Music Lounge: Music You Listen To

I wasn't able to find the music thread we used to post in to show what type of music we all listen to, so I've decided to create a new one. This is where you talk about what music you are currently listening to, what genres you are into, and any favorite songs you enjoy.

As for me, since I am always doing homework, help out with my church and do bible studies, I usually have to find something to calm my mind. I jump on youtube to listen to homework edited versions of good, soothing songs so I can always focus and finish up projects. I am listening to Flying Lotus' "Fall In Love" right now.

Moving this to Music and Industry, because that section needs love, too.

    ---

I usually listen to classic rock, but I was listening to a segment on a radio morning show the other day about "songs drunk white chicks dance to", and now this song is stuck in my brain and won't go away:

This song is pretty much incomprehensible, but somehow so catchy anyway. Also, I'm impressed that the women in the video are actually fully clothed, or close enough.

I'm all about EDM, with my favorite subgenre being Hardstyle, although I listen to mostly anything from Drum & Bass, House, rarely Dubstep, and sometimes Electronica.

The song below was probably my main song for the entire summer of last year and was made by one of my favorite Hardstyle duo Psyko Punkz.

I've been going around listening to different house club music and I came across this one. I listen to this one while finishing homework.

I have yet another song stuck in my brain:

I adore this video so much, I can't even. Beautiful dancing. The song's sort of overplayed, but eh, I still like it. But mostly, the dancing.

Acid Jazz and Trip Hop. Usually in videos on youtube about 3 or 4 hours long filled with various artists.
The rest of the time it's video game music.

My music selection is dependent on what I happen to be doing at the time, for the most part.

If I'm studying or just trying to chill, I'll throw on something soft, and instrumental only, since lyrics tend to distract me from my work. I'm finding that the works of Japanese hip hop artists (Nujabes, Kyo Itachi being chief among them.) have been especially high on my go-to playlist.

When I'm working out or otherwise doing something physically active, I prefer more lively music, usually in the vein of hard rock/metal etc.

*Sigh* I need to just stay off the internet, because I keep stumbling across earworms that I can't get rid of. But Michael Bolton kills it in this song. "Now back to the good part!" :D

I've been listening to a lot of comedy/lighthearted stuff lately.

I listen to a wide variety of genres, from classic rock to electropop. The only genre that I normally don't enjoy is country, but besides that genre I usually like a few songs in all of the other ones.

Currently, I've been listening to a lot of Lights. Her latest album, Little Machines, came out back in September and I've been listening to it all year.

This video came out a few months ago and I've been listening to this song regularly.

This is probably my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. Their music makes me happy. XD

The most recent Michael Jackson song I remember paying attention to. Say whatever about the guy's personal life, he was a hell of a performer.

Love this guy. Definitely one of the best to come from American Idol. Kinda proves maybe it's better not to win. I don't know, when he's singing, he just really seems like he means it. And that's cool.

Anyone have a song to share?
