A Clash of Resonant Hearts

Discussion in 'Roleplay Arena' started by KuraiKeybladeMaster, Jul 4, 2012.

1. Background Check-
This is set nine years prior to the first Kingdom Hearts, when Maleficent attacks Radiant Garden with a swarm of Heartless. This event should draw opportunists looking to take part in the fun, and wielders of light looking to quell the darkness.

The battle begins while the Heartless attack is in full swing. All around, hearts are being stolen and consumed, a chaotic dance of darkness that threatens to engulf all of Radiant Garden. It is up to the wielders of light to try and save a world on the edge of destruction.

Battlefield-
This battle is taking place, obviously, on Radiant Garden. More specifically, the fighting will start in the outer gardens. This is a fairly wide-open space. The main area is diamond shaped with large rectangles of flowers (now warped and decayed by the surrounding darkness) along stone walkways. There is a building of some sort in the middle that took the brunt of a wave of Heartless and is now collapsed into ruin. Surrounding the main area are fountains and pools of water, and past them to the north is the entrance to the castle town. When the characters arrive, the gardens are flooded with Heartless, just as Maleficent's attack peaks.

Rules
Basic KHPlanet RP Arena Rules.
-In addition, all characters must be from the KH universe.
-This is an open battle. At most, I am looking for three other characters; at least, I am looking for one.
-Only one character per person.
-No time magic is allowed.
-No form of healing is allowed.
-The next rule I am going to borrow directly from another thread: "Summons such as Heartless are allowed in reasonable numbers (don’t push too much over 5 or so). However, the person on the other end has complete control over what happens to them when they’re attacked. In other words, something like Heartless can be killed off at the discretion of the person fighting against them." Note that in the original post, the "reasonable number" was 10, but it was changed for this battle. This rule was originally posted by Wayward.
- No larger summons are allowed.

Who's In-
KuraiKeybladeMaster, BK-201, Wayward, and G.SummonerBWM were the original members. Due to the imbalance of good and evil characters, Requiem has also joined.

Who's Being Challenged-
The challengers are: Axeus, Rush, Lao Deheian, Richelle, and Sinna.

Template Set up-
A standard KHPlanet Template is fine. For reference, see Axeus below (note that this uses a slightly modified version of the Template):

KuraiKeybladeMaster's Character-

Name: Axeus (no middle or last name)

Age: 17

Race: Human

Main Weapon: Black Keyblade, slightly similar to Xehanort's in design (BBS), but less ornate.

Gender: Male

Position: Self-taught Keyblade Master (has trained for three years).

Alignment: Evil. While he could be called neutral, because he really just does whatever he wants rather than working toward a higher evil, Axeus has a dark fondness for stealing hearts.

Appearance: Pale skinned, lean but not skinny. Has unkempt, but not too spiky black hair. He wears armor somewhat similar to Terra or Ventus' (BBS), but it is colored black and grey, and he never wears the helmet. His eyes are blood red and he always wears a piercing glare. If he ever takes off his armor, which is rare, he is wearing a suit vaguely kin to Sora's outfit in KH2, but with full pants and no red, blue, or yellow (also a bit more "flat," Sora's outfit has a certain buoyancy).
He is about 5'10''.

Personality: Axeus is a loner, and always has been. He despises almost everyone he meets and therefore chooses to interact with others very little. When he does come into contact with others, he is very quiet, sometimes silent. He hates weakness and will steal the hearts of those that are not strong enough to stop him. Axeus relishes battle and constantly tests himself against other powerful beings.

HIstory: Axeus' full bio can be found in the Profiles forum in the thread Kingdom Hearts Character- Axeus. I would post a URL but I don't have 10 or more posts under my belt just yet.

While wandering the Realm of Light, Axeus sensed a powerful source of darkness in the nearby world of Radiant Garden. In contrast to the Background Check, Axeus has traveled to the world obviously not as a wielder of light but the opposite. His goal is to take part in the madness and steal as many hearts as he can.

Abilities: Axeus is able to attack very capably using darkness, mostly in the form of condensed bullets shot from the tip of his Keyblade. His mastery of darkness also includes being able to use corridors of darkness even having power over Heartless. Axeus can control Heartless near him so they don't attack him as well as summon a handful of Neoshadows (3 or 4) at will. He is also quite good with a Keyblade for someone who trained themselves. Unfortunately, his defensive capabilities are virtually non-existent; he relies on harrying the enemy with powerful offense to win fights. If he defeats someone in battle, he will usually try to steal their heart.

Home World: Traverse Town

Current Location: Now, Axeus wanders the Realm of Light taking hearts and spreading darkness.

Requiem's Character-

Character Name: Sinna
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Homeworld: Pale Meadows – A world where there are many silver plains and forests, where the wind always blows to the east, and where the moon is always full.

The Apperance
Height: 5’ 1”
Hair Color: Black hair that flickers with white, sometimes in waves, sometimes in strands, but always
Eye Color: The irises are “shattered” into a rainbow of color. Everything else is normal.
Looks: When her mind isn’t focused on the current situation, her eyes show a mix of coarse hatred and sincere pity all at once. Her face has lost its youthful vibrance and luster, but the shape still seems youthful. Her clothes are sort of a motley assortment, a gathering of what she could find or steal. Half a sweater here, part of a coat there, and a little bit of patchwork thrown in to tie it all together.

Details
Weapons: Carries a simple rock sling with her, but enchanted to withstand her magic so she can use certain abilities with it.
Abilities:
Black Mana –– As a result of the experimentation done on Sinna, she has constant generation and access to incredibly volatile mana.
- Black Charge: Gathers energy in a cloud around her.
- Black Burst: A sudden discharge of mana from her body. The effect? Sheer concussive force.
- Jet Punch: Mana around hand, explosive impact.
- Ebony Javelin: Beam of energy, goes at speed of javelin, explodes on contact
- Raven Retreat: Surge going forward, propels Sinna backwards. Cheaper than Coal Rush in terms of energy.
- Dark Surge: A trail of mana is sent out, releasing small detonations along the way and adjusting course at said detonations (No curved line, it’s straight between points). Those points aren’t particularly deadly, but they might knock one off one’s feet. When Sinna finally wills it, the chain will end and a massive detonation of sheer force will occur.
- Onyx Barrier: Explosive wall, absorbs energy types and detonates physical types
- Coal Rush: A burst of mana coming from anywhere but her front, allowing Sinna to jump, run, drop, or strafe faster.
- Ink Boomer: Sticky Grenade. Subject to gravity and etc in transit to its target.
- Stygian Pearl: A pearl of mana, about the size of baseball that, when detonated, emits a POWERFUL concussive force. The pearl has an outer shell made of highly concentrated magic, only to contain the power within. Very expensive, but very useful. . Subject to gravity and etc in transit to its target.
- Sable Recovery: A grenade that releases healing energy (works like numbing anesthetic).
- Noire Blade: A dao is formed of the mana.

Info About Character
Alliance: Dark
Personality: She’s lost all basic traces of her humanity in this instance. Her sole focus on destruction leaves no time for sentimentality and remembrance, therefore her emotion is all in the present. Sinna only considers the future once she has achieved her current objective.
Biography: No memory, no name, no life. This was eight years ago. Her Awakening occurred in the dungeon of some castle located in the Pale Meadows, subject to experiments of a wizard Hierarchy. The writings in her cell told her that she was not the first. The wizards were reasearching new methods of magic use, most likely for war. They called her ‘Sinna’. Their reasons meant nothing to the woman. She was just a guinea pig.
Unfortunately for those mages, their experiments succeeded. During one procedure, mana began to emit from her every pore, black as night. It moved as fluidly as life itself. A sudden rush of adrenaline. Everything goes dark. When she awoke, the room was deserted and wrecked, the mangled mages lying against the walls. No trace of fire, but everything looked as if a blunt object had smashed into it. Sinna’s binds were free.
She ran upstairs, into some throne room. A man on the throne. Him and those men in armor were hardly a match. Escape.

When Sinna finally took a moment to consider the possibilities of her situation, only one conclusion stood out. An overlord, an organization, a conglomerate with one leader was responsible. That meant that there could be others out there, and she decided to contribute to anarchy by destroying civilization where she meets it. Specifically, government and places of power.

Alright, it looks like we have a full roster! Thanks again to BK-201, Wayward, and G.SummonerBWM, and Requiem for joining.

Here is the Posting Order:

Appearance Age:
15

Race:
Nobody

Appearance:

Personality:
He has little to no personality but for some odd reason he has clung on to a fragment of his heart before he was killed so he can feel a little bit of emotion. He can't feel or understand love, anger, sadness, and many other core human emotions and usually only acts on what is the most logical solution. The only thing that drives him forward is finding out who he was before and exactly what the memories from that last fragment of his heart really mean. Sometimes when that fragment of his heart is stimulated he will be able to feel his full human emotions and become extremely powerful but will forget the time he had with his full emotions completely.

History:
He was born into a family who worshiped the force of Kingdom Hearts and longed to touch it to become more powerful than the other humans. But one day the family head's wife became pregnant and died during child birth, this caused the family to despise that one child, they thought of him as a sign of misfortune, a sign of death that would bring the family down into darkness. So they simply put the child to work keeping the basement clean and then didn't acknowledge him hoping that would prevent the cruel fate. Whenever they would give him food they would say "It was for the rats". While he was under there he found a trunk of books, a set of BB guns, and a TV. While he was under there he also met an old man who had a debt to the family. He taught the boy to speak, read and write, and shoot and they soon became friends until the old man died of untreated heart failure. One that same day the family made a decision to offer that child's heart to Kingdom Hearts seeing as they knew it was extremely powerful. However, before they could fully complete the ritual he escaped with a fragment of his heart the rest of his damaged heart created a Keyblade. By the time he got to the castle that never was he had become a nobody and had lost but a few of his memories. His nobody then joined Organization 13 before quitting for his own reasons and setting off to find his own memories. He is currently observing Radiant Garden, his original home.

Weapon of Choice:

He carries several types of ammunition with his keyblade, Explosive Rifle Shells, Anti Material Rifle Shells, and Armor Piercing Rifle Shells are his main type of ammo though.

Ability:
Electrokinesis and attacks based off of electricity.

Name: Lao DeHeian*
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Position: Radiant Garden Defender; Castle Knight & Officer. Commander of Field Forces.*

Appearance:
A shorter, and by that strand less imposing figure amongst an army's ranks, Lao DeHeian stands at 5'7" tall even. Despite his short stature, Lao is by no means a pushover or a weakling. He's built like a beast, as some of his peers might say. By a clear look it's certain that he's trained his physical body to a genuinely impressive level, having well-defined muscles apparent all over. Marks enduring from his training persist in some places even to this day.*

He has darker skin, though not completely black; it's more of a light brown if anything. His eyes stand out against his tanned face in a bright grey, nearly silver color. His entire head has a pointed, narrow, and sharp appearance, harking to, in some people's minds, a bird of some sort. His hair seems to have a typical "anime" appearance, sticking up in a short, but perfectly spiked afro. Noticeably, his ears have a pointed elf-like look.

Personality:
"The good leader." At least that's how he sees himself. Devoted to world, king, comrades, and civilians alike, he places his most dedicated foot forward on the field of battle. Often seen charging at the heads of forces upon horseback, he is certainly a more hands-on sort of commander, who would rather be in the heat of the action rallying his troops than stuck in a tent in a war camp formulating strategies. However, he has zero tolerance for insubordination, and will punish and demean anyone that isn't cooperating or working up to par. He battles under a code of conduct and fairness, even to the most heinous of sentient foes.

Weaponry
Dragon Wings; a prized heirloom of his bloodline, this pair of swords is Lao's most frequently used weaponry. Forged from a lustrous silver-blue metallic ore, the blades are extremely durable and can stay sharp for long periods of time. The blades each measure around two and a half feet in length, equating to short swords, and resemble something of a Romanesque design. The hilts each measure under a foot, and are decorated with wings spreading out a the tops, which help to form the hand guards. Minor enchantments of Light magic allow them to more easily cut down Heartless and he like.

Dragontail; mostly used in horse-mounted combat, this is more of a spear weapon. It measures roughly four*feet long with a hollowed metal staff for lightweight and durability. A the top end of the staff, a spearhead is mounted. The head measures about a foot in length, and features not only a pointed end, but blades edges on the sides for the purpose of slashing. It too possess some enchantment. *

Noble Steed; as with any knight, Lao has a personal steed. His is a black stallion, which he has named "Trill" and is a capable steed for the battle field.

Abilities:
A trained warrior, and a physically powerful individual, Lao can make for a deadly warrior in pitched combat. He can take hits that most warriors would crumble at, and even survive some damaging spells cast upon him. And he can definitely return the hits he takes as well. Ultimately, he's physically more capable than subordinates and most of his superiors.*He's also received training in magic, though much of I was self-taught from his teen years. His greatest claims to fame have been integrating magical spells and magical abilities with melee combat maneuvers.

History:
Born and raised in Radiant Garden, Lao DeHeian comes from a lineage of knights that long served the kings of the world. Being of this lineage as the son of a knight, Lao too was indoctrinated into the ranks of the warriors defending the Garden. From a young age, he was put through the physical training of the knighthood, and taught manners of chivalry and justice. As he aged into adolescence, he took up the blade, and began training for battle. Before long, he was on horseback, and began studying and practicing magic. By age 20, he was granted status as a full fledged knight, and his father, then upon his death bed, passed on the cherished heirlooms of the family, the Dragon Wings. Over the next few years, his tact, strength and will were enough to earn him promotions, ultimately becoming a field commander by age 27.

Other:
- Has a wife*and an infant son, though they have escaped the chaos.

4. EtherealSummoner

EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

Name: Richelle
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Title: Shimmering Lily
Position: Assistant to Leo DeHaian.

Appearance: Long, Blue hair with a blue armor and green eyes. Is 5'3.
Weapon: A sword named the Walloon Sword. It improves her defense as it is equipped with a large hilt. She also use a silver shield.
Personality: Pure but a powerful leader. Strategic and swift.
Abilities: Has high attack speed and combos. Quick and accurate with her agility , she can also cast a guard spell that can strengthen defense to make up for dealing less damage and the ability, "Reflex Movement", which would allow her to improve her blocking and evading skills. Decent at using her crushing special attack, "Swirling Slicer."

History: A captain of Radiant Garden, she has participated in a couple of battles that end up earning her the title, "Shimmering Lily" at the age of nineteen because of her great superior swordsmanship on the defensive line. She also has, and still is, perfecting a skill that allows her to block the flow of magic casting in her enemy although the chance for the attack to inflict it is lower-than-average. She tend to have some study times whenever she have time and when she have practice, she would usually run to someone who is proficient at magic, allowing her to develop her defense to take less damage from light attacks.

5. A horde of Heartless swarmed the outer gardens of Radiant Garden. The screams of townsfolk could be heard as shadows rose out of the ground around them and attacked, intent on consuming their hearts. As the bodies of helpless civilians dropped, they sank into darkness and reformed into a shape with glowing, yellow eyes.

This was not the war; no, this was just a preeminent slaughter. Radiant Garden's defenses were soon in place, and it was then that the real battle began.

For Axeus, he was still surrounded by darkness. Soon, he would step back out through his Dark Corridor and back into the Realm of Light. He waited for another moment, giving himself time to ponder.

What is the source of this darkness? And why is it on the world Radiant Garden? That seems like the last place I'd want to be. His face expressed concentration. Then his thoughts changed course. Radiant, huh? Come to think of it... There are probably plenty of ripe hearts for the picking. Then he smiled and realized, was there ever any doubt? Having thought long enough, Axeus twisted his hand in front of him, making the darkness of his current realm warp and a circle of light appear in front of him. Through it he could see the battle of Radiant Garden unfolding. As he went to step through the portal a rare thought entered his mind. Should I put on my helmet? He wondered if keeping his identity secret would be necessary.

Who cares?

He stepped through the portal helmetless and into the realm of light.

Due to the unpredictable pathways granted through Dark Corridors, Axeus entered Radiant Garden in plain sight, near the now-demolished building in the center of the outer gardens. He quickly surveyed the area and spotted a group of Mega-shadows, which he dashed towards. He then used their large bodies as cover from the rest of the battlefield, his powers to control Heartless keeping them from attacking him. From there, he would watch the battle until he saw an opportunity for a surprise attack.

(Sorry for the delay everyone! There was some sort of glitch that was keeping my post from appearing. Needless to say, we're rolling now!)

Rush looked over the city from his perch atop a tall building, his eyes were blank and emotionless as he raised his hand into the air, a keyblade appeared in his hand as he jumped from the top of the building. His feet hit the ground with a loud thud, he then walked into a large plaza where a large heartless was devouring the citizens of Radiant Garden creating an even larger army of heartless. As Rush inched closer to the large beast he pointed his weapon at the monster, as it turned it's head to face him he pulled the trigger on his blade as he shot a Thundara at the heartless who flew back into a building.

"Die..." muttered Rush as he continued to shoot the Heartless inflicting heavy damage.

The various cries and orders of war were but blurs in Lao DeHeian's ears as he prepared himself for battle. From a hanger in his personal armory, he removed a set of padded leather garments, including gauntlets, a vest, and a set of leggings. He'd have adorned his true armor, but it wasn't necessary; against the forces he was about to engage in battle, heavy armor would do little more than the leather padding, and the mobility of the latter would come in handy. Nodding in approval, he geared his weapons. His favorite blades, the Dragon Wings strapped snug around his waist, and his spear, Dragon Tail, was held firmly in his right hand.

"Time to go he said."

-/-

Mounted upon his steed, Trill, Lao looked over the Outer Gardens. The once flourishing landscape was covered in a black mass, which swallowed both citizens and soldiers alike. They disappeared into the mass as though drowning in a black river. Shaking his worries away, he turned to his troops. "Richelle," he said to his captain, "you'll lead a detachment of troops down around the left flank. Others will take the right flank. As for me, I'll lead force to clear the center, and join with the remaining forces there and the citizens. We have to secure our escape route."

He looked out over his nervous looking troop. "The enemy is before us. They outnumber us, that much is certain. Heed not the words of the hopeless hearts, lest you lose what hope you've left. Fear not the cold sting of defeat. And if an early end is down this road, remember: GOOD IS THE DAY WE DIE!!" He raised his spear, and turned about. "DAWN," he bellowed towards the Outer Gardens, joined by the cheers of his unit. Then, in a bounding gallop, he charged the Heartless before him.

Richelle stood there as he watch her own commander not afraid to die at all. "But is it really necessary to die and lose such a battle?" She looks on ahead as she took her own group on ahead to take on the strange beasts. " And what of our ruler? I hope that he is ok." Richelle kept on walking on the other side to guide her warriors until they were encountered by several black soldiers with yellow eyes. " My fellow comrades. Let us choose the path of survival and send them back into the abyss!" Richelle ran on towards the soldiers first along with her comrades as she took the first attack, using her sword to slice at the enemy's feet. Guarding and blocking as she did a couple of overspins to kick the enemy into the air, she was able along with her crew to take down the first batch of the invasion.

"Is this really the enemy? But, they are horrendous! Taking the soldier's hearts as if they are nothing at all and disappearing and reappearing." Richelle saw that there were two more heartless but had a shield with faces on it. As she jump towards them, the heartless took its shield and knocked her back, making her to think up of a better strategy. "This might be trouble..."

9. From his position behind the Mega-Shadows, Axeus observed the outer gardens, a grin steadily growing across his face.

The first thing he noticed was the sound of an electrical blast pounding against a Heartless, and the subsequent crash of that Heartless being thrown into a building. He peeked out from behind his shadowy hiding place. He was able to catch a glimpse of the attacker, a grey-haired man, a bit younger than him. The man seemed to know a thing or two about magic, as the electrical blasts were fairly large.

"DAWN!"

Axeus' head twisted to the side, bringing a squad of mounted knights into view. Ah, the cavalry has arrived. Axeus chuckled. I wonder if they are strong? As the horsemen hit the front lines of their dark adversaries, he very seriously considered charging into the fray as well. Make them fear the darkness as they never have before.

However, Axeus' attention was diverted; part of the squad of knights, these ones unmounted, split up from the main group of knights and began to flank from one side. He checked the main force. It seemed they were trying to push through to the center. Axeus returned his gaze to the detachment. Leading them was a short woman with long, blue hair and matching blue armor. As a squad of Soldier Heartless ambushed the group, Axeus laughed, thinking this would be their untimely demise. He was surprised to see the small group best the Soldiers, mostly due to the help of the Blue-Haired Woman.

Oh yes, Axeus thought, his smile full-toothed, ear-to-ear. She is very strong. I will crush her heart in my hands...

An all-black Keyblade appeared in his grip.

Still staring at the Blue-Haired Woman, he saw her group engaged again, this time by a band of Defender Heartless. Surely they would be able to fell the zealous knights. However, Axeus decided he would lend a hand anyway. He quickly dashed from behind the Mega-Shadows toward the Blue-Haired Woman. When he got far enough away that he was sure they wouldn't attack him, Axeus released control of the Mega-Shadows, so they reverted to acting on instinct.

Then, coming up from behind one of the Defenders attacking the knights, he took control of the Shield-bearing Heartless and leapt over it. He pointed his Keyblade down toward the Blue-Haired Woman and unleashed a volley of dark bullets at her.

While Axeus released released control of more heartless Rush finished off the large heartless with a slash to the head, "Strange... they're more tactical than usual..." as Rush thought to himself he noticed that Radiant Garden's primary defense force had been deployed.

As Rush ran towards Radiant Garden's defenses he noticed a figure which the heartless seemed to be avoiding, he also noticed that he wielded a keyblade. His keyblade glowed as he loaded bullets in it, "Anti Material Rifle Shells... capable of taking down almost any enemy down..." Rush thought as he saw the other keyblade wielder shoot dark bullets at a blue haired woman who appeared to be part of the Defensive Force.

"Watch out!!!" said Rush as he jumped and blocked the bullets while shooting several of his own at the other keyblade wielding boy.

Heavy hooves fell swiftly upon the stone-paved courtyards of the Outer Gardens. Fifty or so cavalry soldiers charged between planters and fountains, sweeping away the tide of Darkness brought about by the Heartless. Leading the charge, Lao gave mighty swings with his spear, felling many of the beasts, which evaporated upon each blow; of course, he was only meeting the peons of the Dark forces, Shadows and Soldiers, which weren't all that hard to defeat, even for novices. Regardless, there were many of them, and it took every one of the fifty horsemen to complete the task of clearing the center enough for the infantry to lead the survivors out of the fray.

"Any of you who wish to flee here now, follow the escorts back to the castle," Lao called to the group of survivors. "But if you wish to stay and fight, we will not stop you."

"Commander!" called one of Lao's officers, "the left flank is under attack by what we suspect is an enemy commander. What should we do for Richelle?"

Lao looked to the left flank with worry, seeing the battle ensuing there from a distance. He looked back to the center, and the people needing to escape. "We can't do anything for them right now," he said with remorse. "The center is our primary obligation. We must escort the survivors to the safe zone within the city... I'll accompany you to the edge of the Outer Gardens. Then I'll help Richelle and the left flank." He turned about, and as a shepherd with a flock of sheep, he began to rally his party back through the central area, and hopefully to safety.

(We really could have used another denizen of darkness in this battle)).

(Yea. We should have another one.)

Richelle didn't know what was going on. As she was about to fight, all she saw were dark bullets flying from behind the Defenders. She wanted to block but she heard a cry of her name and saw that someone else blocked it. "It was a trap. But who are they?" She starts to point her sword towards the man and starts yelling. "Invader. You have messed with our peaceful land and defy the laws of peace! Leave now or face the consequences!" Richelle walked up next to the unknown man who protected her. "If you are ready, then we shall start now." Richelle looked at the enemy and starts charging at the person slowly, throwing strange projectiles at the person, Magic Lock.

13. As Axeus flew over the Defender, unleashing a volley of darkness, he was so sure that he would succeed that he hadn't considered the Grey-Haired Boy might step in. Caught off-guard, a couple of the Boy's bullets hit him, sending him flying to the ground. Axeus held his stomach in pain and a small trail of blood was came from his mouth. When the dust and darkness settled, he was once again on his feet.

Then he could see his enemies, face-to-face, less than 20 yards away from him. Axeus' gaze was piercing, possibly because of his blood red eyes, possibly because of the hate behind them. His face expressed no pleasure; it was twisted into a scowl.

"Invader. You have messed with our peaceful land and defy the laws of peace! Leave now or face the consequences!" Not waiting for a response, the Woman threw a wave of magical projectiles at Axeus.

Now's the time to think fast. Axeus reflected, assessing the situation around him. Two enemies here. One more in the center. This is risky, but hey, what's the point of playing it safe?

Axeus acted with blinding speed. First, he commanded the group of Defender Heartless to attack the Grey-Haired Boy. Using their rush as cover from the Magic Lock, he then summoned four Neoshadows to go harass the center, so that their getaway would not be quite as easy. One Defender was felled by the magic projectiles, but the rest of the group managed to survive.

Finally, it was just Axeus and the Blue-Haired Woman, eyes locked. While the hate in his eyes did not waver, his scowl twisted into a wicked smile.

Axeus pounced toward her, blasting dark bullets until he got into melee range, where he engaged the enemy with his Keyblade. He unleashed a flurry of relentless strikes, trying to overwhelm his opponent. Darkness began to seethe from Axeus' person as he fought the Blue-Haired Woman.

A patchwork individual had been watching the battle from atop a high plateau, biding her time until when the chaos was just right to strike. She saw the buildup, watched the progression drew more to the fray in an all-out brawl. As it progressed, so did she, drawing ever closer to the battlefield.Only when she stood at the very edge of the fighting did she begin charging her mana.

One foolish soldier thought it would be wise to attack the woman with black clouds surrounding her. Big mistake. A sword was quickly formed, an oriental Dao, and pierced through the soldier as he rushed at her. Never stood a chance. More and more mana gathered into a pearl, just as the woman drew her sling. The finished product was nestled, ready for lauch. A few preparatory swings was all it took, and the pearl was released into where a particular throng where a short man atop his steed was surrounded by a multitude of soldiers.*

Sinna the Anarchist had entered the fray, and none would be spared her wrath.

Rush backflipped, barely dodging the defender's attack, "Thunder !!!" chanted Rush as he managed to aim at the defender's hind.

"Damn..." muttered Rush as he took a blunt hit from one of the defender's shields, he flew back a good twenty feet before crashing through a window, glass shattered everywhere as Rush managed to land on his feet. He wiped some of the blood from his mouth as he steadied his keyblade, loading it with armor piercing shells before blasting through the defender's shield eliminating it after shooting it a good three shots. Before loading more shells he saw a soldier easily bested by a woman with a sword. He quickly jumped out the window before shooting the remaining heatless, eliminating them rather quickly.

He then turned to Sinna, who he pointed his weapon, "Any hostility and I will eliminate you without a second thought." said Rush in an almost robotic tone of voice.

Progress through the center ranks proved to be slower than Lao had anticipate. From every direction, the Heartless flanked the escape route, forcing Lao and his company to fight for heir ground gains. After a few waves of easily felled beasts, the path was cleared just enough for the company and the survivors to make significant progress towards the fallback spot. "We're almost there," Lao called to them. "Just keep pushing through!"*

As though heralded by his words simply to spite him, a group of five large shadows sprouts amongst his party. "Shit," he muttered, "spoke to soon I guess." Even as he retreated towards those in the shadows' attack range, the beasts made their moves, and at once, five men of his company were felled to the darkness and from where e bodies once lay, new Heartless were born. The newborn shadows were about to scurry about to multiply their ranks even more, but Lao had his own intentions.*

"Not on my watch," he said. He raised his spear to the sky, and called 'lightning' at the top of his lungs. A rain of lightning bolts fell from above the shadows and Neo-Shadows. The small ones went down easily against the lightning. The larger ones seemed to merely get agitated, and the five them, albeit weakened by the spell, swarmed and surrounded Lao. "You want some more? Then come get it!"*

In answer to his call, the Neo-Shadows went on the offensive. All five lurched forth at him. He choked up his grip on his spear, holding it in one hand, and swept with it to one side, felling the Heartless there. With his free hand, he swept to his other side casting a fire spell out against the Heartless there. All were felled in this attack, at least the ones that were there. He looked to one of his officers. "Alden. Can you handle the task of finishing this escape? Richelle might need my help if the waves continue like this.

"Aye commander. I'll handle the escape."

"Good. I'll join with you once I've aided the flanks. Make haste Trill!" he turned about in time to see a dark mass hurtling towards him. He had just enough time to erect a reflect spell between him and the projectile. It worked, though the shield shattered upon being struck. Even so, he was showered in a light falling of reflect shards and the remains of the projectile in his gallop towards Richelle's flank.

EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

All that Richelle can do is just lift up her shield in front of her to deflect the bullets. As the enemy came to clash down at her, she kept on using her defense to block his attacks. However, she has fell backward after not being able to withstand his attacks any longer. Richelle stood back up and did an Overspin, kicking the man back up into the air followed by a leaping, slashing attack to keep the enemy airborne. "Tell me! Can you feel the pain?" Richelle jumped back so that she can then use her Resonating Pain attack so that she can can thrust at her foe, not holding back with her attack.

"I need to fight faster than him."

20. The Blue-Haired Woman's defense was impressive, as she did not budge against the dark bullets pummeling her shield. However, Axeus' Keyblade attacks were powerful, and by attacking viciously he was able to knock her down; Axeus took this as his cue and tried to end the fight. However, because of Axeus' frivolous attack, the Blue-Haired Woman was able to flip backward, dodging the strike and kicking Axeus, sending him flying into the air. "Oof!" Axeus grunted.

Not a second later, the Blue-Haired Woman was in the air with him, already poised to run him through.

"Tell me! Can you feel the pain?"

This taunt infuriated Axeus. He brought his Keyblade in front of him and blocked the attack with a counter strike so that their two blades were caught in a clash. Holding the Keyblade, and therefore his opponent in place, Axeus leaned forward so that he was nearly face-to-face with the Blue-Haired Woman. His blood red eyes stared into her green ones. Then, in a very rare occurrence, Axeus spoke:

"You are pathetic. Your troops, your commander, even your little Grey-Haired friend, they will all succumb to darkness. As for you... I will hold the light of your heart in my hands, and crush it in front of those you hold dear."

Axeus could feel that he was weakened. He had to try and end the fight quickly or else he would exhaust himself. Axeus swiped at the opponent's sword as hard as he could, aiming to disarm her. He then flipped backward and pointed his Keyblade at her chest. A beam of darkness shot from the tip as Axeus attempted to steal the Blue-Haired Woman's heart, right then and there.
