Warner Bros. has created a movie based on the classic TV show. The genre is one of my favorites- the spy genre.

Plot- 10 The plotting is a mix of action and comedy. Get Smart is primarily about making fun of the serious stuff you see in a typical James Bond flick. The villainous plot is unique and is reasonable. Every character plays a part in either plot advancement, humor, or character development.
A spy movie is generally realistic. It just twists reality a bit for plot devices and humor. Something like the famous shoe phone may not be possible in real life--but it's not hard to imagine it.

Acting - 7 The actors did a great job. One notable role was Dwayne Johnson as Agent 23. The Chief was a fine example of bravery and you could imagine him being Bond-like back in the Cold War. The character of Maxwell Smart played by Steve Carell is likable, but you would not want to be him. Agent 99 is a great example of a femme fatale, and I can see her being influenced by the Bond girls and possibly Marvel's Black Widow. She is played by Anne Hathaway.

Visual Effects- 5 I honestly did not pay much attention to the visual effects. The chase scenes were too fast. The scenes near D.C are beautiful. I love the scenes of them in Russia. Did they do filming inside of Moscow?
If you like explosives you won't be disappointed.

Audio-8 I saw it in a first-run theater today, so it's the best speaker system to get. The dialogue was very witty. The soundtrack was excellant. The best bit is the begining when Abba is playing. However, I wished they included the song "Secret Agent Man" as I adore it.

I'm not sure how to do this without telling you the whole plot. When I got the last Harry Potter book, I immediatly flipped to the last page. Get Smart is respectful to the TV show it came from. There is a referance to the famous shoe phone, which was used all the time in the TV series. At at least one point, someone says "Sorry Chief."
The movie addresses the fact that even though the Cold War is over, nuclear destruction is still possible. The evil organization Kaos is still around in the movie and has a plot involving nukes. And as long as Kaos is around the organization known as Control must exist.
The movie of course is centered around Maxwell Smart. Maxwell Smart wanted to be an agent, and is thrust into the role during an emergancy. Agents 99 and 23 doubt he has what it takes. But the Chief has faith that Maxwell Smart will succed in his mission.

31 out of 40 points. This is not The Godfather, but it is a good movie. I cannot wait for the sequel.

"Beware of pretty faces that you find.
A pretty face may hide an evil mind.
Ooh be careful what you say, or you give yourself away.
Odds are you won’t live to see tomorrow."- Secret Agent Man by P.F Sloan & Steve Barri, sung by Johnny Rivers for the TV show Danger Man

Yes i thought they made a good choice of putting him in this movie. I wanna see it but it's PG-13 and my mom rarely lets me see PG-13 movies. The only PG-13 movie i've seen is Small Soldiers but that movie is old. And thats probably why my mom lets me see it from time to time.

Best movie I have seen this year.
It made me laugh and it was hilarious. The plot's great and Anne Hathaway is alot hotter now. I haven't watched any of the main actor's films before except for Bruce Almighty but I think he's a great comedian.

    I give this film a 10/10
