Halloween Bash 2011

Sorry I haven't been able to start this myself. I was hoping a few more people would be up for it. And grok waiting i got a bit bogged by other things, mostly in real life. Thanks Summoner, for taking care of this.

In the interest of time though, let's have two threads running so both battles can be fought at once. And I'd say a two week timeframe for completion should be fair; maybe a bit more to accommodate the three way.

 

I did say that it was going to be a time limit, not a post limit.

 

I would say between 2 & 3 weeks. I know that it brings us way passed Halloween. But it will ensure that things are kept in motion, regardless of who's taking forever to post and whatnot.

As for the judging criteria, I was thinking something that covers a few "broader" captions, so to speak, on which the RPers in each battle are judged. Those captions would be as follows:

Writing -
How well you wrote. Pretty much takes into account things such as spelling, grammar, and the overall fluidity of the posting. Writing is a big part of this manner of RPing, and will be taken into account. Not necessarily a docking of points for mistakes, but just a general scoring reflective of how solid the person's writing was.

Role Playing -
The proficiency and effectiveness with which the RPer(s) played their characters. Were their personalities dead on and clear through posting? Were their actions and such in line with who they are?

Battling -
Being that these are battles in a tournament, people will be evaluated in terms of their combative abilities as well. The creativity and practicality (relative to their situations) of their use of abilities will be calculated. And of course, this will also consider how realistically they took damage.

Scare Score -
It's a Halloween Celebration. So things should be scarey and on edge. This would be a score your holiday spirit and your ability to leave a frightening vibe in the air with the captions above. I suppose you could call this the "overall effect" caption.

All of these would be worth 25 points total for each and added together for a subtotal. Penalties would be given AFTER the scores have been added together, if necessary, to arrive at the total score. Penalties would be given on the basis of rule breaking, deviation from a character's limitations, and just plain being a jerk.

Being that there are two judges, I've decided that the total scores (all captions added and penalties calculated) given by both of us will simply be averaged.
