Rebirth - Final Fantasy VIII

Prolouge:

3 years have passed since the battle with the evil Ultimecia. Peace now reigns over the world and our heros seem to be living normal lives. Squall has settled down with Rinoa, Selphie and Zell are out exploring the world, Lugana is now living in peace, Irvine is living close to Squall and Rinoa, and Edea and Cidd are living happily. But though they have enjoyed peace for 3 years Squall must soon take up the gunblade once again and this time it will be so much harder than he knows.

 

Chapter 1 - The Hero After the Battle:

Squall awoke to a bright room, the sun was shining a golden ray in his room. He made a small smile, but was confused as to why Rinoa was not laying next to him. The confusion soon ended as Rinoa popped into the room smiling and holding a tray with Squall's breakfast on it. Squall smilled and took the tray, laying it on the table. Rinoa sat on his lap and he held her, "Good morning, princess." He said as he kissed her soft lips, "Does my handsome prince like his breakfast?" She asked. Squall and nodded and said, "Yeah, but I love the woman who brought it even more."

Squall and Rinoa finished the food in about 15 minutes. Squall stood and stretched, "Well I suppose I should get ready." Squall put his clothes on and he and Rinoa walked out on the balcony of their house. Squall took in the smell of the fresh morning air, but his peace was interupted by the sound of gun shots. He and Rinoa looked at the direction the sound came from, the police were surrounding a bank. Squall noticed the robbers had a tank, "Rinoa, i'm going." He said. Rinoa nodded and said, "Be careful." Squall picke dup his gunblade and said, "Hey I defeated Ultimecia so this should be no problem." He ran out of the house and toward the bank. Rinoa smiled, "Just like old times." She said.

Squall used a banaster to get up on a roof. He jumped from roof to roof until he made it to the bank, he stood on the roof of the bank, the police had no clue he was there. He opened a hatch on the roof and jumped in, robbers waiting for him but he dispatched of them easily. Squall was in the lobby, he hid behind a desk as he heard robbers coming in. The robbers discussed how their boss was on the top floor where the safe was. Squall jumped from the deask and said, "Thanks for the info." He slashed through each robber and headed straight for the safe.

He hid behind a corner when he saw the boss and 3 robbers with him in the safe. Squall shot 3 robbers with a fire spell. The leader of the robbers was the only one that remained.

Squall knocked the leader out and carried him outside to the police.

The Sheriff smiled and said, "Yeah, your still the hero you were three years ago, thanks Squall." Squall nodded and said, "No problem." Squall had become abit of a star since he defeated the evil socceress Ultimecia. He walked back to his house and as he did he thought about how much he missed his friends. Rinoa saw Squall from her balcony, she could tell he was depressed. She decided she had to figure something out to make him feel better.

Sure this story is starting out good but things will soon get worse for Squall and his friends.

 

Chapter 2 - Planning the Party:

Squall entered the house and put his blade up. He sighed and stretched out on the sofa, "Rinoa, do you mind if I take a short nap?" Rinoa giggled and said, "Ofcourse not." Rinoa left the room as Squall fell into a peaceful sleep. She walked over to the phone and dialed Selphie's number, but there was no answer, so Rinoa left her a message. Then Rinoa dialed Quistis's number, Quists's picked up her phone and answered, "Hello?" Rinoa smiled and said, "Quists's, I am so glad you picked up." Quists's replied, "Oh Rinoa, good to hear you again. So what's up?" Rinoa answered, "Well I think Squall misses everyone, ofcourse he would never say it but I can tell he misses everyone." Quists's then asked her, "So what do you plan to do?" Rinoa smiled and said, "I thought we could have a reunion, a party." Quists's laughed, "That sounds fun, i'll give Cid a call." Rinoa nodded and said, "O'k, talk to you later." Rinoa hung the phone up and went to take a nap on the other sofa.

Meanwhile at Balamb Garden:

Cid walked into his old office, he had retired 1 year ago. He chose Quists to take his place as headmaster. Quists walked into the office and said, "Oh Cid, I was just about to call you. Rinoa is planning a reunion to cheer up Squall and she like for all of us to attended." Cid smiled and said, "Well i'm sure Edea will be happy to come, you can expect us to be there." Quists nodded and said, "Ya know, it's odd being the headmaster. I was so use to you being the headmaster." Cidd nodded and said, "Well all things must end and well, it was my time to step down as headmaster. Besides i'm happy now." Quists smiled and said, "I'm glad for you."

At Squall's house:

Rinoa awoke and stretched but when she did she quickly grasped her stomach, "Oww, what is going on?" She stood up and walked into the bathroom. It was only 15 minutes later that her screams could be heard. Squall awoke and banged on the locked bathroom door, "Rinoa, what's wrong? Let me in." Rinoa was shocked at what she saw, she could'nt believe this. She looked at the item in her hand and said, "I'm...."

Chapter 3 - Expedition in the Mountains:

Sorbald Mountains:

Selphie, Zell, and Irvine were mountain climbing. Irvine looked up at Selphie and asked, "Why are we climbing a mountain?" Selphie giggled and said, "Because air pirates supposedly stored their treasure here and if we find the treasure then we'll be rich." Irvine sighed, "Well I do like being rich." He said. Selphie was'nt paying attention and she slipped. Irvine grabbed her and said, "Next time be more careful." Selphie blushed and continued to climb with the two boys. They finally reach solid ground and Zell said, "Now can we eat?" Selphie giggled and said, "Sorry I forgot the food." Zell freaked out, "What!!!???" Irvine shook his head and said, "Oh you'll be fine." Zell sighed and said, "Yeah I guess."

The three walked into the ice cave but it was not a pleasent trip. Monsters attacked them, but the three dispatched them easily. Irvine looked up and said, "I hope this place does'nt collapse on us. It's looks unstable here." Selphie sighed, "Oh you'll be fine, nothing bad will happen." They came to a fork in the cave. Selphie pulled out some straws and said, "O'k, we'll draw straws to see who goes through which path. Whoever draws the two shortest straws will take the left path." Selphie drew the shortest and Irvine drew the next shortest. For some reason, Selphie was happy about the results. Selphie and Irvine took the left path while Zell took the right path.

At Galbadia:

Seifer, Fuujin, and Raijin were relaxing on a beach, well Fuu and Rai were anyways. Seifer was training at the nearby waterfall. Seifer was swiping at some training robots, the thoughts racing through his mind were of Squall. All he wanted was a rematch with Squall, to see who was truly stronger. Fuu walked upto Seifer and said, "Relaxe..." Rai nodded and said, "You need to chill, ya know." Seifer shook his head and said, "I have to become stronger so I can beat Squall." Rai then said, "But if you don't give your muscles time to relaxe then you wont be able to train as hard. They need rest so you can train harder." Seifer thought about it and said, "You have a point. Let's go get some lunch then" Fuu nodded and said, "O'k..."

At Balamb Garden:

Qusits looked out on the balcony and sighed, "Though this peace is nice, it is abit boring now. I'm not asking for trouble, I just want some adventure." Cid walked out on the balcony and said, "Well don't worry. Evil can never stay down for too long, eventually you'll have another adventure." Quists looked surprised, "Don't say that, headmaster Cid." Cid wagged his finger, "I'm not the headmaster anymore, just call me Cid." Quists nodded, "Right, sorry." Cid looked at his watch and said, "Well I should be getting back to Edea, call me about the party later." Quists nodded and said, "Ofcourse headmas....ofcourse Cid."

We will be catching up with Selphie, Zell, and Irvine in the next chapter and we may see how Laguna and Ellone are doing.

 

Chapter 4 - Romance in the Mountains:

Sorbald Moutains:

Selphie and Irvine continue to search in the cave, they found many monsters yet no treasure. Selphie kicked the Floor and said, "Stupid cave, i'm starting to think that there is no treasure." Irvine shook his head and said, "I thought you were the positive one?" Selphie looked at Irvine, "I'm also the angry one." Irvine laughed a little. Selphie suddenly slipped and fell down a deep hole. Irvine jumped in the hole and followed. Selphie could see an opening, she was about to fall out of the mountain but Irvine caught her. He pulled her up and sighed, "You o'k?" Then he noticed her leg was badly cut, "Oh no." Selphie hugged Irvine and said, "Thank you....I was so scarred." Irvine held her closer, "No problem...." He whispered.

Irvine carried Selphie on his back and climbed back into the cave. Once inside he continued to walk down the path. He came to an opening and saw Zell on a cliff about to open a treasure chest. Irvine smiled and said, "So there was treasure." Zell nodded and opened the chest, but to everyone's surprise Bahamut flew out of the chest.

Bahamut fell on top of Irvine, crushing some of his bones. Selphie screamed, "NO!!!" Bahamut dissapeared and Zell rushed to Irvine. Selphie pulled out her phone and called the rangers, she had to help him.

Short chapter, but i'm just so darn sleepy.

 

Chapter 5 - Rinoa's Surprise:

The rangers came quickly and helped Irvine, Selphie, and Zell into a helicopter. They flew to the nearest hospital where they started to treat the trio. It appears they would all be fine. Selphie was just thankful that Irvine was doing well, she could'nt wait till his broken ribs healed.

Meanwhile at Squall's House:

Squall shouted again at the door, "Rinoa, please answer me.....are you o'k?" Rinoa looked at the item in her hands, "Yeah....I'm fine Squall." She gulped and then she smiled. She opened the door and hugged Squall. Squall looked surprised, "O'k....." He muttered. She showed him the item and said, "Squall, honey.....i'm pregnant!!!" Squall looked really surprised, "Pre....pregnant....." He looked pale and woozy and then he fell uncounsious.

Short chapter but now we know that Rinoa is.......Pregnant!!!

 

Chapter 6 -Squall's Reaction:

Squall awoke to the sound of Rinoa's voice. He looked at her and said, "So your pregnant...as in pregnant with a baby?" She looked a little sad, "Are'nt you happy, Squall?" Squall quickly stood up and hugged her, "Ofcourse I'm happy, soon we'll have a little Squall or Rinoa, or mabey both." Rinoa smiled, she was so happy. She had always wanted to be a mother, she loved kids. Rinoa picked up the phone, she decided she would make the reunion a baby shower, "Squall, let's have a baby shower." Squall blushed, "A baby shower?" Rinoa nodded and said, "We can invite all of our friends, and have food and presents." Squall smiled, "Well I do like friends, food, and presents." Rinoa laughed.

She dialed Quists number, Quists picked up the phone and Rinoa said, "Quists, guess what?" Quists thought for a moment and answered, "Squall is excited about the reunion?" Rinoa shook her head, "No,....i'm pregnant!!!" Quists gasped and said, "Pregnant? So Squall finaly came through after 3 years? Congradulations, Rinoa." Rinoa smiled, "Thanks, tell everyone that the reunion will be a baby shower instead." Quists nodded and said, "O'k, no problem. Talk to ya later." They both hung up their phones. Quists sighed and said, "Now why can't I find a good man? I want a baby too."

Meanwhile in an Airship:

Ellone walked into Laguna's room and said, "When are we going to be in Balamb? I want to see Squall." Laguna laughed, "Hold your hoarses, squirt. We'll be in Balamb soon enough. Besides this is a surprise visit, those two love birds have no idea we're coming. So you'll be able to surprise them with that cute face of yours." He bent down and kissed her cheeks. Ellone smiled, "Daddy, you still treat me like a little girl, but that's o'k I still love you."

Things seem to be very peaceful these days, but how long can it last?

 

Chapter 7 - Setting a Date:

The airship landed just outside of Balamb, Laguna and Ellone got off the ship and entered the town. Laguna took in the fresh air, Balamb was always a very clean town. Ellone was looking at all the things in the shops, she picked out a necklace and Laguna gladly bought it for her. Then they headed to Squall's house. Laguna knocked twice and Rinoa answered the door, "Oh Laguna, Ellone nice to see you guys. Come in, we have something important to tell you." Laguna smiled, "Well I hope it's good news."Rinoa nodded, "It's the best news possible."

Squall waved at Laguna and said, "Hey, dad." Laguna smiled and said, "So what is this good news you and Rinoa have to tell me?" He asked. But before Squall could answer Ellone tackled Squall and hugged him, "Little brother, I missed you." She said. Squall hugged her back, "I missed you too, sis." He was blushing, she was older than him but she was as innocent as a kid. Rinoa then announced the big news, "Ellone your about to be an aunt and Laguna you will be a grandpa." Laguna passed out right then. Ellone smilled and hugged Rinoa, "Oh my gosh, I love babies. Squall, you naughty boy." Squall blushed even more.

Rinoa laughed and said, "Well Squall, you were a lion in bed." (Pun intended ) Squall blushed and said, "Let's just eat." When the smell of Lasagna filled the room Laguna awoke, "Dinner?" He mumbled. Ellone laughed and they all went into the kitchen to eat. They discussed the baby over dinner, "So have is it going to be a girl or a boy?" Laguna asked. Rinoa answered, "Not sure yet, it's too early to tell." Ellone then asked, "What will you name him or her?" Rinoa and Squall had discussed names only an hour before Laguna showed up. Squall answered, "Well if it's a boy we were thinking we would name him Leon. If it's girl, we were thinking of naming her Raine." Laguna stopped eating and said, "Your mother would like that."

Rinoa stood up and said, "Excuse me, I need to tell Quists the date of the shower." She walked into the living room and called Quists, "Quists, tell everyone the baby shower will be on May the 22nd. I got reservations at a private park that day." Quists then called everyone and informed them of the date of the shower.

Well we now know what the names of the baby might be. If it's boy it will be Leon, if it's a girl it will be Raine. In the next chapter we will skip ahead to the shower. Chapter 8 will be about the shower, but chapter 9 will be very important to the story.
