Nightmare Before Halloween

    Nightmare Before
    Halloween


    Every holiday has a special leader. That special leader leads the town of their holiday through the preparations of their holiday. A holiday leader must always be around for the holiday to happen or tragedy will occur threatening the holiday town and world.


    There's 31 days till Halloween and Jack Skellington has gone missing. Rumors of the return of Oogie Boogie also have surfaced and some strange creatures have been seen around town. It's up to some Halloween Town residences to find out where Jack is before it's too late.

    A young lady sat upon a twisted hill, a gold dagger in one hand a medium sized pumpkin in the other. She gripped the dagger tighter as she stabbed the pumpkin and began carving a face in the pumpkin. Once done with that pumpkin she stood up and walked over to a pule of other carved pumpkins sat.

    She looked up to see a figure bouncing around enter the pumpkin patch area. She smiled and waved over to him. The figure was dressed in ratty clothes and had straw sticking out everywhere, the only thing off was his head was a skull.

    "Hello, Jade, how are you doing?" The person asked. The girl dust off her dress and straightened the witch hat.

    "I'm pretty good, how about you? Are you here for the pumpkin head, Jack?" The girl, Jade, asked. The person, Jack nodded. "Very well, I carved it with much care, I think it's better than last year." The girl walked back over to where she was sitting picking up a pumpkin with an almost evil grin carved into the face.

    "It's perfect!" Jack smiled wide taking the pumpkin and holding it up to look it over. "Thank you so much!" He exclaimed. Jade nodded her head smiling.

    "I'm glad to have helped." Jade told him. "You heading down to the creak path already?" She asked.

    "Yep, the ceremony starts in an hour you know." Jack told her.

    "Oh! I must have lost track of time. Alright you becareful going down there, I got to go deliver these pumpkins." Jade stated. Jack laughed slightly.

    "You better becareful being in a rush, I will see you later." Jack said before putting the pumpkin head overtop of his own head and he waved goodbye before walking off.

    Jade waved and turned to the pile of carved pumpkins before beginning to load the pumpkins into the cart.​

    "Good-bettah-best, nevah-let it rest!"

    A cackle echoed through that empty yard that surrounded the twisted hill. But Jade would already know to whom it belonged, for it was none other than her. . . associate (for lack of a better word), Kilet. If anything, he was preparing to pop up and scare the everloving hell out of-

    "HELLO!" The Carver giggled, popping up beside Jade next to the wagon. He was brandishing his wicked knife as per the norm of his antics, continuing "You need to do it like THIS! A pumpkin isn't a pumpkin until it's a pumpkin!"
    His knife immediately went for one of the gourds that Jade was holding, making notches into the current eyes and mouth until it bore a more intricate grimace.

    "Like THAT!" He declared, flicking a spare piece of the innards into his mouth.

    Sightis looked around. No one was there. "Ooh hoo hoo!" he giggled to himself, noticing the absence. He popped away from the shadows, and into the town. he scared a strange looking ghoul and flew away to find more victims. noticing jade and the strange man, he turned into pumpkin form, and landed in the pile of already carved pumpkins, watching intently.

    "Almost done," Ezra mumbled to herself, she was decorating one of the buildings in Halloweentown just like she did everday. "And there," She put a pumpkin that Jade carved on the steps and she was done. That was the last for today so she decided she would go take a walk.

    Arlette sat on the side of a fountain in the town, sketching out her new design. It was for a little girl who wanted to be a lion this Halloween. She continued sketching and when she finally looked up, she some people out on the hill. What are they doing out there this late? she thought to herself and stood up and began walking towards them.

    As she walked up to them she realized it was Jade and some others that she recognized but didn't know there names. "Jade, there you are!" She said "Did you give the pumpkin to Jack yet?"

    A boy stood in an empty field in view of the twisted hill, a massive sword stuck in the ground in front of him, aged and bloodstained. As he started to hear the commotion behind him he knew the ceremony was getting everyone on their pre-show jitters. He had already set everything up but it was not how well he had done the job that was bothering him, but the job itself. Noone his age had ever had to start dicing up bodies for a job. He had been pulled into it though, how could he have refused Jack? Jack was the whole reason he went from outcast to normal. Well... almost normal. The only one that saw him as normal was the other human Jack had brought back, Jade.

    "Well thanks for the help, Kilet." Jade spoke sarcasticly rolling her eyes and grinning before smiling at the fellow pumpkin carver. She turned her head to see Ezra.

    "Hi, Ezra. Yep, he headed down to get ready for the official countdown ceremony." Jade explained. "In fact, I think we should probably all head into town." She stated. "That includes you, too, Sightis." Jade said before whistling and a bunch of ghost horses ran up and she strapped them to the cart to take it into town.




    A young boy wearing a skelleton mask and wearing a cloak. He sat up on top of a giant decapitator a bunch of kids at the bottom staring up at him.

    "How did he even get up ther?!" A girl exclaimed.

    "You're going to fall!" Another girl shouted.

    "All will you all shut up, I'm waiting for my sister." The boy shouted down to them all.

    "Hey Arthur, you better get down from there." A man with a double face came running up, when he came running up all the kids quickly ran off.

    "Oh, but Mr. Mayor, I'm alright, there's a big space up here." The boy, Arthur, said before laying down.

    Arlette and Ezra stared at the boy in shock, to Arlette he looked strangely familiar but she couldn't tell because he was too far away. "are you trying to get yourself killed, kid?!" Arlette yelled. Ezra was worried, but she knew the kid wasn't going to do anything stupid.

    Will grabbed his sword from the dirt and flipped it up into a harness on his back. As he headed into town he noticed a boy on a guillotine. He strode towards the guillotine and didn't say a word, just eyed the child as he looked to Jade. "How long has he been up there?" He asked his friend, shifting his shoulders to balance the weight of the large sword on his back. He then looked back to the guillotine, wondering how the child had gotten up there.

    Sightis looked around at all the people who had gathered. "Forget the money." he said. He flew around, taking advantage of the situation to scare everyone or thing who were there. He laughed, before flying up next to the boy and asking: "Hey kid, are you TRYING to get yourself killed?!"

    Jade turned to Will and shook her head completely unsure.

    "Why should I get down, there's such a great view from here!" Arthur crossed his hands when suddenly the town echoed out in a witch laughter and the ringing of the town bell. Arthur looked up seeing the witches flying around the sky.

    Jade looked all around when enertainment began to march around town singing the theme of the holiday. It was like the fact Arthur was up high was forgotten.

    The minute the song was over many people rushed over to the fountain to wait for Jack to rise out of it.

    "I see him!" Somebody shouted out when everybody backed away. The water began to bubble and smoke as the costume Jack had on burned away to reveal his true self, however that's not what happened.

    The costume burned away, however Jack didn't come from within it.

    "Where is he?!" The mayor shouted. Jade turned her head to Sally who looked fear stricken.

    "Something's not right..." She said before turning around and running out of town. Jade looked at Will before running after her.

    Will nodded at her, following past the fountain and towards the edge of the town, massive sword clingking lightly on his back as he rushed past the gate and caught up to Jade. "I've never seen anything like this before, any ideas?" He asked Jade, eyes showing the true panic coursing through his thoughts. As he saw Sally stop he slowed and drew his sword out of habit, readying himself for anything that may come towards them.
