Being a pretty big fan of the first game, I had some high expectations of game number two. Since its release, what do you wish had been included that wasn't? Or what do you wish had been left out?

For myself, I wish there'd been more Organization XIII and no Atlantica. I would have liked to know more about each of the nobodies and their somebodies, gotten to fight some more of them, etc. And singing in Atlantica was beyond embarrassing. I wasn't sure how I'd explain if a family member walked in on me. I'd definitely do away with that whole level if I could.

I wish they'd gone into the events of Chain of Memories a lot more. I felt that that was very poorly handled. The few blurbs that you get about the game in the Secret Ansem Reports don't explain the events that took place between KH1 and KH2 anywhere near sufficiently.

Also, the main story with the heartless and the nobodies wasn't handled with the grace that it was in the first game. In the first one, each world had a place in the story. It felt as if there was a reason to be in each place. In the second game, it never felt as though you needed to be there. You were just solving the problems of that world and then someone tacked on, "Oh and by the way, Pete or Organization XIII was here stirring up trouble". The whole thing felt very poorly paced and like nothing was held together very well.

Another thing that bugged me was the degree to which the game moved you from place to place. So often cutscenes would end with me being transported to the location of the next cutscene so that there was a bunch of preplanned battles with cutscenes between them and very little self exploration. It made it feel as though I was less in control than in the first game. That feeling was furthered by the fact that the camera was set further back. It seems like a little thing, but the more close up camera was one of the things I liked better about the first game than the second.

I wish they'd done more with Namine and Roxas. I expected there to be a bigger role for them based on the beginning of this game as well as the events of Chain of Memories. It also bugs me that he never actually thanks Namine like he reminded himself to do in the journal.

And I further the opinion that Atlantica should have been left out. That was horrible. If they had left it at just the songs from the movie, it wouldn't have been so bad. The Little Mermaid has, in my opinion, the best music of any Disney movie they have ever made. So why they chose to mess that up by introducing those absolutely horrific original "songs", though I'd hardly consider them worthy of being called that, is beyond my ability to comprehend. It caused me to cringe listening to Ursula sing about her "precious poopsies" over and over again. If they were going to have Ursula sing, they should have done "Poor Unfortunate Souls", a song which is a prime example of how music should functioning within a movie score. Not only that, but they left out my favorite song in the movie, "Kiss the Girl" and they did the scene. The level was a complete waste that made me embarrassed to play it in a room by myself, let alone around other people. It's sad to see a level based around music so poorly done when the movie it's based on had such brilliant music.

I also didn't enjoy the Colosseum as much. In the first game I found myself rushing off to the Colosseum every time there was a new tournament. In this one, I found it was one fo the tasks I was least looking forward to. I can't really put my finger on why, but it just seemed like such a waste of time. It bored me, and was hardly worth the effort.

They also should have left out Wisdom form. That thing was so useless. I only bothered using it so I could get the MP Rage abilities.

Where does the game shine in comparison to the first? Gummi ship. This was so much better than in the first game. There was absolutely no point in it the first time. You could just kinda aimlessly float along and you'd get to the next level eventually. You didn't actually have to do anything. In this one, you have to actually pay attention to what you're doing to get through. It was also far more interesting and enjoyable this time around. I actually wanted to go through and do the extra missions.

Also, with the exception of Wisdom form, I loved the drive forms, especially Valor and Master. Some of the limits were useful as well.

And I would have to say that Timeless River is most definitely my favorite level out of either game. I loved the old-timeyness of it. The black and white, the simplistic character design, the old cartoon enemies. The overall nostalgia of the level was great. Whoever came up with the idea of including that level deserves a medal. They rock.

I also loved the Lion King level. Running around as a lion was a fun change in the gameplay. Also, Simba's limit kicks ass. My only complaint is that the story in the level the second time through is absolutely stupid. But that can be said for pretty much all the levels the second time through.

Overall, while I still enjoyed the game, I thought that it was a step down from the first, which is never a good thing for a sequel.

i wish they would make more than one playable character, i mean i use codes to play as riku and such but there not meant to be played so there glitchy. and I CANT STAND THE 100 ACER WOODS! geez square really needs to add more interesting worlds rather than using the same worlds. although i thought the drive forms r a good idea. and as for atlantica, i still laugh my a** off wen sora sings :p

I agree with this as well. One of the worlds in particular that suffered from this was Port Royal. I think the only reason they had that level in the game was to show off Johnny Depp's hotness. Nothing that happened in that world had an effect on the overall story, except vaguely introducing that one Organization XIII dude whose name I never remember.

I actually thought they did a far better job on the hundred acre woods in KH2. The minigames were much more fun, in my opinion.

Also, if there was something you especially liked and wouldn't change about the sequel, post that as well. I'm trying to stir up some real discussion here.

Agreed. The 100 acre woods was much better here than in the first. I never actually went back and redid any of them, but I wasn't bored with it the second time like I was the first time. There was nothing completely lame like "Pooh's Swing" or whatever they called it. No point whatsoever to that game.

I just wish that it wasnt so EASY. Even in proud mode, the game never required you to do much more than hack 'n slash.

I don't mind button mashing. I always seem to do it. But there should be times when discretion is the better part of valor, meaning run away before you die. And that never happened. There was never any strategy to it. You could wipe out hoards with one combo, even early.

I didn't mind the button mashing. It was pretty much the same way in KH1 as well. I wish some of the reaction commands had been a little less powerful though. That 1000 heartless war should have been a lot tougher than it was.

    i thought kh was harder.
i am playing both on thier hardest settings and kh is way harder than khII
in kh i am still in my first trip to agraba, i can't beat that stupid cave of wonders. i am always dead in 2 hits. in khII, i am alot further and it really requires less effort. it took me 4evr to do that jar snake thing in aggrabah in kh.

i also liked that major glitch in kh that didn;t reqire a code to use.

I would have liked to seen all of the nobodies original selves, or at least their names, and battled all of the nobodies that one organization member controls. I would have liked these because i would like it to be evenly distributed. Like Marluxia's nobody that he controls could be a plant looking one with mini-scythes, or Lexaues' could control big nobdoies with tomahawk foreheads...something like that.
