The first 8 minutes are embedded in everyone who has watched it, minds. 13 episodes, so it's short (but short ones are good, it's all story no fillers)

As for NGE, it's 26 or 2 movies or 4 remakes. I think 2 of the 4 remakes have been made, but the original is much better in my opinion. The series leave you going "wtf" making you thing you've missed out on something, and it's right. I've watched the whole season about 8 times always picking up something new >.<
Because of that, it's kind of become my obsession XD
The movies are seperated into 2 DVD's and 3 parts. 1st being a summary of the series up to episode 24, 2nd and 3rd part telling us of a different ending than the series.

Are we talking about Fruit Basket? Because I've read the manga and watched it. They are two completely different things. I watched the anime first than read the manga.

I'm way into Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you want a truly deep type of anime, I'd recommend that. It starts off as your average shounen mecha type of anime but as it progresses, it dives deep into the minds of the characters showing how twisted they all are.
Azumanga Daioh is a good one if you want a random chuckle. Ouran High Host Club is different, nevertheless, I loved it when I finished it last night ^^,
FLCL is a must, it has everything XD

Usually I do read them online, or download them. Most of the time it's downloading at the start of the month when I have my bandwidth still in use. After that it becomes way too slow and each page scan takes ages to load up =\

Chobits = Good anime, i love the openning, Chii is so kawaii. I'd recommend it to you, but its a tad weird. Dont be put off by the main characters random love for porn. xD

Loveless = Also ace, yet if yaoi makes you uneasy dont watch it xD
