~Allansia~ (sigh ups)

    History of Allansia

    Many centuries ago chaos spilled into the world. The Demon Princes led armies of demons, orcs, goblins and dark elves against the good peoples of Allansia. This began the War of the Wizards. The final battle took place in the grand city of Carsepolis, centre of Allansia. The forces of chaos overwhelmed the human army and took the first and second walls leaving the humans trapped between the first wall and the ocean. Luckily the elves of the Forests of Night and the dwarves of Frostholm came to aid the human army, driving back the forces of chaos into the forests and mountains from which they came. Carsepolis was in ruins and never rebuilt. The War of the Wizards had ended and the New Age had begun. What was once the Kingdom of Allansia became no more than a group of city-states, each ruled over by self-proclaimed Kings, Dukes and Lords.


    Allansia Today


    Today the arguments between the city-states have been halted. There are no more wars and stability has come to Allansia. Salamonis has become the grandest and oldest of the city-states, its rule stretching out to the villages of Warpstone and Silverton. King Salamon LVII rules with a fair but firm fist. Salamonis is known as the safest place in all of Allansia.
    On the western coast where Carsepolis once stood is Port Blacksand, also known as the City of Thieves. It is known as the most dangerous and corrupt city in Allansia, ruled over by the mysterious Lord Azzur.
    The town of Stonebridge is the only city-state in Allansia not ruled by humans but dwarves. The best smiths in Allansia are here and the dwarves constantly watch the Moonstone Hills for goblins activity.
    As for the elves, they have been in decline since the dawn of the New Age. Their forest cities are a closely guarded secret, protected by magic. It is well known throughout Allansia that the Forest of Yore contains the largest of the elven cities, but the magic protecting it prevents outsiders from entering. Elves that have left the forest cities become considered outsiders and once having left they can never return.
    Hidden in the wilds many chaotic creatures still roam. In the Icefinger Mountains roam orcs, ogres, trolls, giants and many other creatures. Across the Pagan Plains goblin tribes continuously attack merchant caravans whilst in the Darkwood Forest the dark elves have built their own forest city and fiercely guard their dark secrets, plotting to take control of the world for their demon masters. Goblin and Orc tribes roam both the Moonstone Hills and the Craggen Heights, ambushing merchant caravans in Trolltooth Pass and on the Southern Plains barbarian tribes frequently raid the farms around Whitewater River.


    Famous Faces in Allansia


    Nicodemus
    Nicodemus was one of the Three Star Pupils, an apprentice to the Grand Wizard of Yore, Vermithrax Moonchaser. In his early years after Vermithrax’s death Nicodemus was an adventurer, having explored and learnt much of Allansia. His rise to fame came when he encountered what he called the Dark Ones, a group of three evil mages who died during the War of the Wizards and contained their spirits deep in the Southern Plains. Nicodemus was struck by a death spell and survived, being the only one in history to resist such a spell. Nicodemus trapped the Dark Ones within the ruin they resided in and it became their prison. Today Nicodemus lives in Port Blacksand in retirement. Why he chose to live in the City of Thieves no one will ever know.

    Yaztromo
    The second of the Star Pupils, Yaztromo travelled with Nicodemus for a while before the Dark Ones were released. Yaztromo came to fame when he aided the dwarves of Stonebridge in defeating a rising dark elf army under the Witch-Queen. Yaztromo is well known for inventing strange and magical objects, one of which deflected a death spell back at the Witch-Queen. Today Yaztromo lives in a tower in the Darkwood Forest, isolated from the rest of the world. He is often seen helping travellers and adventurers who get lost in the woods or are attacked by dark elf raiding parties.

    Pen Ty Kora
    Little is known about the last of the Star Pupils. He is known as a great healer but his origins are unknown. Yaztromo was once overheard Pen Ty came to Allansia from a land far to the south, over the Southern Plains and the Desert of Bones. His current location is unknown but he is easily recognisable due to his golden mask.

    The Demonic Three
    Vermithrax Moonchaser’s greatest rival, Volgera Darkstorm also undertook the training of three apprentices. Little is known about the Demonic Three except their names; Zagor, Zharradan Marr and Balthus Dire.
    It is well known Zagor resides in Firetop Mountain, north of Stonebridge whilst Balthus Dire rules over the orc and goblin tribes in the Craggen Heights from the Black Citadel. Zharradan Marr’s location, however remains a mystery for the last he was heard from was when he crossed from the mortal realm into the realm of chaos.

    Lord Azzur
    Nothing is known of the Lord of Port Blacksand. He came to the city twenty years ago and violently took control of the city. Azzur rules with an iron fist, killing any who cross his path. Rumours constantly float about the city of his origins, the most popular being he was once Garius the Pirate King of Halak who disappeared twenty years ago. Others say he is a demon in the guise of a man. Whatever the truth I doubt anyone will ever know the man behind the black mask he always wears.

    Religion in Allansia

    There are only three religions in Allansia, that of the Celestial Court, the Animal Court and the Dark Lords (there are older religions but our chars will know nothing of them)

    Glantanka, Goddess of Life (worshipped mainly by the elves)
    Throff, God of the Earth (worshipped mainly dwarves, called Kerellim by the dwarves)
    Hydana, God of the Sea (worshipped mainly in port towns)
    Libra, Goddess of Justice and Balance (primary deity in Salamonis)
    Sindla, Goddess of Luck and Fate (considered by some to be the creator)
    Logaan, the Trickster God (worshiped by thieves and the like)
    ...many more but not really important.

    The Animal Court, mostly worshipped by the barbarians of the Southern Plains
    Kilanirax, Dragon God and the Creator
    The Hawklord, Eagle God of the Skies
    Rogaar, Lion God of the Land
    Lord Whale, Whale God of the Sea

    The Dark Lords, not worshipped (because they created chaos) but there are cults around
    Death, God of...Death
    Disease and Decay, Twin Gods of..you get the picture
    Slangg, God of Malice
    Tanit, Goddess of Envy and Jealousy

    and below the Dark Lords are the three Demon Princes who led the forces of chaos during the War of the Wizards: Sith, Ishtra and Myurr

    Personality: Despite his comparatively tender years, Stormguard is a tough, experienced mercenary. He has travelled all over Allansia and has killed (and more than a few that wern't supposed to be killed). Twin scars to one side of his left eye attest to his battle experience.
    Physically, he is in excellent condition; but there seems to be something calculating and emotionless about him. He is a quiet person most of the time, and usually allows others to make the decisions; but he's very confident of his own ability, and quite ruthless, once he gets into a fight.

    Background: Jerek Stormguard hails from the minor city-state of Kaan, just to the north of Port Blacksand. He served as a hired warrior all over Allansia since running away from home at the age of fifteen, after he accidentally killed his best friend while practising sword-fighting.

Generally being a very brave and bold young lad, he learned the art of the sword from his master tutor who had taught him every possible academic subject in the world of Allansia. During this tutoring, he developed magical abilities to use Light and Dark as powers. Gaining these new skills, he wishes to set off on an adventure of a lifetime. He may get just what he wants.

    Background: The Slayer derives his power from the demon Kazan, who dwells within his arm, locking this warrior in a perpetual struggle to keep from being possessed completely. Only the thick, mystical chains shackled to him keep the dark parasite at bay. As a consequence, a Slayer can only wield a weapon in one hand, a disability he has fashioned into a distinct advantage, doing with one arm what most other swordsmen would need two to do. He primarily attacks his enemies with swords and blunt weapons, but can also, when in a dungeon high in demonic energy, call upon the dark power within him to cast magic spells. This dark power also gives the Slayer a particularly high resistance to Shadow energy, but unusually low resistance to Light energy.

    Appearance: (sorry no pics so i use words) Earl has a height that a bit taller than most of his race with 5 foot as his height. He has long blonde hair to his shoulder. And Earl has no pupils on his eyes with a scar on his left eye. And like other dwarf, he has a beard that reached his stomach. He usually wears a silver armor and always carrying a hammer that equal to his size.

    Equipment: Large Hammer within his back and a bag that has tools for creating, developing, and upgrading weapons and armors. And finally a full plate of armor that contains magical power within.

    Personality: Bears the blood of his race, Earl is brave, brute and stubborn. However due to experience of his journey he also has a kindness and wise in his heart, and more intelligent than most of other dwarfs. He's also confidence about his strength and his skills. And Earl will never give weapon to any person except with the great price.

    Background: Earl's early life was considered similar like other dwarfs in Stonebridge, worshiping Throff, combat, and blacksmith. However, he questioned about the life he bears, and wished to know more than just that 3 things. So he abandoning what he has learned at his young age and leave his hometown. This act, however makes him labeled as heretic by his race. Nowhere without place to return.

    Name: Viktor Cain

    Race: Human

    Sex: Male

    Age: 45

    Occupation: Freelance Necromancer (Poison Magic and Limited Summoning)

    Appearance: Cain does not appear to be a necromancer at times. He is scrawny and, at best, mildly intimidating when he gets really angry, at worse, comical when he even bothers at attempts of intimidation or fear. His black hair is scruffy and usually unkempt. He has bags under his brown eyes which hold, if anything, disinterest half the time rather then malice. Brown leather vest, while battered, has nothing unusually suspicious about it. The dark green cloth shirt underneath the vest is a bit dirty, but otherwise unassuming. Dark green cloth trousers and leather sandals wrap up his usual clothing, although he may wear heavier clothing if going somewhere unusually cold. The only real unpleasant looking item is a small pendent that has a skull with several even more unpleasant runes to look at, which is usually kept under his shirt and vest, firmly out of sight. It can also, in an emergency, act as a foci for emergency casting.

    Personality: Cain is a firm believer in, among other things, using his common sense. He also has a distrust in anything that has any sort of sentience, including himself half the time, and is more then willing to let the noble, heavily armored fool charge in first, and clean up the mess whatever trap was there. If something seems too easy to him, it is a trap or things are going to go horribly wrong. He has no sense of honor, much more concerned with either killing whatever is threatening him, shifting the attention, or putting his legs to good use. If something requires a long and drawn out procedure, he will always try to find shorter, equally or more then equally effective ways of doing said task. Looks, and at many times, acts like a coward, but is all honesty, considers himself the only really sane person, and everyone else is, to varying degrees, blinded to stupid depths by honor and fair play, or out to get him killed. Considering what he does, and how he does it, its a safe way to look at life.

    Background: Cain has a rather mundane birth, the son of a tailor and butcher, the wife being a butcher, the father a tailor. They lived in a village on the outskirts of Salamonis, between there and Chalice, and tried to avoid trouble. The small boy had inherited his fathers cleverness, and his mothers knack for dark magics. He read up on the magics, taking advantage of the fact to circumvent his less then impressive physical abilities. He was a quiet, physically weaker, boy although he was faster and had dangerous skills at his disposal. At the age of sixteen, his skill in dark magic, specifically a sub sect of Necromancy that focused on poisonous spells and summoning undead from either bodies or their forms from battlefields long after they died, he was driven out and exiled to die in the edges of civilization. Ironically, Cain gained much of his outlook on life roaming the borders, honing his skills and finding ways to avoid really confronting those who hated him directly. After several run ins with more powerful spell casters, he had a firm way of dealing with long winded, but deadly, enemies. A swift kick to the groin while they talked at him, and shoving his dirk into said foes neck up to the hilt if he was close. If not, distract them, and either get away or use one of his few direct combat spells to wound them. He rapidly got a quiet reputation for not playing by the older, fair rules of play, but a highly effective warrior in his own right. Skirting civilizations outskirts gave him a casual outlook on nobles, dukes, and other royalty, rarely giving them respect they didn't earn. Needless to say, he had little friends, if any, higher up, but plenty in the slums of the city states of Allansia. This drifting continues, usually working for whomever happened to be willing to pay him and deal with how he handles situations with minimal complaining.

    She usually wears a long pair of black pants and a small black top that leaves her stomach bare and reveals a few markings scattering her body. She is quick and nimble and is very flexible allowing for a lot of spectacular movements.

    Equipment: A carved Staff that is just a little taller than she is, two small knives that are hidden, and a set of picks that she wears in her hair that could pick almost any lock possible.

    Personality: Shila is still very much a kid at heart; she smiles often and is quite the joker. Shila’s temper flairs when she really has no other choice or is stuck in a situation that cannot be resolved easily. Even for being young she is one of the best thieves around, with a cold calculating look when she does not trust someone. She would rather put on a smile and have a joke than to sit around and mope.

    Bio: Shila grew up in Port Blacksland to a thief of a father and a very sweet kind woman. Her mother died during child birth so she was raised by her father who used her for scamming people out of money until she was old enough to be taught the tricks of the trade. Since then she has moved from town to town, getting what she can and moving on before she is caught.

    Name: Ark Hawkins

    Personality: Because of such young age, it is obvious that Ark was a childish person. However, the previous events makes him more matured. However, due to his past caused by the thieves which makes him distrust thieves and will never believe in them, no matter what personality the person really is.

    Background: Born as a child of noble family that serves Salamonis in years. Ark can be assured to be a knight that will continue his father's path. However his parents were assassinated by the thieves of Port Blacksand, believed under the command of Lord Azzur. Eventually the rogues found him and adopted him as slave. Nobody ever wondered what happened to Ark's life. 5 years of slavery that will continue if it wasn't a help from Sindla, whom he believed that saved him from their grasp and eventually founded by an elf that considered as Outsider. The elf raised him and taught him with magical skills.

    Only differences are that the grey skin is changed to natural elvish skin and the hair is blonde instead of white.

    Equipment:
    - Longbow made of oak
    - Elf-styled two swords which resemble a bit like katanas, with carvings of elven language
    ~ A hooded, dark green coat (just like in Lord of the Rings, lol)
    - Throwing knife
    ~ A journal (which he keeps away from everyone else)
    - An elven silver pendant which he keeps in his pockets instead than in his neck

    Personality: Nára is somewhat ambitious and full of spirit, almost nothing seems to get him down. He's ready to answer almost in anything, since it's known that elves are trutful of their speak. He's not like a elf's supposed to be - he is quite comfort around humans and in cities he continiously examines the surrounding because of his surrounded life inside the Forest Keep's gates. He is friendly, but can be rude if he wants to.

    Background:
    Because of his late interest in business of humans and as well Dwarfs, the elders of his village were about to banish Nára from the village, because they didn't want to get anyone too close with outsiders. Nára often visited the Dark Forest and talked to the creatures about the human business and all what was described in their books. One day, a Black Bear wanted to show Nára something, and he led Nára to a nearby human village.

    Because of his interest in humans, Nára visited the village. He hooded himself because it would cause immense curiousity amongst the humans why would had a elf bothered to visit a village of their race. As Nára was excited and wandered around the village, one drunked man suddenly took off the hood from him, and the villagers were amazed. Soon Nára ran to the forest, leaving odd athmosphere behind him.

    As he returned to the village, the Elders were waiting for him at the gates. Nára feared for the worst, and it happened. He was banished from the village, and he got the tools for his survival, and a mark just under his throat, marking that he is a outsider.

    Now, amongst humans he wanders with no place to stay, and writes his journal about the cities and villages, and wants someday proof that the races could live in harmony. Thought, of course all of the elfs have something against dwarfs, and Nára isn't much different.
