Finally, a movie deserving of all the critical acclaim it has been receiving (I'm talking to you, Avatar fandom). I saw this twice while on vacation (rainy days man) and I was thoroughly impressed by the depth that this went into.

Basically, the idea is that two men, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph-Gordon Levitt (who is an incredible actor, which you must agree with after seeing this and (500) Days of Summer) have technology capable of invading one's dreams to retrieve data and even possibly plant ideas (this process is called Inception). They are hired to infiltrate the mind of the son of a wealthy business man who just died and plant the idea into his mind of dissolving his father's business. Inception is considered nearly impossible, as you have to plant it deep in the subconscious, requiring extreme sedatives. I don't want to leak any spoilers, as I want this to be a spoiler free thread, but the rest is simply mindblowing.

Christopher Nolan (director) has once again shown me why I regard him as one of the best active directors, if not the best, in all of Hollywood. Extremely creative.

The acting is also superb, consisting of DiCaprio, Levitt, Ellen Page (Juno, Hard Candy), Ken Watanabe (Batman Begins), Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins), Marion Cotillard (A Very Long Engagement, Public Enemies), Tom Hardy (Bronson), Dileep Rao (Drag Me to Hell and, unfortunately, Avatar), Tom Berenger (Breaking Point), and briefly Michael Caine (pretty much every Christopher Nolan movie since Batman Begins).

I will rate this a 10/10, solely because I cannot find one valid complaint about this film. Well done, Christopher Nolan.

One of my local magazines didn't like it because they thought it was too much like Shutter Island. I never saw that movie, but Inception is FANTASTIC.

Been wanting to see this movie. But all the recent times I was at the movie, the next showing was two or three hours later.

Avatar as in Last Airbender or Avatar as in giant blue people?

    ^ I'd guess James Cameron's Avatar.

I want to see this, but this is more of the type that I'd rent as soon as it comes out on DVD, as opposed to paying for the whole theater thing. Unless it comes to our drive-in. ^_^

So, as far as the story goes, is it difficult to follow? I guess it ultimately depends on the person, but I've heard both that it takes more than one viewing to get it, and that if you just go and pay attention, you'll be fine.

I also hear the ending is one of those thought-provoking things.

Let's just hope he doesn't turn into Michael Bay.

Inception was a very epic movie. I understand it simply, you just need to listen and follow through of what they're saying. The story gets very understandable after that. After the movie It just made me think a lot and very deeply.
