Anyone got a neat strategy against Sephiroth, like equipment level and abilities?

Must be level 99 give or take a few
Must have Megaelixirs in every slot
Must have all MP rages and hastes equipped
    Constantly cast Aero
    Must have Ultimate Keyblade
This is my recommended strategy although you can get lucky and beat him around level 70. (I've never done that though)
You can't really avoid a lot of his attacks so I don't have a strategy other than hack and slash.

70 is an ok level if you have Ultima Weapon. If not id say 80ish using a keyblade with a good balance between physical and magical stats. Elixers in every slot is fine since megalixer is no better, sora is your only party member after all. Until you start getting his health down enough to get him into "mode 2" you should be spamming strike raid until you have 1 to 2 MP bars left, and then save them for healing until they recover. Sephiroth is actually really predictable for a while, and once you learn his patterns is easy to dodge and get a few hits in. If he starts using Sin Angel, if you can hit him before the spell appears around Sora you are safe, if not then have your item window open so you can throw an elixer the moment the spell hits, because he will attack you quickly afterwards. Once you get to mode 2 he attacks much faster and uses combos instead of one hit, so you need to be able to guard quickly and read his moves. Mode 3 he will use meteor, and attack just like mode 2 other than that, so keep strike raid ready, and if you can read his swings move in for the attack and eventually he will go down.

Actually, you don't need any of that stuff, it's just advised (Except level. If you're at level 99, Sephiroth will be too easy. Around the 80's is the preffered level to beat him and still have a challenge, but still have a good chance). Heck, if you're skilled enough, you can beat Sephiroth with the Kingdom Key and a much lower level. It's hard as hell, but possible.

I gotta say that Ultima Weapon helps alot. Elixirs help, but aren't needed (I've never used them against him). Aero also helps. Dodge roll is great, along with Super Glide. Hit him when he rises into the air and turns pink. And make sure you have the Second Chance ability equipped. If you don't, when he does the attack where he turns pink you'll die. When you've got about 50% of your health left, use Curaga. Don't let your health get lower. Ethers help alot because of Sephiroth's attack (Where he turns pink) will also get rid of all your magic.

What I always try to do is equip ultima weapon equip Mp Rage/Haste, put curaga on shortcut use crystal crown, raven claw and another item I don't remember, during the strategy I like to jump towards him and perform a slash that is quite effective, during phase two I attack him before he can completely perform sin harvest, but when he comes rushing at me with his slashing barrage, I lose

If you dodge roll continually away from him and around the outside of the arena he will usually either miss completely or only hit with a few strikes.

Use all of Morrosseth's ideas and use airial attacks.

I was at level 100 in kingdom hearts 1 and level 99 in kingdom hearts 2 and I had ultimate weapon on both battles but on the 2nd kingdom hearts I was using my final form.

Too be honest you only need to be lvl 45 or above to beat him.He is much harder in II,in I he isnt as hard.Dodge roll is a good idea, dont need guard.Super Glide is not needed, but helps alot, makes getting to him before his Heartless Angel attack much easier.Strike Raid is a great ability, not only does it give you a good ranged attack,it also makes you invincible for the duration,so on things you dont think you can dodge, pull that out and hit him.Helps with Heartless Angel as well if you are close enough, can hit him without needing to get real close to him.Any ability that can get you MP back faster is a must, though the ones that give you more combos are not.You need atleast Lionheart for him (Or is it sleeping lion in this game?I cant remember which chain is Squall's in this one.)KEEP MOVING!Aeroga is a good idea, shortcut it.Aeroro will also work, but Aeroga will slightly hurt him as well as giving a stronger defense. You do not need only Megalixers,Elixers work just as well, though I recomneded short cutting them as well, both if you have them but not enough for all your slots with just one of them.If you can in this one, again, have not played in a while.Second Chance is a must, almost no way you can win without it.Strike Raid really helps with his Dark Omnislash (The one where he is in the air slashing everywhere.)He does not get damaged, but if you can hold it long enough, neither will you.

You don`t NEED to be in a high level and have ultimate weapons or what so ever, but they do help. I think he was pretty easy in KH I, but tough in KH II. In the first KH I wasn`t on a very high level and didn`t have any super weapon or anything, just whacked x-button as hard as I could..

Actually Sephy is harder to beat in KHI, since I tried to beat him zillion times in the first game but got through Sephy after only couple of times. :I

Oh, so which fight that Sephirot-battle is? Where and when? Starts to seem we`re not talking about the same one. I may remember some names wrong, so...?

I think we're talking about the same thing, since what I know there's only two Sephy battles which I mentioned, KHI in the coliseum, and the ohter one, KHII in the... you know. But anyway, since the commands were sloppier than in KHII and so on.

I still say that it was harder in KH1. KH2 was easy.

Eh,it is probably perspective for everyone. To me Seph was easier in KH then KHII,but for others like Noz the opposite is true.If you ask me Seph can still be beat in the lvl 40s for KH,but in KHII I had to level to the 60s.The first time I beat him was right after going lvl 60 actually.

Ummm... now that I think of it I'd say that both sephiroth from KH and KHII are hard, but some of them got a certain attack that screw you up good, In KH sephiroth slash barrage often kills me, and in KHII, his attack where there is the reaction command "block" I miss it often and screw up :(

run and hide lol just kidding to deal with him you have to attack from outside to in run round and dodge roll a lot to get behind him then stick that keyblade up his backside

    Actually yes!

Well, what I did when I beat him was i fought him at level 80 (I got a lot of experience by beating the Ice Titan) and I had some Elixirs and a couple of Megalixirs on hand in case he ACTUALLY got off the "Sin Heartless Angel" attack! As for the Keyblade that you actually need, you can use Lionheart or Oathkeeper for the MP bonus and high attack, Oblivion for its high attack and ability to counterattack Sephiroth's sword attacks, or even Ultima Weapon since it IS the best weapon in the game. But what I ask is this; do you have KH1 or the Final Mix Version of it? If it's the latter, then I would probably use any of the ones I just mentioned before OR Diamond Dust. Also, it's a good idea to have "Second Chance" and "Once More" equipped because if you don't have them... the Sin Heartless Angel WILL kill you in one hit!! But as for the actual level, I'd say 50-60 for a challenge 70-100 for an easier battle. Hope this helps!

    regards,

You just need to be quick because he moves around fast and he flys and shoots stuff at you I freaken hate it. I like the sword though I wish you can get it in kingdom hearts.
