Daneil turned around and faced Jason. "Jason....." He then let out a maniacal laugh. Hes letting the other him take over." "You want to take me on?" "Hahahahahaha!" He then sighed and said "Ok then." "Bring it." He then got into a fighting stance and said "Bring it,....Baka!"

*Baka means fool in japanese*

 

Daniel let out a maniacal laugh and said "THats simple." "I just knocked her out." "She is ok, but its also a good thing that shes in a hospital!" He then kicked Jason in the face and started slowly getting up. He then grabbed Jason by the collar and said "Heh." "WHat a fool." "YOu don't deserve to be in the darkness." "You deserve to be in the underworld!" He then threw Jason to farest wall.

 

Lily groaned and rolled flat onto her back. "What just happened?" She opened her eyes and realised that Daniel was gone. 'No! Did he just...? No! He couldn't have!' She glanced up again at the clock. "11:30? I've been out cold for 45 minutes? Man I'm pathetic!" She looked around , both Jason and Daniel were gone. "Did he? Is he gonna actually go to them?." She held her stomach and jumped up and ran out the door. "Where are those bloody Vatican guys? I thought they were meant to keep and eye on us!" Lily swirled around and ran down the stairs into the Lobby. As she gasped for air she noticed Jason lying on the ground breathing heavily. She ran towards him and helped him up. "Jason! Where's Danny? What happened?"

Danieel looked at the men from the vatiacan and said "I need power......to protect....." He then knocked the guys out and looked at Lily and Jason. He looked at them deeply and said "Forgive me but..... don't find me." "No matter what..... don't find me!" He then turned his back on them and started running outside. As he kept running, tears streamed down his face. Then the voice appeared. "Bonds never fade away....... they are only forgotten."

 

Lily saw Daniel running into the distance. She jumped up and ran toward the exit to try and follow him when she felt someone grab her arm from behind her. It was one of the Vatican guards. "Hey what the hell? Let me go! I gotta follow him! I gotta bring him back before he gets himself killed!" Lily tried to loosen the guards grip on her arm but he simply pulled her back even further. "LET ME GO!!" she screamed and tried to pull her arm away, tears were streaming down her face but the guard didn't seem to flinch. "You stay with Jason and return to the room immediatly! We'll take care of the rest!" Lily sighed and decided to just give up. She stopped pulling and the guard slowly released her arm, she dropped to her knees and started crying. "Daniel.....why?"

 

When it was 11:50, Daniel was being chased by the two guards. He looked back at them and said "Leave me alone!" The two guards groaned and said "No!" "You're coming with us Daneil!" Daniel groaned and said "Idiots." He then kept on running. One of the guards then said "Why are you seeking out power?!" Daniel looked back at them and said "Shut up...... just shut up!" He then started running again. He was going really fast this time. As he kept running, he lost the two guards in a dark alleyway. He grinned and said "Heh." "Too easy."

When the clock hit 12:00 at midnight, the mansion had a knock on its door. The man in the overcoat opened the door and saw Daniel standing there, as it started raining. "So you did it huh?" "Are they still your friends?" Daniel looked at him and said "No." "I don't have friends." He then walked into the door.

Lily looked up at Jason who had tears pouring down his face. She wiped the tears away with her sleeve then glanced back towards the exit. “I don’t know…he must’ve felt weak and helpless about what happened to you…He was upset that he couldn’t defend us…but why is he going to them for power? They’re the ones that tried to hurt us!” She clenched her fist. “What the hell is he thinking?!? The idiot! He’s gonna get himself killed!” Lily breathed deeply and tried to calm herself down. She looked up and noticed a trail of blood on Jason’s cheek. “Your head’s bleeding! Come on! We better get back to the room. While we’re waiting for those Vatican guys to catch Daniel I’ll clean this up for you.” She held Jason’s hand and slowly led him back up the stairs and through the corridor back into his room. She sat him on the bed and pulled out the first aid kit from the bed-side drawer. She pulled out cotton wool buds and a small bottle of disinfectant and slowly started wiping the blood off his face before disinfecting the cut on his forehead.

 

The man in the overcoat smiled and said "Good." "You have done well in choosing us." "By the way, my name.... is Strife." Daniel turned to him and said "Strife?" "Why are you named that?" He chuckled and said "Its because I caused my mother a lot of strife." "Thats why." Daniel looked at him with caution and said "Ok, Strife."

 

Lily sighed deeply. “Don’t worry; I’m sure it’s just like a temporary insanity thing. He’ll come around…soon enough.” When she finished cleaning up Jason’s wound she put the First aid kit away and sat down next to him. She looked out the window and noticed the sun rising slowly. “They better have caught up with him…if he goes to them then…God knows what’ll happen.” She stood up and walked to the window. The sun was now a bright ball of light in the sky which casted shadows of the nearby trees on the wall. She shaded her eyes from the light and shook her head. “I don’t understand why I’m acting so calm about this when deep down….I’m terrified. If he does….join them then…what do you think they’d make him do? I mean look what they did to you! I seriously don’t want to think about the type of stuff they might make him do!” She turned to face Jason before continuing. “And I wonder…if they gave orders to do something like…kill us…would he do it? ‘coz right now I’m not sure what to think.”

 

Strife laughed and said "Come on my young friend." "We have a empty room set up for you down in the basement." "I thought the darkness would accompany you very well." Daniel looked at him coldly and said "Whatever." He then started walking with Strife down to the basement. Once they got to a metal black vault door, Strife turned the hatch and opened it for Daniel. Daniel looked inside and saw that the room was painted red with a black floor. Daniel looked at him and said "Why is the room like that?" Strife looked at him and said "Its because is supposed to represent your aura." "Thats why its like that."

 

Lily shook her head and looked out the window again. “Daniel, please do the right thing. Come back to us…” She whispered under her breath before glancing back at the guard. “Okay fine! Two hours and then we leave….now you can go and do your bloody job properly this time and guard us like you’re supposed to do before!!!” Lily was practically screaming at the guard now. He sighed and apologized again before leaving her and Jason alone again.
