The Player's Hub

Greetings, current and prospective Roleplayers of KHPlanet!

With the current mood and mind of giving us something new to wrap ourselves around for motivation and inspiration, I have decided to start up "The Player's Hub."

While we may frequently find ourselves wrapped up in the actual act of roleplaying, it's just as important to discuss roleplaying as it is to actually do it; roleplaying is, after all, a collaborative art and activity. The creation of The Player's Hub aims to bring the roleplaying community here on KHPlanet closer together, and enhance our outlooks on our much beloved pastime beyond the experiences of any single roleplay. ​

With this end in mind, The Player's Hub will strive towards these means:

1. Roleplayer Biographies. It is requested that both new, and old/returning roleplayers on KHPlanet provide a brief summary of themselves in terms of their roleplay experiences, philosophies etc. Tell us who you are, share your history as a roleplayer, who/what inspires your writing and/or character creation. Essentially, creating a short bio for yourself.
2. Welcoming New Roleplayers. Members entirely new to roleplaying are encouraged to introduce themselves on this thread. Some may not have as much of a background as those of us that have been around for a while, and that's just fine. Anyone new that is looking into roleplaying is welcome to post and ask questions of the more veteran members.
3. Library of Resources. With the growth of the roleplaying community in both size and activity in mind, The Player's Hub will be home to a stock of resource materials pertaining roleplaying. This will include linking back to the Roleplay Section Rules here on KHP, and further links to any other threads and/or documents that may be useful to our roleplaying activity.
4. Announcements. As the site, and subsequently the section, commence to rebuild and grow, announcements will be made, bringing to light such instances as newly posted roleplays, section contests and events and anything occurring on the main site that may pertain to or be of interest to the roleplaying community.
5. Discussion of General Roleplaying Topics. This is to be a thread where roleplaying is looked at and discussed by the community beyond the out of character threads, visitor messages and private messages. Perhaps you have a lingering question about a rule or standard; maybe you have a fresh perspective on the creative process that you'd like to share; you may need some help working through your writer's block, or getting over a hump in character creation. Whatever the case may be, this a place to discuss it.

My name is Become. Formerly known as Wayward, and before that Zhyriad, I first joined the KHPlanet community in July of 2009 as Zhyriad. Roleplaying had already been a hobby of mine for several months when I joined these forums, having spent some gratuitous time doing so on KHInsider and what was then the Roleplayer Guild. Even before that, however, I had been in the habit and pastime of creating (albeit horrid) fan characters and fictions on the now defunct MyFavoriteGames forums, and had been exploring creative writing for about two years prior. Other experiences in roleplaying have included (in some cases very) brief stints on KH-Vids, Roleplay Gateway, RPGChat and KH-Media (where I served a short term as roleplay moderator prior to their decline around 2010).

I've stuck around KHPlanet because I've often enjoyed the more casual approach they've had to roleplaying, and have found several good minds with which I've collaborated. In my early heyday in the RP section here, I could easily be found concocting ideas with Requiem (AKA Insanity AKA Moogle) and bashing heads with the presently retired Zerieth.

As evidenced above, I've been around the block in my relatively short time roleplaying. Doing so has given me different perspectives on approaching what has been a longstanding hobby. I've found it in myself to appreciate different styles of writing and roleplay management, though I might not always agree with every aspect of every one, and am always looking for something to take away from new ventures and keep the writer in me inspired.
