    Story

    There is a place beyond the eyes of the normal human population. This place is considered home to the people that dwell within it and kept hidden from a world and a society that fears and hates them. This place is home to people with strange and amazing talents, things that could only be described as paranormal or supernatural. It is in this place that its people are known as Alphas, those how are a genetically advanced species of humans that are capable of inhuman abilities.

    Alphas were discovered after a widespread pandemic known as The Omega Virus crippled the entire world with a strange and incurable sickness. Many died but for those that didn't something strange and unexplainable to even the most intelligent minds of science occured. The virus had actually taken away pieces of DNA that were originally within the host and completely rewritten them, causing intense mutations and genetic changes. Many believed that these people were the next evolutionary leap in the human species. However, due to the violent behaviors of the virus that caused some of its hosts to go on a violent, martial law was enforced and the people known as Alphas were contained and placed in confinement in a secret, maximum security prison, never to be released into the human world again.

    But, after a series of diplomatic reform and political strife, the Alphas were allowed to leave their confined prison and allowed into the world of homo sapiens under certain conditions: 1. They would have to learn to control their powers completely until they are deemed ready; 2. They must never use their powers at all; and 3. They must have a certificate showing that they are Alphas and wear a silver a Greek Alpha letter on themselves showing that they are Alphas.

    The terms were excepted and the Alphas were allowed to live comfortable lives. They were able to be educated, become successful in the world that they were allowed to live in, and even able to find love. But, with freedom comes a price. Persecution and violence were also a constant in the Alphas life. In areas of the world that were poorer or less able to adapt or even understand what the Alphas were, they were brutally persecuted and sometimes to the extent of terrible violence.

    The small group of powerful Alphas formed together to make The Fraternity, a group of Alphas with their sites set on eliminating the human race and establishing a world ruled by their own kind, so they may live in a Utopia for themselves.

    A war is slowly brewing between three sides: the humans who wish to eliminate and destroy the Alphas, the Alphas that want to protect the human race and live in peace, and the Alphas that wish to create a new world in their own image.

    Let the battle for existence begin...

    The maximum age for Institute Alpha is 14-18 while The Fratenity's age limit is pretty much limitless. I still need to make furthur changes in the character template.

    The year that takes place is the year 2012. So everything is relatively modern. I forgot to add that when you sign up as a Institute Alpha you wear a uniform. The uniform is very basic: black dress pants, black tie with the Greek letter Alpha in the middle of it, white dress shirt, black dress belt, black dress shoes (male); white blouse, black tie (shorter than males), black and white stripped (plaid-style) skirt with white or black socks that go up to the bottom of the knees (female)

    there will be additions to the dress code but there is a conotative meaning to it.

    Abilities: Seeing as Chris isn’t anywhere near in enough of a body to have an edge there, the virus’ effects bypassed most of his ‘physical’ aspects, and completely reworked his cognitive functions. The result could be described as nearly disastrous; in the long run, he can use it to cause some fair amounts of destruction in whatever The Frat might have planned. But what is this power he has attained through infection? It is nothing short of a refined Psychokinetic affinity, bolstering his ability to channel the signals put out by the brain. The end result is the creation of an ulterior, ‘psionically charged’ brain wave, allowing him to manipulate matter and energy that he may come into contact with; it is power that seems to work down to the molecular level.

    Yet it doesn’t seem to have stopped there. To an extent, the power has enabled him to channel concentrations of energy, forged from the very same brain waves. Telepathy also seems to have been tucked away into the meld, which he uses as often as he sees necessary, and can be used from impressive distances, depending on how hard he concentrates on the message, and its receiver. With some cases, his transfer of thought unto another can give him some leeway into their own thoughts, lasting only so long as their mind remains open to his. In theory he could break through the mind of another by force, but the risk of it is hefty, and could potentially cause him more damage than it does on his target.

    Biography: Somewhere in the middle stretch of 1990, a middle-aged mother was rushed to the hospital, going into labor. She hadn’t expected it on that day, and much less had she expected it to come so early in the morning. But like any readied mother, she quickly recovered from the shock of it, and put together some last minute plans to see to it that her older son, about three at the time, wouldn’t spend the coming day on his own. With plans in place to ensure this, she, accompanied by her husband, had left for the delivery room. At about five thirty in the morning, the long labor of the mother culminated in the week-premature birth of her second son. For the next two days, he went without a name, and was, at the end, named Christopher on the suggestion of his aunt. Despite some minor complications at birth, the child was sent hone with his parents after a few days.

    The years would pass by faster than Chris was really ready for them to. Throughout these years, a lot of things would transpire. Through school, he had some difficulties fitting in with his peers, who seemed to pay him no more than a passing glance. Regardless of the things he tried to do, by high school, he found himself in a state of complete social withdrawal, torn from the thought of interaction by a few ill meaning ‘friends’, whose actions left him hanging on a limb; such actions included lying about parties, and get togethers, and, to his dismay, one friend jumping out of helping him find a prom date without telling him they couldn’t do it. Trying to stay happy, he left high school, leaving behind what he considered an unimpressive legacy.

    Long story short, college life didn’t quite agree with Chris, and in his first attempts at it, he ended up flopping horribly; hence, he left the University setting, retreating into a community college world, which he immediately regretted. That’s when the Omega Virus began to burn its way through the bodies of thousands, millions even. Being someone residing within a small town, Chris found himself one of a small number of people that survived; he was part of an even fewer number that had actually mutated from the effect of the virus. They tried to ship him into the Alpha schools, but by then, he realized that the only person that could really teach him was himself. Naturally, this caused him to put up a fight, which resulted in his capture at their hands. As a consequence of his long days of fugitive action, using his powers despite decrees, he was locked up in a specialized containment, waiting for someone of his own sort to bust him free…

    Biography:
    What would happen if one day you woke up not knowing who you were, without anyone to tell you? This was the beginning of the one came to be known as Dusk. Ten years ago Dusk woke up in the middle of a deserted town in southern Arizona, startled from the horror of the massacre of a family as military troop hoarded in and mercilessly slaughtered a family of four. The screams of this family continuing to echo in his head, when he snapped awake to see a helicopter swarming overhead and military personnel propelled down to secure him.

    When Dusk awoke in a waking nightmare strapped to a chair being asked inaudible questions by a fierce and buff interrogator. The interrogator grabbed Dusk by the jaw intensely and slowly spoke to Dusk. Dusk was incapable of understanding what was being said but caught "...this will be your grave..." Before the interrogator could finish his sentence his body went limp and he fell to the floor and started to shake violently. After several seconds the interrogator got up with an expression of wrath, that would have Homer sing of him in Achilles stead, and before he knew it he was in another dark slumber.

    Time drifted on, seconds feeling like days, days like months, weeks years, all just a bad dream filled with periodic sights of needles and iv tubes filled with mysterious fluids and the same recurring nightmare, when one day Dusk found himself locked in a maximum security cell. Everyday he would be chained and strapped to a chair.hauled into a room to be interrogated by the man from the first day he remembered in the imprisonment, whom Dusk found to be a Commander Lockheart. After a few months in the facility Dusk was forced to perform tests in order to measure his "Alpha Aptitude Affiliation" or the AAA. After many months of work it was found that Dusk had an uncanny ability in utilizing electromagnetic currents and waves. Apparently this meant that Dusk was capable of manipulating electric energy for purposes of running faster and longer, speeding up his metabolism, and supplying and draining electricity for his purposes.

    The Commander saw usefulness in Dusk and proposed the boy a job in the military, a job Dusk distastefully disregarded. The Commander severely punished Dusk and sent the boy to the scientist division to be the test subject of the possible Alpha cure.....Beta Z. Before the testing could begin the bruises and scars were treated to increase near impossible chances of living from shock of "treatment". During the two weeks of recovery, Dusk came to befriend one of the intern scientist, a Jeanne Smith, who sympathized with Dusk. In that time Jeanne came to do so much as to release to him his subject codename, Dawn, and the time of imprisonment nearly seven years.

    After he had finished recovering Dusk was moved to testing. For twelve straight hours Dusk was tested on without the slightest sedative, bone marrow tests, blood sampling, tissue sampling, shock therapy and finally Beta Z. Before the testing of Beta Z Commander Lockheart came in with a disk of video showing Jeanne's sharing of "confidential" information and Jeanne was shot on the spot. Dusk went into a rage and struggled to avenge his only friend. Dusk was chained to the test table and submerged into a tank of water where syringes were thrust into him, and the sweet sensation of delirium overwhelmed his senses.

    Dusk awoke from his nightmare in a bag surrounded by several others, all apparently dead. The door opened and a scientist walked in who on seeing Dusk drew a pistol and shot. In a flash Dusk was on the scientist, strangling him shaking with the sole thought of Jeanne. Dusk took the clothes of the scientist and put them on but as he was undressing he saw a crimson stain of blood on his shirt, but when he took it off there was no mark not even a scratch. When he finally got the clothes on a soldier walked in and without thinking Dusk let out an electric discharge that paralyzed him. Dusk decided it better to walk around a soldier than a scientist and changed again. After a time of wandering around Dusk found an exit with two vehicles preparing to leave in it.

    To his astonishment one of the group in a vehicle was no other than Commander Lockheart, but he was outnumbered ten to one and decided to wait until he was alone with the Commander to get revenge. That night when the group stopped and made camp Dusk saw what he thought was a chance and tried to attack the Commander, but Lockheart was aware of Dusk's presence and had him surrounded and shot with full rounds of every soldier.

    Dusk again had his nightmare and came to his senses in the wilderness by the camp in which his captors thought to have murdered him. He wandered for hours in the waste that was once a great city, the pinnacle of civilization, and found that there were still people who had trudged through the meager existence they could by hunting and gathering. Eventually Dusk was found to be a "chimp" as they called it and was fiercely discriminated against. After surviving two years of harsh discrimination and violence, the survivors came to end the existence of Dusk and in that moment another Alpha came and nearly knocked all them unconscious when in a final plight one survivor shot the Alpha. With the last of his strength the Alpha killed the man and told Dusk of Alpha institute.

    Dusk arrived at the Alpha institute and was given a resume to fill out, but the only name he knew by which to acknowledge him was Dawn, the beginning of day, it was then that he knew his name would be Dusk, for he would be the end to those who oppressed him.

    And so the story of Dusk begins....

    Other: Not very friendly due to isolation and discrimination, but cool calm and collected. Somewhat of a show off, yet quiet and fierce.

    Biography: Being born of a relatively and fairly noble family, Reon was always expected to be a shining image of the next generation of his family on his mother's side even though he took hold his father's side of the family's name due to the fact that he was given his last name. Yet, things were very hard for him to do due to an acute OCD disorder and an impish nature that caused him a great deal of trouble in school. He had been scorned by the family that resented him for not being what was expected of him; therefore, he grew to resent his mother's family (including her) and associated himself with his father's family, with the dream of becoming his family's leader, showing them in a different light rather than the usually scorned and disliked family in his country of heritage: Guyana, South America.

    It was then that he was infected by the Omega Virus. His body became so fragile that the very nerver impulses that kept his heart beating caused him great pain. However, as time passed, his life was spared by the virus and he was given a new chance at life; however, this life came at a cost.

    The violent natures of the virus lingered with him for the first few years of him being released from the same hospital that delivered him from his mother's womb and into the world. He was violently driven out of his hometown of Detroit, Michigan after the accidental murder of a middle-aged man that got in his way during a moment of intense berserk violence.

    He was moved to Institute Alpha shortly after being tried in a court of law. He resented the human race for putting him in such a situation when science was able to understand the virus' traits that affected humans and disregarded himself as being a human-being and rather as an Alpha, the next evolutionary leap in the human chain.

    He grew attached to his world of equal individuals with special talents and became a rather noticeable figure in his school by finishing top of his class but refusing to take AP classes due to his everlasting struggle with his OCD.

    Trying to understand the true secrets of the origins of the Omega virus and why it did what it did, Reon dedicates his life to searching for the true answer to his seemingly false life.

    Biography: At a young age, Ila was able to write and draw at the level of what would be considered experts in the fields of literature and art. She would later consider getting a job by making her own bakery or restaurant where she could pursue her four passions while maintaining a colorful lifestyle worthy of that of celebrities.

    Yet, these dreams were almost destroyed when she had been infected wit the Omega Virus. During her time in the poorly kept hospitals of Puerto Rico, her mother and father died of the terrible disease as she suffered from excruciating pain in her brain that would cause her extreme moments of internal bleeding in the head. The local doctors had concluded that she would die within two months of dealing with the virus (due to it's extreme replication speed and depending on what tissue the virus would attack).

    However, through the sheer force of will to carry out the promise she had made to her grandmother she was spared by the virus' deadly attributes. Three weeks later, she began to experience extreme moments of severe migrains that would result in the flinging of objects that were originally stationary without even being near them. She was sent away to Institute Alpha so her sporadic moments of intense telekinetic violence could be controlled.

    After completing her Freshman year at Institute Alpha, her migraines reduced by 75% however her migraines still would happen.

    Her true ambition is to be able to have control over her life...because she never was able to.

    Biography: Luna was born to a normal family and for the first few years everything was fine for him and his family. Then when he was four, the virus struck. His parents died from it and he gained strange new powers. He was taken like the other Alphas, despite not becoming a violent beast like some of them. When he was finally let out, he didn't understand he was different. He went to school and did other things like a normal person, but no matter what happened he was hated by a large portion of the people around him. He was picked on and beat multiple times. Eventually he discovered his powers and began practicing to master them. The next time he was picked on, he sprouted wings and flew away. From that day on he realised that humans and Alphas could never live in peace together. He was discovered by The Fraternity and once he learned their plans, he joined wholeheartedly. Finally he had friends and a family like him. Now, Luina hates the humans and does what he can to get rid of them, all for the utopia the Fraternity promises.

    Biography: Tom grew up a rather normal life in a small mountainside town. When the virus hit, Tom had gotten affected. While the virus was re-writing his DNA, Tom was struggling to live. This caused the virus to stop prematurely. Originally, his abilities would be full range mind abilites, such as telepathy, mind control, etc. But because the virus stopped early, he only recieved telekinesis. After being with Instutue Alpha for a while, Tom ran away. He didn't like the way he was branded like an outcast.     Biography: Suzaku was born into a unknown town without any birth parents. He lived in the town's largest library with the librarian who became like a mother to him. At the age of 5, he was able to read high level books at such a simple age. While people of the town thought this was really extroardinary, others thought this was uncommon and were terrifeid by this so they sent him to a mental hospital. As he layed there in the hospital, the Omega virus infected him and made him passed out for a long time. When he woke up, his body was so freezing that his hair was even frozen. As time went by, his normal body temperature returned and his hair became unfrozen. But he was still suffering because of the infection. When the librarian saw this, she decided to send him to the Alpha Institute to live a good life.

    Once he was there, he learned about his abilites in writing and decided to follow this passion.
