Best way of taking care of your discs?

In my collection of games, I keep them in the box they come with. Although some people prefer to buy one of those disc storage case things.
All my games work fine (at least the ones that have not been touched by my room mate, he leaves them OUT of the box and sitting on the table waiting to be used as a coaster) and I don't use a disc case thing for them but the box itself.
Some people say the cases are better for the discs. I refuse to use them as I have a weird feeling about sliding them on the soft cotton each time you pull one out or slide one in.

So my question is, is it better for the discs to be in the box they come with or is it better to have them in one of those cases?

Actually, i prefer to use cases. Because it was more neat and simple to pick. Rather than with box coz they could gone easily. Which sometimes stressed me out.

Although it seems you have bad feelings about that (Which sometimes i had), its fine because the soft cotton didn't make a scratch into the disc.

Or if you seems to dislike it, use this

That looks pretty neat. I know my friend has one of those and I ranted on about how it looked pretty bad since the discs that it was holding were actually wobbling and spinning thus scratching it.
Maybe he had a bad one, If I find one that guarantees no scratches, then I probably would get it.
I like the PS2 boxes since the disc is off the ground and not touching and does not spin.

And about the bad feeling, It's just that I have a principle of not touching the bottom of the disc. Period.

I voted for buying a case to put it in, though I also leave it in the original box sometimes

It's just that most of our PS1 cases either broke, or we lost them along the way so it's easier to protect them and easier to find (all in the one case, if we loose that we loose all our ps1 games o_O ) but all our ps2 and 360 games are in the original cases.

so original box unless the case is broken

I'm both, I keep them in the box then I have these smaller storage bins meant for CD's with lids and I have the labels sticking out. I keep like my gamecube and PS2 games containers in the closet and the wii is downstairs with the DVD's. It can be a pain now and then, but it's a system that works.

I honestly don't think it matters too much. I've never had a problem using a disc that was in some case with the soft cotton. But I do tend to keep my games in their original cases, and hide those from my little stepbrother.

i'm actually the worst with discs. I often keep them in the original box they came in, or i leave the randomly out (really bad habit, they can easy get dusty and scratches i know)

XD I have a few discs laying around by the T.V. Not only that, sometimes, I be having one of my game discs in a different game case & it's not fun when you be lazy to put it back in it's own case.

I always leave my games in the original bix that they come in... I couldn't possibly leave them all in one case thing I'd be scared if any of them got scratched or possibly would break somehow O.O... I just think that they're quite safe in their original box... And don't you dislike it when one of your original boxes get cracked somehow, I always fear for the poor game inside... I treat it like how a surgeon treats their patients, I wouldn't want anything to happen to the game ;]... I know I'm a little crazy when it comes to the boxes because I just wouldn't want anything to happen to the game... I remember one time I left Kingdom Hearts in the Plastation 2 that my brother and I used to both share, wasn't a good idea, he ended up taking it out and leaving it on the desk where Bubbles (My cat :3) stepped on it!! =[.. The poor thing didn't have a chance so now I make sure to always leave them in their boxes and to take good care of my games =]

I prefer to leave them in the both they came in, but I can see why people would put them in a carrying case. a carrying case would make it easier to bring your games to your friends, realtives, and any other places, instead of walking around with like 15 game cases. I use a case for all my movies, because then where ever I go, I have a hundred movies to chose from!
