actually approves slavery. I don't even think that God even said that in his own words. I'm persuaded that anyone evil can change some things in the bible. (Yes, I believe Mythril on this one.) Still, there are the true words of God like loving one another & to get into the spirit that I will believe.

As for the eternal life Avalantos, I'm not sure myself but I read that (It's not in the bible. It's in a part of Revelations that was taken out.) in heaven, there are no suns or moons & the tree of life gives out overflowing waters. The rest I want to keep to myself because I'm still trying to have a good viewpoint on this. Especially about what the world actually is. Want to cry everytime I want to read this to have a good understanding.

Edit: What if the reason that they took out things from the bible is so we won't start knowing way too much for our own good?

And who were these people to decide what was good for us and what wasn't? I believe that the officials in charge (I suppose, the Catholic Church, but probably others as well) chose to censor the portions that they felt were threatening to themselves. Wouldn't want the masses to become too knowledgable and possibly revolt, would we? That's why back in the dark ages the Bible was only printed in Latin- so that only the priests who were trained in the language would be able to read it. And why they used to burn people who printed it in any other language.

Does your Bible include Leviticus 25:44-46, Exodus 21:2-6, Exodus 21:7-11, Exodus 21:20-21, Ephesians 6:5, 1 Timothy 6:1-2, and Luke 12:47-48 (all of the New Living Translation, and mentioned in the link I posted in my last response)?

How do you know if a passage is the "true word of God" or something someone slipped in later?

I'm sure you're serious, but there's always the slight chance you're kidding. Most, if not all, of Christianity talks about eternal life. When you're in Heaven, you have eternal life.

    Yes.

So, I feel like pissing off the Vatican, because in a couple of years, I'm actually and will seriously propose to a woman I love, while in front of it, on one knee.

    The Catholic Church was like...
'we're gonna stop helping people if you pass the gay marriage law.'

Talk about a 2nd grade frat pack of retarded bullies.

Thats what I thought he meant, eternal life "in heaven".

But its not really life is it as you have to die to get there =/

The blatant messages that give too much away are minimal compared to the rest of the in-coded (not en-coded) messages that have far more implications. Plus, I'm pretty sure a lot of those in-coded messages are so carefully and precisely written that ordinary individuals (like modern day catholics, jews and the like) would not be able to completely interpret what was being said.

Wow, this proves me right on our previous discussion. This was everything I was talking about before. Thats why I think Jesus is the devil.
yes, you are right. But most people do not think in this way, and they get caught in the rant of the pastor or priest. Its sad.

The Bible is corrupt overall, not just pre-Jesus.

Yes, I miss Mike, but he's a lot older than us and he's probably off doing better things, lol.

And a lot of that slavery stuff can relate to something called "ALIENZ!!!".
Yes I am serious. You see, in the Bible much of what appears to be that old guy in the sky might really be lizard like creatures that fly disks in the clouds. It all goes back to Genesis, but thats for another time...
Why else would a "god" set up "rules" for slavery? Thats not god at all. Its other species that are ok with slavery, on part because they made slaves of us. THats why the Jews are considered holy, they are "god's people", but really they are just god's people because they are descendants of hybrids with the aliens. The aliens wanted to protect their own. Thats why they set up slavery rules to protect them.

Thats it exactly. They dont want us to get to smart and over throw authority or people in power. Thats why you've got to read, you've got to study, and you've got to live. So you can learn, so we can become better than "the flock".

Great points Toph, and thats exactly it. They didnt want people to know.

I see wat u mean. I have a thoery about reincarnation and hell. That we are all repeatedly reincarnated as different beings through out the universe, not just earth, and that we live and we die constantly, and THAT is eternal death, thats why i think the universe is hell. Because it makes sense. The goal is to break from the cycle with good karma, and earn eternal life in the spiritual realm.

Nah. Still don't think that the Jesus is the devil. Still reading the forgotten books (On the internet that is.). Also since that it says that Mary was with the Holy Spirit when she was pregnant.

no such thing, bibles were mostly made in the same time, and every religion has a "original" as they say so nay on that.

i looked it up, but it's kinda weird but it sounds like aliens could be real.

It sounds to me that the connection between 1 Enoch and aliens would be that fallen angels would come to earth disguised as aliens to corrupt mankind. The book doesn't suggest to me that aliens as most people imagine them actually exist.

The way I've seen this explained away is that slavery in Biblical times was different than the slavery we think about today- that Biblical slavery was based on social status, not race or nationality. People would often sell themselves to pay off debts, or become slaves so that they'd have a master who'd look after their needs.

"Another crucial point is that the purpose of the Bible is to point the way to salvation, not to reform society. The Bible often approaches issues from the inside out. If a person experiences the love, mercy, and grace of God by receiving His salvation, God will reform his soul, changing the way he thinks and acts. A person who has experienced God’s gift of salvation and freedom from the slavery of sin, as God reforms his soul, will realize that enslaving another human being is wrong. A person who has truly experienced God’s grace will in turn be gracious towards others. That would be the Bible’s prescription for ending slavery." (source for quote)

Lol..confusing 'fallen angels' as legitimate aliens.

What I understand from my little bit of research is that some people familiar with the Book of Enoch think that "there will be a great deception in the last days carried out by fallen Angels, who will pass themselves off to the world as Aliens from another world or dimension." I guess the thinking is that people are growing less sure of the existence of God (or gods), but are ready to believe that life on another planet exists. So people would be more open to trusting in the teachings of advanced, intelligent alien life forms than beings claiming to be angels. Or something like that. >_< (source for quote)
