I've never had strong feelings either way...I don't really use it, but I don't feel as though people who do are particularly evil or anything.

Why do you feel it should be illegal?

  3. Well crap dude. Some of these really aren't the age limit for that business.

Actually, besides child pornography (which is an 'underground' business) any company, or whatever you would call it, that produces pornography needs to use men/women who are of age. If they didn't, they would be arrested for child sexual abuse charges...and I know for one that when someone starts a business, they like to NOT get arrested.

And as for child porn, that's obviously quite a horrible thing to produce. However, if you're caught producing, or even watching/in possession of child pornography, you'll get arrested. That's why it's condemned to being an underground business...but it's illegal to even have it on your computer.

So I think the part you want to be illegal is illegal.

I suppose the only thing I've heard about porn that makes me a bit sad is that often times foreign women are used in porn videos and paid very little for various reasons. Where an american girl might get 1000 dollars for a porn shoot (I don't really know actual wages), a chinese girl might get 5.

I don't think a person should watch porn don't get me wrong. There are many moral and religious implications. In terms of getting the law involved however, I still don't see why it's necessary. Why else do you think?

Now thats opininated. im not the one to say GO WATCH PORN. no...thats not where im coming from but to say you sholdnt watch porn is like blantly saying. dont express yourself. now i dont watch it (often) XD but i have freind that watch it and in fact they dotn watch it for sexual reasons i have soem freinds that watch it because its funny and i have some that watch it with there girlfriends. So its not all bad. your just looking at it as a religious slight. and to come at this conversations with a religious view is the compltely wrong way to approach things....most of the time anyway because religion isnt exaclty tied into everything it causes contreversy in arguements. im a firm beliver in Christ however.....im not going to s tart a massive conflict in a trivial argument.

Who's bringing religion into it? I'm saying I don't think people should watch (or make, whatever) it...my reasons are my own, if you don't like knowing them you're free to disregard them. (I haven't even said what the implications were)

The fact that one can express themselves through porn is not a reason that it's ok (the argument's not as trivial as you're making it out to be). Heck, serial killers could express themselves by stabbing people, that's certainly not ok. Not all forms of expression are fine...thus merely being a form of expression, does not make it the right thing to do.

And not to be abrupt...but if you're serious, and you have a friend who needs to watch porn with his girlfriend to get the fire going...then there's something wrong with that girlfriend. (That's a joke). People this age should be 'clear for takeoff.'

well, I think it technically falls under the right of freedom of expression doesnt it? Im not sure but I think so. Some people need it, some people don't, whatever floats your boat. Besides, its all consensual and such, so its not like its being forced on someone.

  8. Well i dont watch it but i dont see anything blatantly wrong with it (except of course, as Mike said, the child stuff).
Not only because it is something that you have the choice to watch but because it is a life style.
People are payed large sums for high-level porn films i believe. Without that who knows. Im sure there are plenty of very pretty but not that bright people out there.
And yes i must say please dont bring religious things into this. Religion is a different category.
Also yes a murderer should not 'express' themselves via stabbing someone. But Porn does not hurt people, make them bleed, and die does it. People are rarely forced into having sex on camera. And when they are it is not called Pornogrphy its called a little thing named Rape.

  9. Dude you serious? They have a bunch of interviews with Porn stars in which they say that a bunch of crappy stuff happened to them.

"But Porn does not hurt people, make them bleed, and die does it."

Well, when some guy's fetish is donkey bunching a girl in the back of the head while having intercourse...guess who goes out and films exactly that? It's good business.

I'd say that hurts pretty bad. I would imagine the directors aren't exactly winning any employer of the year awards.

I'm also still failing to see how what everyone is refering to as 'religion' has no place in the discussion. Morality is at the heart of the subject. I could probably make a handful of arguments to support the idea that watching porn is immoral...I don't feel I need to, but the fact that I could kind of shows it's a relevant point.

I completely agree with this post. Of cource, the underground stuff with children is not funny at all (the people who do these kinda stuff should be really punished for this), but people only watch it if they want to. and there are many tests which are done to get into that industry, like age apropriate, blood tests every sinle month, psicollogy meetings (why would they want to get into this, anyway).

I'm not for it. but i'm also not completely against it.

  12. Im sorry but i do not like the fact you seem to have ignored my entire post except for the bit about hurting. It seems either that lot is too good an argument for you or you have just decided to ignore it completely.

Also religion does not have a place because yes its about morals but religion is telling you that it isnt right. there is no opinion there. if you follow that religion to the core then you may as well post 'My religion says its bad' then what argument do we make to that? "Your religion is shit" or "Religion makes no sense there is no god."

I mean, if you want me to be a right cow tell me. But I know religious people and i dont want to hurt feelings plus im actually very tolerant of other peoples beliefs. I even tried to pity the bloody 7/7 bombers.

And simply why would people who absolutely despised doing it, do it? Its true that i have said its for money but im sure even the thickest pretty girl (or for that matter man) can get a better job. Modelling perhaps.

  13. Yeah but they still chose to have sex for a job. That can ead to serious health issues. One that makes most of them quit is if you have to much sex protected or non-protected, you will not be able to control your bodies functis(in women & men). You'll have to wear a diaper.

Either you're making a huge communication error here, or you're only posting here to feel good about yourself. Besides the points I responded to in your post, I had nothing else to add to your posts. Get over it, I'm not going to take every sentence and go "Oh yes, I have nothing to add to this sentence." That's not how a debate works.

What I did do, was challenge a statement you made, which I DID feel I had something to add to. That's pretty much all I've been doing in this topic, addressing peoples' points.

What's your stance on the subject? Porn should be allowed if people want to watch it. What's my stance? Well, let me quote myself, back from page 1:

So yeah, I'm not really ignoring it because I feel threatened...since it doesn't even clash with my opinion on the subject.

This was the first mention of 'religion' in the topic....hardly much of a mention, but:

But if you'll note...this is a personal statement, not an argument. I'm saying in my view of a perfect world, no one would need or use porn. Besides, I said moral implications first as it is where I draw most of my influence from. And the word religious...Religion is more than trying to convert people by the way...it's a lifestyle one adopts. It doesn't always involve being closed-minded, or taking what some scripture says and immediately drawing conclusions from it...but I can see that any form of explanation wouldn't exactly be well-received in this topic...so quite frankly, it's not worth my time to explain further.

I mean, if that got the ball rolling about how religion is inappropriate, no reason to push things.

Well, you've headed in that direction already. You're getting upset with me like I'm some kind of raving dialect on the street trying to convert you. I definitely merit religious harrassment for what I've posted here. So go ahead and keep on being a 'right cow.'

I'm only quoting this so you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Good show. People like sex, revelation of the century...people like money, another bombshell. Put the two together and it's magic.

So yes...the people making porn want to make porn. Very good. Now show me the contracts they sign that guarantee equitable treatment.

EDIT: Sorry, one last point to make...just to be thorough.

The law tells me murder isn't right...there's no opinion there. Does that mean if someone say, posted a topic here regarding things like murder, euthanasia, etc. then the law has no place in the discussion?

Religion, to many people, is the law above the law. And before you say I'm some crazy religious nut who already has his mind made up because of this law above the law...I'll quote myself AGAIN for emphasis:

I will say it right up front. Yes in the past I have enjoyed the wonders of porn. But now that I have become a more mature person and have seen what it does to people, and the sin that is in it. I no longer watch, use, or really have anything to do with it. Mind you I do try and convince other people to use porn. I am not a religious nut in any way. But I do hold a strong hold in my religion, Christianity. I am told, by the Bible, that having sex before marriage, with anyone that is not your wife/husband, or with the same sex, is a sin. So there for are not allowed to do it. So I know stand on the I am against it side of porn.

Porn, is something that we all have seen and enjoy to love, the real question is how often do you watch it?
