Which Riku battle was hardest?

Riku appeared throughout the game, you had atleast 3 chances or more to face him.

Once at the beginning, on the Island. Where he was an optional 'boss', with some quite strong attacks & counter attacks, it was a challenge to me as you have to fight him without any real abilities or health. You can face him limitless times, & each time you win you get a potion.
I lost quite alot of times to him until i worked out how to dodge most of his attacks.

The next time you face him (I don't think you face him before) is in Hollow Bastion, when you first step into the castle. He does some pretty basic attacks at the beginning, but they do some big damage if your under leveled.
I was quite under leveled when i came to him, so i had to change my tactics to more defensive then offensive.

Next you face him again on Hollow Bastion, in the hall of the princesses. I'm sure most people know that cutscene off by heart, because of the amount of time you'll spend doing this fight. He has a variation of attacks that can take down your health very quickly. When you get him down to his last bar of health he'll start doing his Ragnarok attack, which is where i lost a couple of times.

I actually found the first 'fight' with Riku the most challenging because of the lack of abilities. I must of done it altleast 20 times.

But i was just wondering what you thought?
Write which fight you found hardest & roughly how many times you fought them, plus anything extra you want to add.

Without a doubt, the last one

The first battle (if you call playfighting with wooden swords a battle) took me 2 tries to defeat him, I thought the race was harder
The second, erm.. I can't remember much about that one, I don't think it took me many tries though...
The third battle, took me about 8568372436 tries -.- (Whereas I defeated maleficent first time round)

I just beat the second one last night. It was the first time and he was the reason I quite the game. So im really exited i almost beat the game!

So ya last try was the hardest by far!

What made him so hard for you?
The reason i found him a little easier then the first Riku 'Fight' was because i was able to defend &(or) Avoid his attacks pretty easily after practice.

The biggest reason i dreaded going against Riku for the last time was because of having to go through the same cutscence over & over again.

I quite because I got sick of watching the cutscene. I just felt like I couldn't attack enoughin the end of the battle because he was sooo hard to hit.

The last one was the hardest by far.The Dark Aura attack (was it called that for KH 1,or only for CoM?) always gave me trouble, but eventually I was able to avoid most,if not all, of the attack.

The first fight was tough when I first got the game, but after beating the game it became easier. That fight is great for challenging new players, but isnt to hard once you have fought through the game.

The second fight isnt that hard. Then again, its three vs one.

Hands down, the last one. It took me some 7 odd hours (not all in one sitting, though >_<) to finally beat that fight. I think I was able to beat all four of the optional bosses in the same amount of time. So yes, somehow, Riku was harder than Sephiroth. o_O

Seriously, I don't even know what the problem was, except that I was a complete retard. I'd get him down to less than one health bar, over and over, and then he'd spam that Dark Aura (I guess it's called) attack and kill me, every time. On later playthroughs, he still kicks my ass, but not nearly to that degree.

In comparison, both of those other fights were easy.

Amazingly, the last Riku fight was pretty easy. I beat him in one try with Kingdom Key.

    Second was the easiest.

But the first one was the hardest. :/ I couldn't dodge or block attacks and I always kept on falling for that kick he does. The score, before the race to the paopu tree and back (which I also lost), was 1 to 11 favoring Riku.

The same happened to me, whenever i got him down to his last bar i'd get cocky and just try to attack & finish him off quickly, but that always resulted in me dying from his Dark Aura/Ragnarok attack because i wasn't prepared with Aero or atleast full health.

But yeah, i had more failed attempts at this Riku then any other boss (Embarrisingly). I just couldn't get away from his counter attack once you hit him on the floor.

First Riku fight, I found a pattern. Each time you hit him 4 times, he will fall and do that kick counter thing (so 3 hit combo> Run from his attack> hit once more and run away to avoid his counter>Repeat). Not sure if that's statistically true or just coincidence, but it worked for me. I ended up beating him 100 times hoping for something special (I did the same for the race this as well =[), in the end just 4 hours of near wasted play through and obtaining 99 potions.

Second Riku fight was well easy. I'm not sure if it's because I was on a higher level or because I had party members, but it's debatable to figure which one was easier between the first and second one because of that ^^

Last Riku was pretty hardcore. First time play through was easy enough on normal mode and on a high level. On a low level and on Proud mode, this was a quite a challenge. I never really figured out how to successfully 100% all the time dodge his last resort attack. And not all keyblades were able to successfully block and counter. Some just had Sora block and hopelessly flail around a bit. In the end it took me a few hours and when I finally did it, I was cocky, didn't save and died against the next Defender I saw =\

    Thats rough Lib,damn Defender!

Yea,what you said bout the first fight is true.Probably what makes it easier later is that you notice that.It is possible to get in five hits, just got to be fast on the dodge.

I dont remember all the keyblades I have used against the third one, though I know I beat him with the Kingdom Key.That one was fun, though more just the idea of beating him with it.

Hands down the 2nd time you fight Riku at HB was the hardest? Why because Dark Aura kicked my ass every 2 seconds. It was just ridiculous, he was the only boss besides Sephy that took me a while to beat. I think an hour or so.. :(

For dodging Dark Aura, I always found it best to jump and glide around. Then spam Dodge Roll right before he does the finishing part. And also, I absolutely never use Guard. The only kind of blocking I do in that fight is when Riku and I attack at the same time and our attacks block eachother.

The first few times I beat him, I used Olympia. The most recent time I used Lady Luck, since it was similar but had longer reach.

Honestly I found the Destiny Island boss the hardest :p
It was most likely because I was new to the game and everything but the other Riku bosses were fairly easy for me compared to this one.

Oh my God! The first one!

I fell off the little island and was furious when I saw that I automatically lost because of it!
