I am lost in Final Fantasy I. I have just gotten the Fire Crystal and stopped in a town to buy higher level spells. The elf prophet says I need to go north of Crescent Lake. I see the town I should go to; but how do I reach it?

Been a while since I played this but I think you need a canoe. I'm pretty sure you get it from the elf prince, but don't quote me on it.

I've done really well! I fought Chaos Garland...and lost. My characters were all Level 91. Knight was equiped with Excalibur. My Black Wizard has level 7 @ 8 spells. My Red Wizard had the duty of healing everybody.

My team is my standard 8-Bit: Knight, Ninja, Black Wizard, Red Wizard.

Should I level to 99?

What console are you playing on well here are some helpful hints to beat Chaos for all consoles
psp
Boss Fight: Chaos ~
=---------------=
Being the granddaddy of them all, Chaos is no pushover. He is the
final fight. Quickly cast Protera and Hasten your physical units.
Chaos is capable of sending high-powered magic spells as well
including the very dangerous Blaze, Tsunami, Earthquake, and Cyclone
spells. Use NulAll to help protect your team from these
monstrosities along with NulBlaze, NulShock, and NulFrost. Fully
pump up all of your physical units with Temper and Haste while your
White Wizard protects the team through use of Healaga and Curaja
whenever possible. Don't forget about Invisira and Protera to
increase the protective and evasive barrier around your team. Chaos
is resistant to nearly every single element and status ailment.
Don't try magic spells as they will just bounce off. Instead, keep
Chaos constantly pounded with physical strikes from your fully
pumped physical units.

Your success is marked with a slow, painful death on Chaos's part as he slowly
dissolves into air. Finally... our quest is at last... over.
psx
Well then, you ready? Ok, let's plunge into the hardest battle in the game
(next to Warmech if you met him by accident). First off, Chaos has almost
every massively destructive spell you could imagine, and he uses them a lot.
Fire 3, Lit 3, Ice 3, and some other odd ones: Tornado, Swirl, Inferno, and
Crack (instant death, watch out). On top of this and unlimited MP (of course),
he can use Fast on himself, so you'd be dealing with a Chaos that used to do
100-200, and you're in trouble. To put a little icing on the cake, Chaos has
Cure 4. Yes, you heard right. He can Cure 4 himself back up to 2,000 at any
time he feels, so just hope he doesn't.

Now the, how to fight him. Start out by having your Knight cast an Anti- spell,
which hopefully you got for him. Have your Master simply attack. If you have a
Ninja, he should cast Fast on himself. Your Red or Black Wizard should cast Fast
on the Knight. And your White Wizard should use Wall on herself. Next turn, have
your Knight use another Anti-Spell, and have your Master/Ninja start attacking.
If you are lacking in mages with Fast, cast in on your other strongest attacker.
Use the White Wizard's White Shirt to cast Invisibility 2. Of course, if Chaos
is being a b****, then make sure you don't have someone at 1 HP or dead. From
here on, have your White Wizard finish casting Anti- spells, and also Fog 2. If
she has spare turns, do walls on other characters, because this battle can be
LONG if Chaos is healing himself. Don't waste all your black magic right away on
Chaos. If he heals himself, it is all wasted. Try to keep track of his HP, and
if it is around 500, then have one turn where everyone goes all out (if your
White Wizard has the Masmune, she can help). Good luck, and hopefully you'll
beat him!”
ds
------------------
BOSS: Chaos
------------------
HP: 20000 (!!!)

He has a lifetime's worth of HP AND he casts Curaja, which heals himself
ALL OF THE WAY to the MAX, OFTEN! (Did all of that caps hurt you? too bad.)
He has, like most of the bosses, has a high defense against magic so don't
waste your Flare and Holy on him. Your WM should cast NulAll while your BM
or RM casts Haste and Focara to your party. Your attackers MUST use the
Giant's Glove or you're going to have a tough time! If you're critically
low (HP), your attackers should use Healing Staffs or Helms to help your
party up. In short, equip your best weapons and defense items and give it
ALL! Don't hold back, this is the time to use the Elixirs, and all that items
you didn't use! This is it! Good luck, Light Warrior!

Final Fantay I &II: Dawn of Souls for GBA.
Where is the Masamune? I do not think I ever found it.

I do not have a White Wizard. Does that mean I can't win?

Hopefully the Red Wizard has enough of the buffing and curing spells to help you survive. If not, you'll have to be a little less protected and hope for this best. This is why I don't like Red Mages. The flexibility seems like a good idea, but in the end, the fact that he's less powerful in each area really does hurt.

And I couldn't say where the Masamune is. I haven't played it in forever.

When I play FFI, I generally stick with that team because of 8-Bit Theatre's influence on me (aka I would not have bought the game otherwise). Once I switched Red Mage & Thief for White Mage & Monk, but I didn't get very far.

Here you go
Temple of Chaos
B4F - Wind
--- ----
This floor has one of the game's BEST weapons, but it's long and far away...
You'll have to fight through a LOT of battles to get it. The weapon: MASAMUNE!
IMO, I think it's worth it, since ANY character can use it!!!!! Really!
To get it, go south to the next block room, and go east. Continue going east
until you see a narrow path, still heading east. Take that path and it will
lead you to the room with the Masamune inside. Do what you please with it.

Whether if you've collected the weapon or not, go to the room right of the
one that you entered (you entered the northwestern corner so go to the north-
eastern corner). However, the only way to that room is from the northwestern
corner so you have to go there first in order to get to the stairs.

Yet another boss... Bah. This is REALLY getting old! Tiamat is tougher this
time so you should cast your toughest magic for your party's sake. He wields
a variety of magic and attacks so you have to be prepared to take the damage.
You could always cast NulAll to lessen the damage. Like always, haste your
attackers to maximize the inflicted damage. You could waste a turn to cast
Saber (Giant's Gloves) if you think you can take a round's worth of damage.
If you have Masamune, just equip it on your Knight and use Giant's Glove and
cast Haste on him. He should do 1000+ damage easily.

and no you don't need a White Wizard but you should have Curaja as one of your spells and just have the Red mage cast that when your HP is half gone

I lost for the third time this morning against Chaos. All of my characters are at Level 99.
I will try again for Masamune. If I lose one more time, I believe I may move on to Final Fantasy II. The battle system for that one made no sense to me, but this is getting silly.

True it was the first game to have that battle system but don't give up you can do it try to get the most powerful spells and then find the best weapons

In Final Fantasy 5, how do you defeat those tree spirits? (its been a while so i cant remember exactly where i am but..) I think the forest caught on fire? and then the we went through it and there are tree spirits in the back and they attack you? They kill me every time and I've tried everthing.

Oh, those. Each of them has a weakness to a different element or in one case, physical attacks. As soon as you hit one of them, they all swap. Just keep swinging and eventually you'll hit it enough times to kill it. I don't remember what attacks it uses, but if it hits physically, use the golem summon.

And don't cast a spell on all. You get hit with it again from the ones who aren't weak to it if I remember right.

So do they randomly chance or is it in some kind of order....?

17. EbeneezerAl

EbeneezerAl New Member

Whenever they change, it's random. Anytime you see a couple of them flash like they're acting, but no action is taken, their weakness have ALL changed. Not just th two who flashed, all of them. I think all the damage is cumulative though. You don't have to kill them all, just one of them. I suggest finding the pysical one and save your MP for healing and support spells. Just keep going around hitting a different target with each character till you land the hit. It usually swaps as soon as it's found, so you likely won't get a second hit. I suggest using a Monk or a Ninja here for the double attacks. Particularly the ninja. Either using the Dancing Dirk to get Sword Dance (a major amount of damage if it hits) or using a double lance to get three attacks off in one shot (assuming you have either of these).

yeah, I use both a monk and a ninja. So you only have to kill one to beat them all huh, ok, ill try spam attacking the physical one.

I'm pretty sure that's how it worked. There is only one name written down right? Or is this the one that had no name at all. In any case I think it's treated as one creature. Any damamge dealt to one is really damamge dealt to the whole.

Here you go this is the guy you where talking about

Boss: N/A | HP: 7777 | Level: 77 |
O============================================o===============o===============O

Let me give you the low-down on how to defeat this boss almost guaranteed,
but you must follow these steps exactly. First I recommend you actually
fight the battle at least once first to get a feel for it. There are
four crystals each with its own elemental immunity. When they have less
than 3000 HP remaining they will cast powerful magic on your entire party
based on their element. Usage of the Reflect spell is rather limited as
you can't cast cure spells on yourself when it is in effect and it tends
to reflect the boss' spells back and them and heal them. Instead this is
what you should do is you absolutely desperately must win without hours of
leveling up, and I was able to win at level 25, which I meant I didn't
do any extra leveling at all. First go to the configure menu and reduce
the battle speed to as low as you're willing to set it without going crazy
with boredom during fights. Secondly make sure the ATB is set to wait as
opposed to active. Now turn three members of your party into summoners
and the last member into a Time Mage. Have the Time Mage cast the Float
spell on your entire party and then change the Time Mage to a Summoner
so you have a party of four floating summoners. Heal up and enter the
battle. Start off by summoning Golem to eliminate all physical damage
which is good because physical damage is all the boss can do. Now summon
Titan EXACTLY five times, no more more. After the fifth summoning of
Titan sit still until every member of your party has their turn gauges
full and are ready to move. Here's what to do. The second the crystal
on the far right attacks select the Summon command for whichever character
you are on and summon Titan. After this three of the four bosses will be
ready to cast their magic on you since they've taken so much damage but
you're more prepared than them. Because the battle speed is so low and
your other three characters are ready to move you should be able to select
and summon Titan three more times before any of the bosses get to attack.
The great thing is that even if the boss does manage to get one attack
through, the bottom one gets a turn after the right one and since that is
the Earth one it won't be using its magic since it has full health. On
fourth casting of Titan in a row which you were hopefully able to do
before any bosses got a turn, it will kill off three out of the four of
them. Here's the great thing. The last one has full health and you have
to switch to some other means of damage since Titan will heal it BUT no
matter what you do or how slow it goes you cannot die. Keep casting Golem
to protect you from physical attacks and since your entire party is
| Floating the Earth Shaker spell cannot hit you. It's definitely win win.
