All right, the Final Fantasy section could use more active threads, so here's another one that interests me. (Nothing beats a ranting thread, but I must make do with what I can  )

What are your thoughts on the ending of Final Fantasy X ? How emotional was it for you ? And yes, if you didn't beat the game there probably will be spoilers in this thread. You've been warned.

    -----------

Now, the ending of Final Fantasy X was, infact, sad for me. Sure, Tidus and I had our ups and downs throughout the game, but it was still hard to see him sacrifice himself for Yuna. I think I mainly felt bad for Yuna though because it was clearly obvious that she liked him (what with that kissing scene in the Macalania woods; Atleast I think it happened there.) Not to mention, FF X-2 came out of all this.

So yeah, it was hard to watch it happen. I didn't burst out and cry, using all the kleenex in the vicinity ect... However, it still tugged at my heart and I had an "Awh, poor Yuna" moment.

Doesn't mean much at all, considering he can come back in X-2. I wanted him to stay gone, because I found him to be annoying. In X-2 you have to spend countless hours talking to every person, completing every sidequest, etc. and your prize...is for him to return...talk about gipped.

I always thought that Tidus was a great character, or that the whole party of FFX was full of great members. The fact that I liked him may be because I was so young when first playing the game.

IMO, the ending was perfect and the sequel for X was unnecessary. The story is tragic all the way and Tidus fading out just made me sad, but at the same time thinking how great the story actually was.

I thought the ending to X was very sad and very beautiful. Like you said, Napoleon, Tidus and I had rather a love-hate relationship during the game, but his sacrifice at the end was very touching. Even the way he and Yuna interacted in these scenes tugged at my heartstrings, and I never really bought their relationship during the game. I probably cried a little the first time I beat the game, but then, FF games make me cry a lot more than they probably should.

Unfortunately, the ending was ruined by X-2. I don't think Tidus should ever have been brought back- the "sad" ending should have been the only ending. Tidus coming back doesn't really send a great message, and it cheapens his sacrifice and the grief the people who knew him (and I assume, liked him more than I did) would have gone through after his "death."

The ending was actually pretty obvious to me that they will make another sequel. XD Just that I never thought it will be in a way as to where the sequel have a lot of fans hating it. XD I don't know. I am still wondering if they will try to make it up and make a FFX-3. Would be awesome... maybe.
