Hi there, people of KH Planet. I was wondering if anybody else got the symbolism within Xion putting shells on Roxas' bed.
In my opinion, and my memory is a little spotty from when i last played 358/2, I think they kinda represented Xion and Roxas, considering they're empty shells. Um, any other interpretations? And was I even supposed to interpret it in the first place, or did they go right out and say what they meant (I forget :( )

Yeah you´re right.. they are both nobodies...empty with no heart (or so they say)
But it also refers to Kairi and Sora (Kairi collects them too, those seashells)

It definitely refers to Sora and Kairi, but the empty shells anthology is quite interesting.

I agree with the shell/nobody theory.

I don't Square intended it, but you are correct, it does play a pretty cool symbolism.

In my opinion Xion being a part of Sora and all, it plays a part in Kairi and Sora(Xion and Roxas almost being them before Namine came in).

Then finally ultimately, as boring as this is, I think it was just a typical beach thing because you know you go to the beach on vacation you collect sea shells. I think Xion on her mission traveling she decided to just you know grab a random souvenir and it ended up being sea shells.

I also noticed some interesting symbolism in that game. The biggest thing that I see (after playing Birth by Sleep) is in the clothes roxas and ventus wear. The checkered pattern is largely symbolic of the split-up of Ven who is light, and Vanitas who is pure darkness.

Yeah...and this symbolism isnt seen in kh days if im right but you see often someone reaching you out a hand...
    Just like Riku always did.

It's true that that does appear a lot. But what does it mean? Well, I suppose the moral of KH is to cling onto friends. Maybe that's what Riku reaching out meant?

They need a scene where Riku reaches out and Kairi grabs his hand, Fudge Sora.

That's very interesting because a definite theme in Square titles is trust

Their new game, Imaginary Range, is also centred around trust.

So does The World Ends With You. A lot. I wish they would make a sequel

Eh, I think the shells were symbolic on a few levels. But, I don't think it was Square's outwards intentions. Thomas C. Foster (one of the nation's leading English professors) said that all writers (script writers included) instinctively seek to symbolize and make allusions without really planning to do it.
