    Ok, so I already made a thread for this game a long time ago. But back then the game didn't even really have a name yet. So I thought I'd make a more official thread for it. What are your thoughts on what we've seen on this game so far? What are some things you are most optimistic about. Is there anything about what they've shown so far that you're skeptical about?

    I think it looks damn near amazing. I'm optimistic for it in general but I'm still skeptical of Nintendo after the decade of Wii and WiiU gimmick train silliness. I dont see myself having this any time soon. ;-;

    As much as I agree about the gimmicks and disappointments that have come out of Nintendo lately, I'll still probably end up getting the switch. If nothing else just for Zelda.

    When it comes to Zelda I'd normally be right there with ya but I'm too skeptical now myself. I wanna see what will come of it.

    The Zelda does look damn amazing though. ;-;

    I'm almost entirely certain my life depended on this game the moment I saw footage for it. While I would like to give the Switch a bit of time before I get my hands on one, this game is essentially forcing me to get one ASAP.

    I can see where you're coming from on that. Honestly still not entirely positive what to think about the Nintendo switch. I'm seeing a lot of positive feedback about it since the trailer was released. However it sounds, to me, more gimmicky than the wii-u ever was. I can see it being either amazing or a total failure without much middle ground.

    However the game itself looks fantastic. And I have a soft spot for Legend of Zelda games to begin with. I'll probably hold off on actually buying the system until I see what comes of it.

    I'm reserving judgement myself and waiting this time. I dont think it's "as" gimmicky since Nintendo seems to have finally ditched all the motion controls, tablets and sh*t buuuutttt that's just at first glance.
    It can be gimmicky itself since it's basically a portable tablet system but I do have hope since I did see it could be just a standard console when it's in it's tv dock with a pro controller.

    It's like the Switch could go either way at the moment. Less gimmicky or far worse. O-O

    So I finally bought the game... or rather my boyfriend bought it for me last week. I've been kind of glued to it during most of my free time over the past week. Thought I'd finally get up my thoughts so far. I probably have about 20 hours of game play thus far. Even so, I don't think I've found even half of the content. I've found maybe about 25 shrines, gotten through one of the games 'dungeons' if you could call them that, and found a random dragon. lol
    Out of sheer curiosity, I did run straight for Hyrule Castle right off the Great Plateau... that was a grave and hilarious mistake. lol Overall so far I think this might be one of my favorite Zelda games ever. It's definitely a step in the right direction.

    Things like so far:
    The exploration aspect is wonderful, though it does well to still feel like a classic Zelda title. The map is absolutely gorgeous.
    The complexity of some of the major characters is something that was lacking in previous titles. I'm not a fan of Zelda so far, though I do admire their attempt at steering her somewhat from the usual Princess mold.
    Enemies are realistically challenging and interesting.
    Horse taming is so much fun. It definitely makes up some of my disappointment at the lack of Epona. At least so far lol.

    Things I don't like as Much so far
    I think they could be a bit more diverse with some of their side quests. Not sure how to say this... I just feel like they could have made them a bit more engaging or interesting. A lot of them sort of just feel like they are simple tasks to do while you aren't pursuing the main quests.
    The motion controls. Some of the motion control shrine puzzles are way more difficult than they needed to be. >.>

    Plot twist. You can get Epona. Just use the Amiibo.

    It's like 12 bucks though, come on. You know you want the majestic steed.

    That's alright, I caught a fine black haired steed, and named it Blackpona so... Who's the real winner here?

    That was one of the coolest Ganon fights ever. Even if my 'companion' was being a little shite.
