Riku and Xion

    I was thinking about 358/2 Days here the other day, and then it hit me: in the cutscene where Riku just beat Xion on the bridge, and he then momentarily lifts his blindfold in order to see who she is, he says "your face... who are you really? and why do you have a keyblade?".

    Who did Riku see Xion as? Nothing has been officially confirmed, so it's all up to fan speculation :/

    I think that he might see her as Kairi which could be why he is shocked and would explain the subtle romantic feelings I believe exist between Riku and Xion towards the end . However it could be that he hasn't seen Kairi since she has grown and simply sees Xions normal appearence. The shock could be because he notices the remarkable similarities between Xion's appearance and a younger Kairi's appearance (the one he remembers) both of which are identical except their hair.

    I was thinking of this too. Riku and Xion. I mean think of it this way
    This is what I think about the pairings so far:
    Sora and Kairi
    Roxas and Namine
    Terra and Aqua
    Riku and Xion is also a good pair too.

    He saw her as Sora most likely. Which would lead to his calling the Keyblade a Sham, because she isn't actually Sora.

    Makes sense.

    I also only recently learned from the 1.5 ReMIX that Axel sees her as Naminé. Makes sense too, I just never thought about it.

    There's a good chance Riku probably saw multiple people in Xion. Xion is in some case an equivalent living being of Sora's heart, so all the people Sora has allowed into his heart, Riku was probably able to view them all.

    If not this my guess would be probably a quick flash of Sora before seeing Xion. Since Riku really only knows about Sora having one nobody, and also knowing Sora is locked away in slumber, would explain why he's a bit shock as well.
