    Halloween Bash 2012 - The Werewolf Arena

    Round 1
    Requiem vs. BK-201
    Kilet Jan vs. Kinji Takeda

    Setting: The two of you have stumbled into the halls of a sprawling, 19th Century, Gothic mansion. The place seems to have been abandoned by the living for quite some time. Morbid and macabre artworks and decorations, faded over time, still adorn the house, both inside and out. Though still standing strong, the floors, doors, walls and ceilings in the mansion still have that distinct and unnerving creek to them, and everywhere in the house gives off that feelings of being watched.

    But to a combatant, that's not the hardest thing to deal with. That award probably goes to the floor plan. The house, situated on a vast country side, is built upon several acres of space. With six stories (including a basement and an attic in that number) this place is massive. And as if that weren't enough of a challenge for people traversing its innards, the entire house is built in reminiscence to a maze. The minute one leaves the main foyer, they are plagued by a riddle of secret passages, hallways that lead to walls, doors that lead to walls or sheer drops to the outside, and staircases that seems to lead right into the ceiling.

    Terms & Conditions:
    • Each player will have a maximum of eleven posts in the battle; the first one will be for introducing your character and setting up any initial tactics or traps you might wish to spring. The rest are dedicated to the battle. Be aware that the match may be called prior to this limit.
    • If, after three days, a player does not post, then their opponent reserves the right to steal that post. They may use this to attack, take defense, or even flee (just remember, power plays and godmodes are still against the rules. If this happens three times in a row, then the player that has failed to post is automatically defeated.
    • The battling here will start on the ground floor in the main foyer, after which you may spread through the mansion.
    • The battle is to be contained within the mansion. Landing on the grounds is counted as being "knocked out of the ring" and will be counted as an immediate defeat.

    Warped black tights and absurdly long sleeves materialized themselves in a comical puff of smoke, two knives grasped in those sleeves just past two thick leather bracelets bound with an equally daunting buckle. Messy dust-brown hair beneath a black witch's hat barely covered eyes filled with absolute chaos, below which rested a smile of unadulterated glee at the concept of the Arena, and the battle that lay ahead. This purely unpredictable individual did not wait, did not bait his breath for his opponents arrival, and instead Mirrored himself and equipped his other with bone short swords and a ribcage breastplate while summoning midnight-black wings for himself.

    He drooled at the thought of his upcoming fight, the werewolf-legs covered in tight, stretchable fabric tapping themselves on the wooden floor fervently. His other mirrored this action, the sound of tapping feet echoing throughout the room in a chorus of insanity. One knife in Kilet's hand became a cleaver in anticipation of sinking it through flesh and bone.

    This was Kilet, and for this match he was entirely Unhinged.

    Kinji yawned as he entered the old, rotting mansion and smiled "Rotting wood, peeling pant, and other signs that this place has seen much better days... I feel right at home." although he felt rather comfortable in this macabre setting he would not let his guard down seeing as his target could be around the corner. He pulled out a folded slip of paper and read it aloud, "Kilet Jan, unknown age, unknown race, but most likely a werewolf... that's a bunch of helpful information." he said sarcastically before thinking to himself "No other assassin has gotten around to killing him, all that I do know is that this mission so far has a mortality rate of 100%... guess I'm bringing down some statistics today... this'll be a whole lot of fun." he almost shook from excitement as he loaded his 45. Desert Eagles in a Akimbo fashion keeping one in the holster just in case things got crazy and he had to go long range. He had 10 mags on him for his DE and 5 mags for the Dragunov SVD he had strapped to his back.

    "Hey !!! Kilet !!! Here to kill ya !!! Make things easy on me and come out to play !!!" he yelled as his called echoed off the walls, hopefully the Werewolf could hear.

    The freak and his clone looked at each other and smiled a smile that only a psychopath could understand when Kinji announced his challenge to the Carver. The real one simply nodded while the dopple beamed in positive (ly eerie) delight at the idea, setting off to find the zombie.

    "Zombie is rotting flesh! Zombie is living death! Zombie is held up by wire! Zombie is afraid of-"

    The clone, with his bone armor and two shortswords, rounded the corner where Kinji was hiding. He did not finish his little song, rather he went straight ifor as many slashes as he could get in on the walking corpse.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On the other hand, the original recipe maniac had ascended the stairs twice and ran down the hall, looking for something specific. The house breathed to him. Told him secrets. His origins in Halloweentown served him well in this case, with years of finding secret passages in the various tombs and homes of the residents at his command. "First, second, third vase! Twist, twist into place! Open the painting on the wall! Kill, make them fall!" He chanted, locating a specific jar and twisting it, in turn causing a painting to slide open. He jumped in, the portrait of some morbid figure slamming shut behind him.
    The double continued his assault, considering that Kinji hadn't reacted yet. With one sword, he made to cut off both hands of his opponent, making a lunge with the other hand straight for the zed's stomach. Meanwhile. . .
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    The real Kilet screeched in the walls, giving the whole home an eerie cry echoing in it's veins. He moved quickly and efficently for someone so mad. And pretty soon, he found himself at a particular destination. One which only a madman would choose as his hiding place.

    "Cupboard!" The Carver giggled before slipping from the hidden passage into a small wooden box absolutely silently.

    "Seriously..." said Kinji as he barely managed to dodge the lunge, as he dodged Kinji managed to kick up his severed hand. "Now, I'll end it here." said Kinji with a grin as he raised the bloody stump that was his arm as the hand reattached itself still gripping the DE. "Sayonara.." and with that he blasted the Clone in the head several times. "He could have at least shown himself... coward..." he said holstering his gun and reattaching his other hand before walking down the hallway.

    OOC: I'm calling foul play on that last post, mainly because A: Kinji hasn't seen the original Kilet yet, and B: There were two posts of action to react to and he only reacted to the most recent one. Meanwhile. . .

    But of course, Kinji's holstering of his gun was the worst possible choice he could have made. For his opponent was all too ready to pounce as he heard his double go down. One, two footsteps his opponent had made, reattatching one limb. That's when he chose to pounce.

    Kill, kill, kill! The dead return! Ashes to dust! Flames, burn!

    The cupboard, located behind Kinji, sprang open, Kilet rolling out and letting out a horrendous Banshee's shriek, his weapons igniting with a demonic fire. His roll ended with his wolven legs on the wall, and he wasted no time in using that to spring at the zombie. Knives aflame, he sliced and diced at his opponent, using every speculum of momentum to his advantage.

    Thanks to his opponent's lack of response, Kilet continued his assault, but growing a wolven snout and sharp fangs* to bite into the zombie, wrapping his legs around the back of his opponent for a better grip. He attempted to sink the enhanced maw into the neck of the undead creature, wanting to rip the neck apart like a fine steak.

    In roughly 24 hours I'm calling this battle. If BK does not post within that time, then Requiem has full permission to finish off his character.

    His opponent, dim witted as a zombie should be, didn't even react to Kilet's onslaught. He didn't flinch when the fangs and maw gored him for energy, either. It surprised the Unhinged Carver, considering that he was hoping for much more of a fight this year.

    "Oh well!" Kilet giggled, igniting his cleaver and knife one last time before driving the two blades deep into the undead's neck, severing head from spice. A flick of the wrist, a little twist, and the nogging came flying clean off. The body dropped almost immediately afterwards, but Kilet hopped off in time to avoid that.

    "Next dish!" He barked towards seemingly nobody in particular. But, he knew they were watching. They always were.

    Needless to say, Requiem has won this battle, and will advance to the round 1 winner's bracket. You'll be battling DW in the next round.

    Halloween Bash 2012: Round 2
    Requiem vs. Desert Warrior

    Setting: The locals call this place "the crypt." In actuality, it's a abandoned, partially underground battle arena. Not unlike the Colosseum of Ancient Rome, this place was once used for public displays of torture and gladiatorial battles. However, it is significantly smaller than the Colosseum. The central ring, used for the displays and combat, measures 100 feet in dimameter, and features of a natural floor of compacted dirt. A wall standing roughly fifth feet in height surrounds this ring. The second level, resting near the tops of the wall features a ring of seating, large enough to accommodate 200 people, plus a specially reserved seating area for a few dignitaries from the crypt's heydays. The roof of this structure is a dome, with a forth foot diameter opening at the top through which natural light from the sun moon can enter into the combat floor. The floor of the ring is cluttered with the remains of warriors and others who perished in the crypt, left behind as examples to the living.

    Battle Conditions
    • This battle will last for a week.
    • Combatants will battle one has admitted defeat or incapacitation, or until the time has run out.
    • You are to remain in the crypt for the duration of the battle.
    • The crypt can be moderately damaged, but not destroyed.

    "The bones of the past will make the battles of the future more amicable. But whose bones will it be that grace the grounds tonight, I wonder?"

    An intelligent voice echoed through the Crypt, a hat floating at one end of the gladiator pit. It was a witch's hat, leathery and polished while gleaming in the light. Suddenly, a body, glowing with a gray light, dropped from the piece of attire. Clothing then formed itself around the body, all skin-tight save for a brown mantle upon the shoulders of this effeminate form. The skin finally appeared out of the light, forming all the features one would commonly associate with a human. Finally, the figure dusted the hat off his head and tapped it once - a double-sided pumpkin staff dropping out and landing perfectly vertically.

    Kilet picked up the staff and easily broke it in two, disconnecting the joint that held the two pumpkin maces together.

    "A vampire is a dangerous creature only to those who do not expect them," A Restabilized Carver remarked, awaiting his opponent.

    The seating area of the crypt was completely empty, save for one seat up in the reserved section. In this one occupied seat sat what looked like a man. He was slouching in the seat and his head was leaning back, giving the appearance of somebody who was asleep. This individual's ears twitched with Kilet's appearance. His ears twitched as though he heard something, even before Kilet actually spoke any words. The eyes of the sleeping individual snapped open as Kilet began to talk. His eyes looked at the ceiling, observing the moonlight that poured through the opening.

    Even with the moonlight in the crypt, the vampire was still sitting in shadows. His body silently sank into the shadows and disappeared. He soon reappeared from a shadow near Kilet, some ten feet or so behind him. Leon moved behind Kilet, preparing to sink his fangs into his neck. He moved quickly but silently, taking care to not disturb any of the bones that littered the floor.

    "A vampire does not strike from the front when their victim is unaware. . ." Kilet remarked, folding one mace to his front and one behind, as if he were about to take a bow. "But one thing affects them just as well as any other undead."

    Suddenly, flames began spewing from both heads of the pumpkin maces. The slightly-less-than-maniacal carver used their propelling force to spin on one foot, gracefully pirouetting while the fire danced around. If the vampire were nearby, it'd certainly keep them away. If they weren't, then it'd certainly be an impressive enough display to cause some opponents to rethink sneak-attack strategies.

    Leon quietly jumped back, away from the flames. He could've risked continued going for the kill and try to let the flames phase through him but wasn't sure if he would manage to get by without a single burn. But then again if he could get Kilet's blood the flames wouldn't be much of a problem. Again he sunk into the shadows, thinking up a new strategy.

    "It would be better to lead him into a more favorable spot for me." The vampire thought as he considered his options. His hand reached out of a shadow some distance away from Kilet grabbed a bone that was lying about on the ground. Snap. Give his enemy an idea as to where he may be. Leon's hand let go of the broken bone and sunk back into the shadows before rising out of another shadow to break another bone and get Kilet going in a specific direction.

    Kilet smirked as he heard the bones snap from two fairly different directions.

    "The art of misdirection is only as effective as the audience is clueless," He sighed, putting both clubs into one hand. He dangled them like a juggler would, daintily between two sets of digits, but still with a firm grip as to not possibly drop them. He breathed dark energies, a purple lightning-smoke traveling from his eyes and mouth down his arm to sink into his two favoured pumpkins, which in turn glowed brightly purple from their eyes and mouths. Half a second later, four beams lanced out, connecting with the immediate piles of bones near Kilet. Four skeletons reformed themselves and arose, rattling as they became whole once more. They all grasped different weapons in various states of decay armed with the following: One with two dulled tomahawks, one with a bow but no arrows, one with a rusted battleaxe, and another with dual rapiers that were both broken in half.

    The Carver tut-tutted, patting the one with the bow on the head. "Just use bones broken in two - their sharpness will suffice," finishing up the energy for a second set of spells. Using the Pumpkin Aegis and Witches' Gift, he summoned a gourdskin buckler onto his right arm and a broom into his corresponding hand. He cackled, mounting the broom with all four skeletons surrounding him. He rose a good two yards above the ground, merrily chanting, "Treguna mekoides and trecorum satis dee!"

    "This is getting irritating." Leon cursed in his mind, growing slightly weary of waiting until he could get a favorable strike. So far his main advantages were the lack of light and the size of the area. He could quickly move throughout the arena and never be seen once. He looked around the area of the shadow he stepped out of. He was again on the second level, the only area he would be able to find anything other than human bones. Leon reached down and grabbed hold of one of the bricks set into the structure of the seating. He pulled on it, breaking it free of the old mortar surrounding it. The vampire gently tossed the brick up a few times, getting a feel for its weight. Heavy enough to shatter bones with enough force. He then threw the brick at one of the skeletons summoned by Kilet.

    The brick hit the neck of the skeleton with the battleaxe, causing its head to fall onto the ground. Whether this would actually stop the skeleton or not Leon wasn't sure. Admittedly he probably should've gone for a more definite crippling shot, such as the skeleton's leg. Leon broke another, slightly larger brick free from the area, ready to take another shot.

    At the sound of the first brick, Kilet ignored it, thinking it was just another ruse. It wasn't. The brick broke the neck harshly, a loud "CRACK" echoing through the area and collapsing the skeleton. The other skeletons responded immediately, charting the course of the brick by where it landed. The one with tomahawks threw one while the bowman fired a sharp piece of tibula in the general direction of the brick. The Carver responded to the noise of the second brick being pried loose (Mortar ain't the quietest of materials) by sending two Chilled rounds at the vampire's general direction. The carver flew higher up, smirking as he did so.

    "The shadows are only as useful as the silence protecting them!" He giggled, shifting forward slightly on the broom to watch the ground.

    The tomahawk hit the seats in front of Leon while the bone that was shot harmlessly landed somewhere behind him. Without anything attached to the bone to help it fly straight, the bones lost a good deal of accuracy. Leon threw the brick that was in his hands towards one of the chilled rounds while grabbing the tomahawk and throwing that at the second chilled round. The brick broke against the ice shot while the tomahawk rebounded towards Leon. He quickly sunk back into the shadows to dodge, but not before the tomahawk managed to make a cut across his shoulder. Even with the tomahawk dulled, it came back with enough force to cut somebody.

    Leon reappeared at another part of the crypt, at the highest point of the seating area. It was a spot that was above where Kilet was currently floating and, more importantly, it was again behind Kilet. Leon walked to the wall and felt along it, looking for a place to pull himself up a bit higher. When he managed to get a few feet off the ground the vampire kicked off the wall and began to glide towards Kilet. Once he was above Kilet he would drop onto his opponent and try to finish the fight.
