    but in fact, they have forgotten all about sora and the gang for quite a long time.
    just.. why is that? is it because of the accident in COM? you know, when Namine playing with the memories of sora?
    what do you think?:)

    They Forgot temporarily yes but somehow remembered each other in the end.
    COM did play around this quote but it all fixed itself up in KH2.

    Well you already had the answer :p, Basically Naimine Played around with sora's memories, making everyone forget about him, when she put sora asleep for that year, people forgot about him, because namine had to carefully put them in order, and while she was doing this, his friends and anyone who knew him, started to slowly but surely remember him

    It's so that he can restore his memories, the further up he went, the more he forgot, so he had to go to sleep to remember. Which is funny, I tend to forget things when I sleep.

    It has something to do with Namine. Exactly. She was force to take away the memories of Sora & it had affected those who he knows. She even made some of the memories fakes. After all of that was over, she must put him to sleep so she can restore his memories, which in turn, affected everyone else.
