Shout box...

I think it's a great idea personally. I have made forums myself and I always have a c-box. It's a quick way to talk to poeple. sure it can be jumbled at times but the concept is efficient.

 

I'm not sure about this & I actually don't like this idea. Sorry.

 

I hate forums with shoutboxes. It's so annoying the space it takes up.

People just login to be idiots and try to prove their 'coolness' among other members of the site majority of the time.

It is a waste of time and space. Get your friends emails and talk to them on MSN if you really must chat with them every 2 seconds. That's what MSN is there for.

A shoutbox is not a good idea, we can do many things with this site, and if we were to put a shoutbox on, it would take up to much bandwidth crap thingy-mijiggy.

In a nutshell, we don't have many members, especially as some important people are leaving meaning that the site's going to be that little bit harder to organise, it would bring too many spammers to the site.

And by the way, no matter how many people agree with you, it won't happen as TD and other admins have dealt with this suggestion a million times.

 

I think it would be good to think about, but I don't know.

 

It's a good thing and a bad thing.

It's a good thing because sometimes msn won't work, or we don't want to waste time to log in to just say one thing to someone quickly then wait for a PM reply. Sometimes people can't even have msn because parents won't allow them.

It be a good thing for me right now because the new msn 8 doesn't work to well on windows vista, and currently my msn isn't working because I updated it to msn 8. So it be good for that much.

Yes the thing is spam, but if we have good moderato wodding it, it should be fine, I know someone who belongs to a forum for music with a chat room at the top and with her at the library we went there. They have mods for it, they weren't that all good, but it worked.

It be a bad thing for multiple reasons. Alot of people's parents mod sites, and if their's parents out their like my mom (who doesn't patrol things- my mom) might not let their kids join a site with a chat room or something. Plus that brings more online predators, meaning we'll need real mature, smart, and super good moderators, plus some older ones so online predators have a reason to fear, mods like Raiden or TD's age or can act that age. So it's hard to watch people.

So it's a good thing and bad thing.

Well not really, I know a bunch of sites that have a Shout Box and people do post on the threads way more than the boxes.

 

I like the chat box idea. But, it might be spam. Cause in some forums I went to, people advertise their website in the chat box.
