Oh god yes it is. As much fun as the first one was, the second is even better. There are more boss fights, all just as intuitive as the Hydra and Minotaur fights in the original. And plenty of excellent new game mechanics like the Iccarus Wings and the Golden Fleece. The Golden Fleece is my personal favorite, cause it let's you repel projectile attacks with well timed blocks. Or you can absorb the force of a melee attack and release it in an area attack burst. Such a useful ability.

So the answer is yes, this game is definitely well worth getting.

    Well...

The game is great, probably it has almost the same graphics as a PS3 game, the second one was good, I mean, the bosses and the story were more interesting, I am looking forward to buy the PSP game, which explains the past of Kratos, when he served Ares, killing all those people, and of course, the third game which will come next year, anyway, I reccomend the game, however, I think the first one was a little bit better.

Sort of. There is a similar weapon you receive for a short time at the very beginning and end of the game. But there are other weapons. You'll get the Barbarian's Hammer and the Spear of Destiny.

Many of the spells are very useful as well. The Cronos and Atlas spells in particular I found very helpful.

I think that was it, yes. I couldn't remember exactly what it was called. I kept wanting to say the Blade of the Gods, but that's the sword at Athens from the end of the first game.

    Ahhh!

Yes, is the blade of Zeus, the one that actually got all Kratos's powers at the start of the game.

It's awesome. And many of the puzzles are even more ingenious then the ones in the original were, and that's saying a lot. There's stuff you see early in the game that you can't figure out how to access, only to come full circle later with new powers and find it easy. Lot's of things like the Crystal Eye chamber and the three rings in the first game, where the process is drawn out and you only get the pieces a little bit at a time.
