Crystal Heart

You misspelled hide. You said hid instead of hide. Otherwise, good poetry.

 

I can actually understand this poetry from a Spiritual point of view; XD But my observation of the poem may be different from Mrs. Gods_Princess since she is the one who wrote it.:

Since the heart is precious like a gem (crystal), it needs special care. It is like a young child or a doe, a special talent or a person who will do great in life. However, a lot of people in the world overlook this and end up messing up the foundation that carries in itself so much power to change anything. It is once we end up messing up that we end up feeling real bad and so we try so much to do anything to cover it up or put a shield up when "We never look up to the Cross" (In other words, Jesus Christ I am assuming). The Lord will then come in when we almost lost all hope and he heals what was lost and broken, becoming better than what it was before.

To me, I thought that what was more important was the foundation, the heart because that is what holds the special power that MUST be taken care of until the time is right to use it.
