Kind of ruins the fun for surprises.
I never did use a players guide. I am a perfectionist in RPG's but I do so by exploring and checking and talking to everyone and everything.

Never use it to kingdom hearts series. The game is too easy and easy predicted, and i always ask to my friend for Trinity Marks

Nope, but then again I didn't get it 100% my friend did though without a guide and then he let me have his save file, mine was missing a few trinity spots I think or some dalmations.

I did ONLY when I tried (and epically failed) trying to navigate the hollow bastion lift system. a map is handy. I actually missed a few trinities by running over them. spot on the ground, really obvious...

    Hi first of all!

Well I personally didn't need one but I find most people do if they want to complete the gae 100%.
I've got to say... 167 hours well spent :)
